I think we can all agree that there's been a few annoying things the past week or so.
However, here's what I like that I've been seeing:
We've had communication as to what's going on, why things happened, and what plans are (about omega upgrades, omega mining, dil weekend mark turnins, and more), that came down officially, and was both on the relevant forum threads and then posted to reddit - going back to the official forums to relay official information, and doing so in a timely manner, with actual statements that we can hold you guys to and that you stick to is fantastic.
We've been getting reasonable actions taken: the minigame buff, the dil weekend extention, the omega upgrades fix, all of these say 'we care about our players', and it's honestly hard to find fault with the actions taken as a whole - I think the dil weekend was mostly a communication breakdown, that was overall handled well by you guys at Cryptic.
Basically it feels like you guys have decided to try being very open-doored, upfront, and generous about miscommunications that have occurred (because they will occur, and so will bugs), and for this, I look forward to other great things from our new EP. I'd also like to shout out to Borticus here, as some of the things I just mentioned have come from him - his presence lately has been wonderful as well.
I don't think things are perfect, but I'm seeing great signs that things are looking up for STO, and I like that.

Today has been a remarkable day for Cryptic/community interaction.
Major TRIBBLE-up, and a response within 3 hours to resolve it. Sad to see the bonus for marks go, but he explained why they're doing it, apologized for the way it was handled and extended the event to a week.
If this is the tenor of the way things will happen in the future, I'm ok with it.
He still needs to do his intro post thread... dang et, where is smirk to ket Ricossa know about his intro post to EP.
Ps all i read about this thread was the title and I agree, its been what, the 3rd day? and Ricossa already handle a big event, with smoothness and ease...
I like him... I suspect a bright rising sun over the horizon, this next coming months/years for sto with him.

I think this is what MOST of the players desire.... and I, too, hope it is merely the beginning of a trend.

Well put. I agree. It showed he was at least aware of the issue and recognized it as an issue for some. He didn't cave. He did compromise. I can absolutely respect his actions here today.

So, the propaganda minister told you what they were going to do regardless of what you think and you think that's a good thing?

I'll take a quick, ostensibly positive response over the none at all we would have gotten from the previous EP any day.
Obviously we'll have to see how this pans out long-term but this is an objective improvement already. It's not the response you wanted is your problem, seems to me.

More communcation is a good start. Salami_Inferno seemed to me to be communcative in the Dan Stahl-vein, but he's proving he's not willing to BS us. This pleases me greatly. #purrr

Looks like you have a problem. It is inside your head and it is your viewpoint.
Therefore it is your problem, not ours.
If STO has become far too difficult for you to play without [Console - Universal - Instant Gratification and Entitlement], I suppose you could always go back to Farmville or one of the other fine products offered by Zynga over on Facebook.
The EP communicated with the playerbase here. Instead of someone having to go track it down on Twitter or Reddit and then drag it back here. He admitted there was a mistake on Cryptic's part and he offered something he did not have to as a way to make amends. This is very much different from the way D'Angelo did things. It is a small change but it is still a positive one.
BTW, Post a ticket to tell Customer Support you don't want the extra Dilithium or the extra days you'll have to get it. After all, if someone with your principles and integrity is seen feeding at the trough with all us mere mortals, you could lose your pro standing in both the troll and the neckbeard communities.
Do you really want to do that?

I am worried about this trend of devs to name themselves after food. Getting hungry reading their comment. Will the next dev to be introduced be name beer jerky or bacon?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
it's a start, nothing more. the EP has a very long way to go before cryptic communication even on the level before any type of convincing can happen. cryptic owes the community several years in poor communication as it is. see what happens over the next few months with the new EP, until then..
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

If I become a dev, I will name myself "Chicken Noodle Soup".

Speaking of which... Time to cook some up. :P
Would be nice but would prefer Chicken Noodle Soup for the STO.
While I read a post months ago with ( I think Borticus) said that rep turn ins were not supposed to count for dip weekends. I can't find it now. Either way I would love for the communication to stay this active. In don't like some changes, but games have to evolve or be pushed to the side. Either way I have read more post from Borticus, Crypitcfrost, and Tacofangs in the last three weeks than I have before.

I don't like the nerf. It's stupid, useless, and makes the event even less appealing. Except for the contraband mission, I'm not going to run it. And I suspect it will be nerfed next.
But the extra week and the Salami post was nice. And fast. That's a nice change.
I'd really like the devs to slow down on replacing systems, and spend a lot more time on bug fixes to just replaces systems. Barring that Communication's wonderful. Hopefully it'll improve the mood of the forums.

I think the nerf is superfluous. Even without the nerf it was less appealing than running the hourly for the respective rep. Also the hourly allowed people to not get RSI...
