Launcher not patching

Is anyone else having this issue? I open the launcher window, it says on the bottom left "Patching" but then nothing happens, no progress being madeon the progress bar etc. Is it not working for you or just moving incredibly slowly?

    I'm new to the game, but I can't imagine this is normal. What's the resolution to this issue? Did your issue get resolved, bartlett24? I've been staring at this same screen for over half the day! Please, help.

    Hello, I have same problems. I'm new to the game and I want to install the free version. I followed all steps and now I've launched the game from ARC.
    After logging in, STO has started to patch the game and the status is: patching.

    There are no signs of advance in the process. I'm still waiting since yesterday (18 hours!).

    Do you know if there'are some solutions / workaround all something just to see if all is going well and I only need to wait........for how long?!?!

    My system is Win 8.1 x64.

    This is an issue that many of us are having - see the treads about network issues, disconnects, and rubber banding.

    Unfortunately nobody from Cryptic has chimed in to comment on the numerous threads...

    I'm having this problem as well... i can never get it to patch
    Been a user of Perfect World Entertainment since 2009.

    ok...so after posting i decided to try the obvious on my part...I checked my antivirus program and windows firewall and added "Arc" to the "Exceptions" list on both..then rebooted my PC and fired up Arc and then STO and it started patching. :D

    And I'm happy to say the patching is underway...but very disappointed at the bandwidth...I'm getting the patch at a trickle pace, and at this rate its gonna take a day or more depending on how many patches/updates there are for me to still DL...:(

    But it's not needed to restart PC.

    I had no problem patching and that was shortly after the Game Servers went offline, could just be down to the amount of people trying to patch the game right now.
