Galactic News Network Spam

Seriously, stop. It's okay if a message appears in chat, it's NOT okay when it pops up in the middle of a screen and disrupts gameplay! :mad:

EDIT: To clarify, it's not a passive message that scrolls on the screen. It's a small window that pops up and disrupts gameplay, requiring you to hit a button to close it.

    every 5 seconds I get a message pop up that says....

    this is a test of the galactic news network...

    The popup message saying "This is a test of the Galactic News Network" every few minutes is highly annoying. Anyone know how to block it?

    Here they finally test something and ppl rage. Be happy it doesnt freeze the game, damn it.

    Im on Drozana station with my Romulan Sci Captain. Been getting these "This is a test of the Galatic News Network" notices every few second (typo is in the message from the game). Is this a bug? Hack? something else?

    Heard in chat other ppl getting it too...

    yes - that's why I quit. Might get online again later...
    there's nothing one can play when constantly getting interrupted!

    WHAT IS WRONG WITH TRIBBLE??? EH? TEST **** THERE. And that is annoying in stfs might have goten a few hundreds killed.

    Testing something huh. Right, is this some sort of pop-up thing that is going to show up every time a new Galactic News Network topic is being posted or something? And what we saw is the initial test of how it is going to look like?

    If this is how they plan to change the yellow scrolling bar to a pop up that you have to dismiss and that greys out your screen it will absolutely destroy combat....

    If they are thinking of announcing all the useless info that we get in the yellow scrolling text bar in to this they better think again.

    Clicking the little cross to close the window rather than the big button seems to stop it coming back. At least for now!

    Don't know if it was because of having various other windows open that might have prevented it or if it was a case I was doing map transitions at the exact time needed for each message; but I didn't get to participate in the test of the system. Perhaps Cryptic could do it a few more times? ;)

    I'm not sure anyone has asked yet, but is there an accolade associated with how many times you get a popup? Any title associated with getting 1,000 popups?
