10 second not-responding timeout implemented with latest patch?

For quite a while, when changing maps I get the message "Server is not responding...", while the map loads. This didn't ever bother me, as it was only during a map change.

However, after maintenance today, it seems that at the 10.00 second mark, I get kicked back to the log-in screen. It usually takes another 30 seconds to log in, then another 10 seconds, until the map is loaded in to memory enough to beat that 10 second cut-off.

I know there's been a lot of server issues with the anniversary event, but the new 10 second cut-off seems a bit absurd.

Anybody else experiencing this? Any suggestions on how to minimize this problem?

I have had several SNR issues today, but I was never kicked. It happened about every few minutes. My ISP is top notch and my ping to other MMOs is always below 70. I only ever have connection issues with STO which can only point to something is going wrong on their end.

All that being said, I do get kicked from time to time on the game along with half my friends list. I seriously doubt ALL of our ISPs suddenly went doink at the same time.

Well, thanks for the reply. I pay my ISP a few extra bucks a month to keep on a low-latency, priority line. Similarly, if my ping goes above 75 in any other game, I start investigating. So far, it has never been on my end, or my ISP.

The combination of events I'm seeing is a serious fail somewhere:

Map Change -> Patching... -> SNR -> Kicked back to log-in. -> Login -> Patching.. -> SNR -> (repeat until patch/load from disk to RAM is done).

Perhaps now is a good time to start asking why the hell the client is reportedly patching every map change.
