and if you are in a fleet or not how advanced your fleet is.
and if you feel like it some horror stories about past fleet experiences kdf side.
thank you.
I do
alien, orion, rom-kdf, borg kdf are the primary toons.
I have 11 or 12 or so toons, lost track. 5 (kdf) are above level 50 and played more or less.
fleet is t4ish, spire is about to hit t3, mine is done, not sure about the rom piece
Ive had nothing but positive experiences here. Some fleets are underdeveloped, just as my current one is, but that is about the worst thing I can say. The NOP and other fleets have been excellent about opening up stores for those who need them.
Far as it goes, ppl complain about our lack of ships but as I see it..
feds got ships.
we got contraband, dil, leech, bridge officers, and similar nice things. Many of our ships are very good.
I would love to have more ship choices. I have a large # of box ships because the stock ones are so limited. But I would never trade these other features for ships... we have the better deal, really. Tried playing a fed... no leech, no pirates, no SRO, maybe 1 contraband turnin on a good day, no good carriers (bad pets), no good cloak, and outside of science, not one ship seems any better to me (they clearly have the edge in sci).
Even though he is not my first character (originally I was going to hold out until I could unlock Ferasans for my KDF toon), my Tac Gorn is my main for all intents and purposes. I also have a KDF Romulan.
First character was a Fed, most-played character at the moment is a Fed Rom. I do, however, have a well-equipped KDF alt who is not a farming toon (except when I need dil for a big purchase, in which case all three of my chars are farming toons).
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"
— Sabaton, "Great War"
Crell of the House of Jev - Created back when one still had to advance to level 25 as a Fed to unlock the ability to become KDF. TAC KDF. My oldest char as I deleted the Fed I leveled because I was having so much fun playing KDF.
Cha Herom - A Lethean SCI created because I wanted a mule/dil farmer. Started playing him and really enjoyed it. My first Science char. I watched with glee as Elite Tactical Drones backpedalled from him when I figured out how to work effectively on the ground with him.
T'Cael - My KDF-aligned Rommie. ENG char. He has been completely enjoyable and lately I have been using him to explore alternate ship setups. Some of them have been very good. Others not so much. But all of them them have been lots of fun to figure out.
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.

Of my 4 active alts, the 3 most developed are all KDF:
Garmokh - Klingon Engineer
Kavorn - Klingon Tac
Klorin - Liberated Borg Klingon Sci
All at just under 30 spec points each.
My "backup" alt is a Fed-Klingon Tac, M'yarg, who to be fair has had a lot of play recently since he's the only one I've run through the full DR mission set in; they just don't make sense for KDF. He's still lagging on 25 spec points.
Tertiary toon - Playing only once or twice per week. Created during the 2014 Winter Event primary to get the Breen Carrier. The plan is to eventually swap this toon in place of one of the primary or secondary toons.
My mains are a reman kdf aligned engineer, a kdf Borg engie, fed alien tac, and a fed andorian engie. My alts are a ferasan tac, kdf sci alien, kdf aligned sci Romulan, fed sci trill, and a kdf aligned tac Romulan (4 mains and 5 alts) Prior to DR, I played more kdf, but now I play both evenly.
My fav ships are the Negh'var, d'deridex, d'kora, peghqu', gal-X, and the intrepid.
I am currently a member of both the tl'hap Jen and Vice Squad fleets, both maxed out t5 fleets.
The thing I miss the most is pvping with my fleets in kerrat prior to DR as well as fighting HOBO kdf balls . Since DR, I haven't touched pvp and won't be doing it again for a very, very long time.

1 Fed Reman, 1 Vulcan, 1 Ferengi who I play mostly for the humor value of a 4-foot dude with a pot belly kicking the butts of Jem'Hadar and Borg, a Caitian because obligatory cat jokes, and Three.
My mains are my KDF-Rom, Three, and my Klingon (who has a sweet Mat'Ha). Scimitard, TSABC, and Mat'Ha, respectively. I actually like the TSABC the best; even with a relatively weak build, it tends to put out more damage and last longer than the Scimitard. The Mat'Ha is pure unrelenting firepower, the starship equivalent of a 16-layer chocolate cake. In other words, pure delight to fly, and supremely addictive.
Rest are more or less farming implements to get her all the goodies. Diamonds are girl's best friends - when used as focusing pieces for her elite fleet disruptors.
Well my main was a kdf for a long time. Now I tend to consider my kdf allied romulan my "main". Both are aliens.... And prety much the same character.
I play fed a lot too though...
Yep we got demoted from 18% to 16% they just had to sucker punch as we walked out on them. It's okay I just need an avatar now that says Empire Veteran Retired. I do plan as a test to see though if I don't login for 6 months if it will still give me my LTS stipend or not. I did hear though that if you don't login for x amount of time each month that it won't give the stipend. So being they don't want KDF players as customers it'll be the great KDF experiment from a main KDF player-retired of course
Only ever created one FED back at launch when you had to start FED and reach a certain level to unlock access to the KDF.
KDF from that point all the way and never looked back since.
Primary character is SCI the rest of the eleven alts are all KDF with one KDF-ROM (not including one FED collecting dust for 5 yrs)
KDF Main:
SCI Klingon
KDF Alts:
SCI Liberated Borg Klingon
TAC Orion
ENG Gorn
TAC Orion
TAC Alien [TOS Klingon]
SCI Alien [Andorian]
ENG Alien [Andorian]
TAC Romulan
TAC Talaxian
TAC Liberated Borg Klingon

Been in and out of several fleets of all different levels, problem I run into is that most are dumping grounds for FED player alt characters and they have zero real interest in KDF side other than occasionally slumming it.

It will. I take month off once or twice a year to play another game. My stip is there waiting on me, if it's true it would be after 30 days at least.

I was Klingon before Klingon was cool.
Okay... so I used to like building, playing, and experimenting with alts. That pretty much carried over to my list of characters (though it's only 11, so I'm not an alt-o-holic ). I still stubbornly play my alts, but since one of my most recent was a Nausicaan Eng... that has become my "main" simply because he needed the most work (and still isn't "done" thanks to the diminished progression and my disinterest in hanging out doing patrols).
KDF/KDFRom (primary faction)
Brok'gin, Klingon, Science
*my first KDF character, and still one of my favorites
Duhk, Romulan, Tactical
M'ess, Ferasan, Tactical
S'huk, Reman, Engineer
S'hef, Reman, Tactical
Tejel, Romulan, Science
Grabu, Nausicaan, Engineering
*my current "main" since he's the fellow I was working on when DR hit... and am thus still working on
Tiurcer, Alien, Science
*my primary Delta Recruit, since they gave us the character slot
Fed/FedRom (secondary faction)
Dabot, Betazoid, Engineering
*my first STO character
Yoap, Alien, Science
Forest, Human, Tactical
*created mostly to try out the Federation Tutorial after the revamp
Ka'rinna (formerly Birana), Romulan, Engineering
*she was my disposable character slot, until it became too bothersome to level another character
*re-rolled as a Fed Delta Recruit, killed off once the account unlocks were acquired, re-rolled back to a Romulan, but this time as a Delta Recruit... if she'd been post-60 this wouldn't have happened, but she was always meant to be disposable.
As far as KDF Fleet horror stories... I've got none. Our main Fleet leader has always been one to let folks enjoy the game as they choose, and is always positive about folks chipping in without harassing anyone about not putting in x within y days. I've found most of the KDF playerbase to be both friendly and competent, so even my interactions with other Fleets have been positive. The combination of those factors, and the fact that our KDF half of our allied Fleets really does need the help more, is why my initially balanced distribution of characters across the factions has shifted heavily towards KDF/KDFRom.
It's also why I've spent most of my Zen on the KDF half, and why I generally don't spend squat on my Feds... consider the hint dropped. On your toe. Without shoes on. :P
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

Name: Yavi
Race: Nausicaan
Role: Tactical
Right now he's been at level 44 for a long time - working on leveling him now.
I also have a Lethean Sci and will probably make a Reman that I'll take Klink side too.
I also have a few feds that I can't invest that much time in right now
Also have 3 alts of different species, all KDF.
Oh no fleet since my previous one disbanded.
Alien (main) Klingon (sec)
2 of 3 (starter toon by game default FED- haven't played beyond lvl 21)
Fleet lvl 4 IIRC (took over 6 months to lvl4 from lvl3)
Been trying to lvl spire, almost 2 months from lvl 1 to lvl 2, were down to about 4 active members now. Fleet embassy still at lvl1.
Fed SB still at lvl 1.
