Connections Issues starting at around 17 UTC every day

Since a few days I am getting all sorts of connection problems at around 17 UTC to midnight. It almost seems like someone working from 9 to 5 hates his job and unplugs a cable every time he goes home :D

This says that your ISP is throwing away you network data as soon as they leave your router... For a reliable network connection to the STO Servers, your ISP should be providing ZERO PACKET LOSS....

Time to contact your ISP Tech Support and ask them why this is happening...

Thank you very much! I will do that. Guess I'll include these reports?

That problem is currently the case for many people living in Germany (includes myself). It's probably not your fault.

It seems so. I'm facing the same heavy Login problems.
Today, it seems absolutely impossible to Login. It won't even load the launcher properly.

    i'm having the same issue

starts around the time i get home from work, and by the time it gets playable, it's too late.
really pisses me off, until now, i couldn't play because the performance on the new maps was abysmal, and now that i got a new computer that can handle it, the connection gives up. It's only during my free time, and only sto, everything else is fine

you guys are really funny? just simple saying blame ur isp either u cant read the log or you have zero understanding of networking. if you look at the package loss you see right he have a few package loss on his first hop but cogentco is the major problem
    10 --- 100/ 100 =100% 98/ 100 = 98% te4-2.ccr01.bos06.atlas.cogentco.com [66.28.4.254]
    ...

Germans are not the only one with this problems, I am living in malaysia (asia) and had less problems till yesterday night, since that i have high pings about 1000, login problemes, and disconnect problems. I do think Cryptic should consider of changeing the routings for european at least. But also just a quick search in the forum here a lot complain about connections problem as well :> be careful with stupid statements like that.

    ......

Zero understanding of networking? You do know that for a reliable TCP/IP connection you should be having ZERO PACKET LOSS. That if too many 'request to resend' attempts fail in row, the network socket is declared 'dead' and is shut down, resulting in loss of connection... And that 'lost packets' from early in the connection route make further lost packet measurements further down the path unreliable...

A 10% Packet loss by itself is easily more then enough to produce the described symptoms. Until that is corrected, complaining about packet loss with Cogent is a mute point...

Actually, Cryptic has very little control of the connection route used to reach the STO Servers. That decision is actually made by the local ISP, in their choice of which Internet Backbone connection they push their packets onto...
