With the release of today's article detailing the personal log of a Kobali monitoring what appears to be a patient, many speculations have been swirling about what is happening for the 5th anniversary of STO.
I have one I would like to offer up and yes, it will be complete conjecture and probably very fragmented. We all remember the episode Ashes to Ashes of Star Trek Voyager right? Oh no, of well it brings back a crewmen who died very early on in the show as the character Jhet'leya. Could this be the person reading from her personal logs?
The next question then becomes who is the patient in "rebirth"? Could be Harry Kim? It would make sense that Cryptic would spin this anniversary back into Delta Rising. So what ships might we be getting? My guess is on some sort of Kobali ships, beyond that I dare not guess any more.
I did a video awhile back that details
Jhet'leya and the Kobali here.
What does everyone else think might be happening for the anniversary?

And it will be unfair to Klingons.
And Romulans. And PvPers.
Back to the Kobali and Harry Kim.
This Anniversary is shaping up to be all over the place, story-wise.
In all seriousness, I'd love a story that involves someone getting toasted by the galactic barrier.but yes, it really is going all over.
Nobody knows yet but the Kobali Harry Kim version was secretly infected by a neural parasite. After his Kobali transformation is complete and he regains consciousness he will unite the Kobali with the Vaadwaur and the Thalaxians. Using highly sophisticated Thalaxian technology and warships they successfully push the Federation, Klingons and Romulans back to the Alpha quadrant and destroy the sphere.
At this point, during the Anniversary festivities, an Iconian could inexplicably fall out of the sky, and I wouldn't bat an eyelash.
Funny you should mention that, I'm working on my base jumping on New Romulus.
It's Harry Kim... after Nelix worse char on Voyager.
well of course its harry kim, he was flushed out into space by a forcefield failing around a hull breach when two voyagers shared the same space but not antimatter, his body was merely just frozen after the incident, it wouldnt be hard for an obsessed and lonely woman to bring back the harry kim from 35 years ago and turn him into ketan so she can relive the old days of her youth and excitement with the newly improved and original harry kim.
worst part is the storyline wont be dressed as such in detail but basically this harry kim will be in a completely unfamiliar setting and time, people and so on, the trauma of waking up from one moment a human to a kobali and seeing that other harry kim take his life, his girl and everything else that was his, this jhet'laya will be praying on his vulnerability for her own needs.
rather sickening story on that point so far if it turns out like that which it is turning into so far. if i were in harry's state, i would never want to wake up..
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
the Robot is going to go crazy after Dr Smith pulls a relay from his circuits.... wait... nevermind
Serious speculation: Lon Suder?
+1 interwebz to you
yep, I'm sure. There's even evidence of that in the kobali missions.
*Dies laughing*
Well yeah, but I was leaving it open-ended.
Oh, I get it they're trying to capture the female audience, you know the 3 or 4 of them.

My character Tsin'xing
I found Sudor more interesting than some of the regular cast members. Those soulless betazoid eyes... like a doll's eyes...
indeed we only need to see what happened in the will riker / tom riker story line to know how it effects a person to find that someone else is living your life even if that someone is you.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

New. Party. Popper.
New. Party. Pooper.
When deployed, this device actively suppresses all "dance"-related emotes.
It reminds me of the 6th day film with Schwarzenegger, that plot would work here.
As for the ship. Well certain [redacted] recently showed something Vaadwaar flavoured could be on the horizon. But with this new command spec coming as well I would also assume new versions classic ships could be on the way.
Like a new Galaxy, Negh'Var and D'Deridex - classic flagships with new hybrid Boff seating. Probably wrong but it would be nice to see.
But if the last one is anything to go by, could well be some Delta inspired kitbashes.
I dunno, that's all I got.
You can't prevent people to have different opinion. And you can't prevent stupid people either. Now, for the sad fact, idiots are on both side of the fence. Stupidity knows no color, religion, country or ideas whatsoever.
I've seen my share of stupidity since DR (and before). You have the anti-cryptic idiot "BURN EVERYTHING !", and the pro-cryptic idiot "I have a sandwich, you can't be hungry". It's sad, because those 2 type of people have a lot in common. Usually they switch side once in a while.
Well not much hope may be needed consider that's the precident for annivesary events.
Anyway I think the thing to speculate is how the hell this relates to the Borg around DS9 teaser. THAT would make for a good FE, and a fitting one too if there's plans to revamp a certain set of old anniversary ships (Shon gets to play the hero...again), while I just can't see what we'd be doing besides listening to exposition between rehashes of the Vaadwuar ground war with something focused back around the Kobali and Kim. But that stuff is relevant to the last expansion while the Borg, DS9, and questions about what the hell has been happening in the Gamma Quadrant would be entirely tangential.
Damn you Cryptic!
Notable missions: Apex [AEI], Gemini [SSF], Trident [AEI], Evolution's Smile [SSF], Transcendence
Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
Well, there is no clear indication that these two are related. It could be a teaser for something down the road past the anniversary.
Although, it could just be Q doing his usual shenanigans, that never has to make sense.
