I can't believe nobody else has suggested this:

Tacofangs has wanted to revamp DS9 for a very long time.

My guess is that he's managed to revamp DS9 under our noses.

The Borg presence will be part of a story explanation for the map revamp.
My God! They're gonna destroy DS9 and then we will have the new station from the novels!

    Do NOT want!

They're already setting up the next season...

Remember how easy it was for the Mirror Universe to set up camp in lower DS9? Well, Kurland here forgot about all that and now the Mirror Borg are coming through and assimilating the entire Prime Federation because we're the only ones who ever seem to have any success with the Mirror Empire.

The next season will be held within the Mirror Universe. After grinding Mirror XP levels from 1 to 60, the player then has to grind out the new Mirror Borg Reputation in order to have the strength to go forth and help J'mpok hoist the Klingon Confederation's flag on Earth, at which point the mirror Borg finish assimilating everyone in the name of the Iconians and the player sacrifices all their levels (or pays 2 million Dilithium) to return to the Prime Universe as a now-unassimilated (not liberated, completely unassimilated) character...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

To rob a line: [quote: Mariemaia Kushrenada] Forum Posting is much like an endless waltz. The three beats of war, peace and revolution continue on forever. However, opinions will change upon the reading of my post.[/quote]

    Wouldn't that be from 60 to 1? It's Mirror, right? :)

Nah - not cruel enough. Making him (Gecko) sit through a joint concert involving One Direction and Bieber should do it though.

How would making him listen to his two favorite musicians be torture?

I say make him play PUG the Advanced Queues for a couple hours, that's enough to drive anyone to insanity! LOL

Cryptic really needs to stop trying to hype things up... they haven't the best track record of impressing their player base lately... If they have something amazing, they should just announce it when they're ready without giving people an opportunity to set their expectations too high

Lockbox T6 Borg tactical cube with Assimilate console. Allows you to Take control of enemy ships.

With Borg boarding party, which assimilates the ship and like on the ground when you're assimilated, turns against your allies.

Groan! One Direction is ridiculously popular here in Argentina. It's just horrible.

I think Delta was desperation on the part of Cyptic...and have you noticed how TINY the Quadrant is? The Kazon are everywhere, even though they should be 40,000 light years away from where they are!

You may be joking, but all the Snow Borg stuff in the Winter Event was a hint of things to come... the Borg taking over DS9 or something... basically when the original Dominion Featured Series was going on, they were planing for the Borg invasion at DS9 until the Dominion showed up. Perhaps now is the realization of that event.
Deep Space Nine in HD, make it so!

What? I think everyone has been in agreement they wouldn't do that.

I was suggesting they would destroy it and have the Prophets remake it as a show accurate version.

Taco has said he'd like to remake it from the ground up as more DS9 show accurate.

    My thought was something like:

    The Borg destroy it.

The Prophets rewind time for the station or remake it from Sisko's memory because "The temple must be defended" or something similarly vague.

The social hub gets the revamp first but it would also be likely that the Cardassian front revamp would draw more heavily on a revamped map. They intend to revamp the Cardassian front and that's basically the only thing left to remaster. That could be sped up likely by removing the missions that take place on DS9's interior (aside from the FE episodes which would likely get a reworking) and replace them with missions on a more show accurate DS9 interior.

Perhaps the borg assimilate the station after picking up signs of undine in the sector.
Federation, Klingon and Romulan alliance takes station back, but lower levels are turned into a permanent battle zone.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Why wouldn't the prophets prevent the Borg from destroying DS9 in the first place? I do agree with you in that I think it's going to be a DS9 revamp, which would be welcomed.

When Q said to Q2 "Don't provoke the Borg", it makes me think that the Collective has knowledge or technology that puts them on par with the Continuum and the Prophets.

I mean, even Guinnan seemed to have some ability to combat Q...she did that business with her hands in defense.
