Celebrating 5 Years Of Star Trek Online!

Star Trek Online mark a date of five years of live operations is a cause for celebration unlike any other year, and this anniversary we are pulling out all the stops!

Learn more about some of the festivities that will be starting up this week here!

Update: Captains! I'm really excited to share with you some awesome news! We're going to be extending the Anniversary event till March 2nd!

    AWESOME!!! TY for the 400 q-mendations from a mission this should alleviate some of the grind hate we've been feeling as players!! Also: looks like a good anniversary for the whole "5 Year Mission" Heres to hopefully 5 more.

    I'm going to guess it's a universal upgrade kit with a extra bonus to improving rarity.

    Props go to the developer who made the new Samsar.

    It has an eerie look to it. You think the Kobali are unnerving? Wait till you see this ship. I really like the design, because it very subtly mirrors the theme of Kobali. You'll see at noon today. :)

    Grindversary confirmed. However, will we able to unlock a price discount on the starship after we claim it once?

    Is there Alt-friendly discount on the ship, like the Summer and Winter ships? I certainly hope so, given that it seems to be a cross-faction ship, no reason to grind on all three factions if it's not even faction-specific.

    You should have Omega Particles in the Kobali city and Club 47 so that people can't complain that artwork is "useless."

    Not kidding. Especially Club 47 should be used.

    BTW although it doesn't affect me it is good to see the feedback Taco acknowledged last year about the colorblindness issue with the last minigame had an effect.

    As for me I typically get a really quick trigger finger for these kinds of minigames so I should be in good shape. (As opposed to doing races, which I loathe.)

    The grind has returned. Now with even more loading screens and pointless "first come first served" competition...

    Will we at the very least get a discount for the anniversary ship on alt-characters after completing the project on one character?

    We spend all of Season Eight keeping the Voth from getting Omega Particles...so naturally, Q just decides to scatter them all over the galaxy. That's so like him. :rolleyes:

    In all seriousness, it's kind of a wallbanger that we're apparently now going to be making use of something that all three factions (even us Romulans, and we love us some thelaron radiation) seem to have a mutual directive against.

    The Sarr Theln they gave out for the Winter event was T6, so no reason to think it'd be any less.

    I would really like to know this too. Those of us with a gazillion toons would very much appreciate a discount like Summer/Christmas when one of our toons has done it.

    So, will it be discounted after the first one is done? :-)

    At wich Point in time did all the fun and happieness got sucked out of STO?

    Serious the Aniversary was the last remaining Event were none of us had to run around like headless chickens for two weeks and do repatative nonesense.

    Playing STO since Year On did stick with it through all the up and all the downs.
    Yet this is finaly the lowest low it managed to pull off.

    Fine with me if you People are so eager to jump on the oppertunity to happily jump on it i for my part are disapointed by all this all to obvious and blunt Holding back and slowing down but not delivering anything without Agenda attached to the Players.

    Please Cryptic how hard is it atleast once a Year when it should be a celebration for your own achievment that you pulled off another Year in buisness to just thank your players and let em enjoy something without a grind or a artificial timegate.

    I know your metrics Show People don't mind and all the other f2p titles do fine doing so.

    Customer Feedback all free no hidden Agenda attached.
    After the last Year adding all those extra grind, timesinks, lockboxes and not Fixing bugs or working on balancing classes and ship types i stoped buying C-Store Items alltogether.
    An i am not alone with that most in my Flet and lots of Players i am in contact with from other Fleets did the same or did stoped playing alltogether.

    So for the love of god get your senses together and dial back with this nonesense.

    To all those complaining about the "grind:' it's only a "grind" if you think of it that way. For me, I don't think of it as such... that's why I can enjoy it more freely. Oh, and this is the second year that this sort of thing happened, so it's not new.

    Well, no. I decided that only my 3 sci chars would receive the ship last year. But now all of my 11 chars are waiting, especially if the ship trait will be good. :D
