Do we at least get another day or two to gather our missing Q-Commendations?
Cryptic does not even consider people living outside of the United States, so how are we able to get our ship if the server is constantly down at the evening (consider the timezones in Europe).
Another problem is that for the most part of the evening (since weeks already and Cryptic has not even done anything about it) the server are lagging and not responding in Germany (could also be the case in other parts of Europe). The launcher even fails to load. I think that is not the right way to treat us customers.

I had lag issues too, and crashing, but then someone in the Bugs section talked about Gameplay proxy and that helped for lag and crashing when I was in EU2 proxy.
EU1 is very laggy.
So now I use EU for gameplay proxy and set the proxy to eu2 and no problems really.
And I'm in Finland.
Galavant!

Maybe your internet connection isn't working as you are used to? I've played quite a while lately, and have only experienced occasional lags and one or two disconnects over the last days (Living in Austria using an internet connection with a rather weak transmission rate).
the server does not lag, hardly at all. Players have lag, but its generally not the server, I can count on 1 hand the # of times their server was actually, really and truly, not responding. And all but one of those had a post here about a hardware failure/emergency that needed to be fixed and was being fixed.
They are not treating you anything when it comes to lag... cryptic can't fix every router in the whole internet or beat every ISP into using fiber or fast hardware. I mean, not to be an elitist jerk, but ... I have hot internet. I can't help that... my state invested in infrastructure and my city bought into it big time. I would have to WORK at it to get slow, crappy internet. But the thing is, I have no lag, SNR, or issues, though I am physically very far from their server. Its all about the connection, ISP, and hardware between. Cryptic can't take 1/2 my bandwidth and give it to you. I would if I could, I don't need what I have. But that isnt how it works.
About the downtime --- that is simple. They work, most likely, a 9-5 workday in their timezone. They do the work during, you know, their work hours. Its annoying here in the states too, by the way, not everyone is trapped on one coast, and so their 12 noon outage becomes out "down when you get home from work or school" to the other coast. Its always primetime somewhere... and people play from all over the world. Rotating the times is nonsense --- being an IT guy, I realize that --- there is probably a team that does this, and you want the same team on it each week to avoid problems, and you can't really ask the team to show up at 1 am this week, 4 am that week, 6pm after that, and so on.

No I already checked that. Besides I have a VDSL 50 connection and other games etc. just work fine. Cryptic's servers obviously seem to have connection issues. This has also been variously reported in the German forums.

Wow do you think we live in the Stone Ages here in Germany? I saw your infastructure, it lacks totaly in public transportation.

It seems to me that this is a bit of an intermittien problem.
I live in Norway and the last week I had serisou issues with rubberbanding, lag and server not responding, but only when in Q's winterland.
Every time I tried to do the Daily Ice Race I have suddenly been yanked back around a turn I just rounded.
This in turn as resulted in me going off track and getting disqualified because I thought I was somewhere I was not.
I tried relogging, I tried rebooting my computer, resetting my router, I tried running with both EU, US and no proxy on the launcher options, yet still the problem persist.
I have played online games, both MMOs and regular multiplayer, for 10+ years, but never have I seen the level of lag, rubberbanding and server not responding issues I see in this game on a daily basis.
Some days I cant even map move without getting a server not responding message on my screen, every damned time.
If this is a simple routing issue, then why is STO the only game I know of that has this problem on a daily basis, literally?
When I lived in Gremany in 2011, I was with Kabel Deutschland and had no end of problems with STO. Rubberbanding, random disconnects etc were very frequent but oddly didn't present in any of the other games I played (Eve Online, DCUO). I switched to T-Com and everything improved 100%.

just playing devils advocate but the event started on 4th December and doesn't end till 15th jan, that gives you 40 days to play for the ship, even if you take a 5 days off for Christmas & new year and 5 days for maintenance ect. that still leaves 30 days to get the ships you want and it only takes 25 days to get the 1000 pictures you need to unlock a ship so you should still have 5 days to play with.
that's of course if you started playing from the start but its hardly cryptics fault if you left it till much later.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

What did you do to my Signature file?
Did you not read the addition of re-scaling the image inside your image program?
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

My provider is T-Com, nevertheless the game still lags extremely.

LOL, if it were "server" lg, it would be effecting every person logged into the server. If that is not the case (and it isn't) it is not server lag. It could be your internet provider, or even a blockage upstream from you, but it is not the server.

It's the same reason every year. Some people don't have time or desire to log in, some work, etc. In addition to that, the game servers are constantly down or not responding this year.

use the forum search and you will see that many people all accross europe have reported about rubberbanding and massive lag in the past weeks (this week is extreme)
a good amount of tracelogs were posted showing that it is not a problem of a specific ISP
the response times were all good and nobody experienced any packet losses

It's not cryptic either, cause then it would be an issue for everyone... And it's not...
Funny how people chose to ignore that fact.

As a player from Germany, I can confirm those issues, too.
One thing I can tell for sure is: at least my ISP (UnityMedia / KabelBW) is not to blame for this
After a couple of those server disconnects last year, I started to monitor my connection with PingPlotter to several IPs of Cryptic. So far, all the time I expierenced lags / "server not responding" / disconnects from Holodeck, the latency was perfectly fine. From time to time a very small packet loss <1%, but that's it.
I can only advise Cryptic to either monitor the the connection to German launchers/gameclients or to publish a guide how we can provide some valid and useful monitoring data to them. So far, the information provided (hardware forum) to track those issues down is very limited; e.g. patchserver.crypticstudios.com -> pings 208.95.185.41 - DNS name "xboxpatchserver.crypticstudios.com" - I don't think this has anything to do with STO anymore, but Idk
The same issue is also in Czech Rep. so its not limited to Germany. It usually starts in the afternoon CET (aprox. 17 pm) when STO becomes unplayable.
I can confirm that its not my ISP as I run other MMO's and listen to youtube same time without an issue.
The issue is clearly somewhere underway which means its Cryptic's responsibility.
Cryptic has their contracted partners with SLA's and Im certain if they have a faulty supplier/sub-supplier, Cryptic should be able to push a change of the supplier/sub-supplier throgh.
I hope this is solved before the anniversay event starts.

You're new here, people frequently class route issues as "Server lag" because novice end-users don't comprehend the difference.

Right I see I forget people dont seem to understand the internet is an Infrastructure and not a direct connection from you to your destination.
But yeah I understand some users are not too tech savvy.
However few weeks ago there was an issue like the OP posted that was caused their end so that doesn't help...
NONONONOO...
Everyone KNOWS, that the cable in the back of the computer, is plugged DIRECTLY into the destination you want your computer to go...
It works like the old phones... A lovely lady plugs the cables around.
Lol that would be brilliant load up the client and a little old lady asks you what you would like to play today and plugs you in lol

Your topic title was misleading. But lag free here in the UK at least for me since just after DR launched.
Because not all connections take the same route.
How do you explain that this problem only exists since DR....
I don't need to; correlation does not equal causation.
