Personally I've been on protest since a week after DR. Basically that means I voted with my wallet. I stopped playing until things settled down and the devs stopped constantly changing everything and anything in an attempt to funnel everyone into the Delta Quadrant. I returned to play the Romulan Arc but while it's an extra stat on the user line, it results in just an extra cost to Cryptic, not extra money.

My stipend hasn't been spent, nor have I used the dilithium exchange. Ultimately it results in my activity not having a direct or indirect benefit to their cashflow. And it will remain that way until I am satisfied that they have gotten back in their collective boxes.

It might not be much, but as one person, it's what I can directly do.

No the real problems were 1, the forum population is only about 3 to 5 percent of the game population, most players in STO are frankly unaware there is a forum, and 2, the mark hoarding players who are upset over this extremely minor and ultimately inconsequential change are an even tinier fraction.

Yep. I've reported and complained about bugs, pointed out design flaws, and mourned the lack of T6 ships for KDF and Romulans, but I'm not on the side of the hoarders for this one.

Turn marks in hourly as you play. That gets you more than the 750 per 50 during the rare dil weekends. Enjoy the free extra dil you get on the weekends for playing during them.

I never bother with the mark turnin myself simply because I have better things to do...

I don't grind for marks that I'mnto going to use, it's as simple as that.

but I'm not on the side of the hoarders

Okay this "hoarder" nonsense needs to stop.

Hoarding marks as they did was a sound decision given what they knew at the time. There was no way to know the bonus on those missions would be removed. Hell, I didn't grind marks explicitly for this purpose, but I myself used to hold off until dil weekends for conversion just because of the benefit.

I think these so-called "hoarders" are being a bunch of cry-babies, but they didn't do anything wrong. There's no need to start throwing around derisive labels for what was a good call on their part.

A good call until someone proves it's a terrible call with basic maths on Dil per mark...

It is astonishing the numbers of worthless brown-nosing white knights there are to preach helplessness and hopelessness when someone actually tries to do or say something. Seriously, I am beginning to think that these people are employees of Craptic and here specifically to decry any effort the players might make to let Craptic know what they are doing is unacceptable. And in the same breath they try to insert their own fake concerns into the conversation as a distraction from the actual topic of the thread.

These idiots will be the first to go on about how everyone is powerless and if they don't like what their favoured game is becoming they should quit. Well, perhaps you should take your own advice. If you have nothing positive to contribute to the conversation, **** off. You aren't wanted; you aren't liked, you sure aren't needed, and all you do is waste everyone's time. Fatalism does not make you better than anyone else.

If everything is so hopeless, why are you wasting everyone's time with your nonsense. Let the people trying to accomplish something try without your worse than useless efforts to TRIBBLE all over everything. Go do something else. You are only helping Craptic divide the community, and that makes you scumbag complicitors trying to discourage anyone from trying to save the game they love. It's too bad you don't love the game as much as you love your self-righteous, "I told you so" mentality.

Get your nose out of Cryptic's TRIBBLE. You are not going to get anything for it. You are not being loyal, or wise, or knowledgeable. You are just being a dupe, a pawn, worthless to yourselves and worthless to everyone else.

Has it ever occured to you that maybe some people don't mind these changes that happen within the game? Has it ever occured to you that perhaps your experience with the game isn't going to be exactly the same as other people? Yes, you may find that some people will have pretty much the same experience (in this case a horrid experience), but don't presume to think that everyone is going to be exactly like you. I don't mind the changes. Does that mean that I, too, am jumping through hoops at Cryptic's beck and call? No, it doesn't. This "protest" that people seem to think will help change the state of the game (as they see it) is pointless. It's not going to change anything.

I'm sorry but what's the underlying complaint by the OP? Is it merely the fact that turning in 50 rep marks = 500 dilithium instead of the previous event amount of 750?
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

Blah-blah-blah. Say something relevant. If you can.

Or if you can find two brain cells to rub together, find something *useful* to say.

Someone tried to do something useful and all you can do is snipe away from the periphery. What a waste of starstuff you are!

Relevant to what? Useful to who?

Anything said about the dil issue that you disagree with is just going to be brown-nosing Cryptic, so my assumption is you won't consider it useful, let alone relevant, unless it agrees with your viewpoint. Logically, it follows that you're not actually seeking debate, but reinforcement for your own position. So, it's pointless to even try talking to you - as if your last few posts haven't made that abundantly clear.

You're right, Cryptic is wrong, and you won't hear another word of it. Is that an accurate summation?

You claimed that Cryptic is dividing the community of this game, but what you don't realize is that you are the one who is dividing the community of this game, raeat, by either calling people names or make snide remarks about Cryptic. Have you ever tried to not be rude to other players? From all of your previous posts, you have attacked someone who happened to disagree with your opinion/thoughts on the state of this game. You might be taking this whole situation way too seriously. It's just a game. Maybe you should take a break from this game. Is that remotely possible for you to do?

On the subject of having something "useful" to say, you haven't said anything useful either, just so you know. Just because you feel one way doesn't mean other people will feel the same way. People are allowed to have differences in all things, including opinions. You should learn to not try to stifle other people's opinions regardless of whether you agree with the opinions or not. You want to be helpful but calling people names isn't being helpful.

Oh, I don't fly around just collecting the shiny rocks. I have pretend adventures in my pretend spaceship, and the shiny rocks just sort of accumulate. Every so often, I give some to my fleet, or spend them on buying something, or on one memorable occasion buy 500 Zen with them so I can pick up a Constitution-class for a new toon.

Maybe if I were terribly worried about how many shiny rocks I had, I might feel as miserable as you, but I didn't sign up to play Shiny Rocks Online.

Honestly that's something that's always bugged me about MMOs in general. The grinding is the same gameplay as anything else in the game so if playing the game isn't something people enjoy what are they geting the gear, or whatever, for in the first place? Further once you DO get the top tier stuff then what?

Preach on it, Brother! Amen to your post! I do the same thing. After awhile, one runs out of things to spend the Shiny Rocks on anyway.

The change to marks is probably for the better. It cant possibly have been very fun to be dil starved 3 months out of every 4, and then spend one weekend every 4 months clicking the mark turn ins for hours and hours.

Now, in this new and probably better system, you just turn your marks into dil as needed, without having to worry that you're cheating yourself out of 50% more dil.

Quite frankly, the opposition to this change comes from reactionaries.

I mainly regret not having been able to find the perpetrators of this 'sit in' and shoot them with spray in the game.

    zang fandongpai...

And so, what if they weren't dilithium starved during those 3 months?

What if they collect and refine their 8k daily every day but, the marks just keep piling up anyways?

What, now all of sudden they shouldn't benefit from something that was put into play, since the advent of reps and the hourly events, the whole reason of the old event system and than changed to the weekend system, the whole oxymoron of a dilithium weekends, when something that provides dilithium not be included, into a weekend revolving around dilithium?

    Hmmmm, interesting!

I've just been converting it to Zen, even with the conversion rate as high as it is. I could use it for sets, weapons and all that stuff sure - but I don't need it. Buying a few keys and grabbing a few million EC here and there is a far better use I think, especially now R&D is a thing again.

I suppose it's good that the OP is so passionate, so motivated, in a way.... This world needs passionate, motivated, highly engaged people of strong principles and strong convictions, if injustice is to be checked and tyranny overcome.

Now, we need to figure out some way of getting the OP passionate and motivated about something remotely sensible, instead of "not getting as many freebies as expected during a promotional event in a video game".

Now the daily burden of hitting that refine cap is lessened.

You get extra bonus dil from playing the game during the dil weekend.

You get extra for doing STFs, battle zones, mining, turning in contraband, and anything else that rewards dil directly for some gameplay activity.

You know, for playing the game! Not just sitting there as your mind goes numb and your wrist gets carpal tunnel from turning in rep marks, 50 at a time, with a slider, for hours.

Gosh, there would be no need for carpal tunnel if there was a reasonable way to turn in marks rather than the injury inducing method Craptic imposes on us now. If only the player base had suggested implementing a faster, better turn in method. Oh, wait - they did. Many, many, many times. All lost on Craptic and worthless white knights (with dirty knees) who try to pretend turning in your marks and rep items is somehow cheating...

And these posts makes clear you have absolutely nothing to say of any consequence, as you all but immediately degenerate into attacking anyone with an opposing point of view... Which pretty much mirrors anything else you generally post...

You complain of 'retaliation penalties', perhaps if you did not immediately break out into hysterical rants and deriding those who disagree with you in every single post, there'd be no 'retaliation penalty'...

Now, did you actually have something of validity to add to the conversation, or is yet another rage post the extent of your contribution?

On a side note, I don't think the word integrity means what you think it does, as so far you've not demonstrated it as a trait you possess...
