It's not an "I quit" thread, and no, you can't have my LTS account with nothing but lobi/lockbox ships/gear. It's basically the game is getting too buggy/too grindy/too resource sinkhole that it's kinda not fun. Just log in to say hi in opvp and setup doffs. Probably can reach a lot of dill over weeks doing that..
virus, lol. Nothing addressed in those patch notes of note. I might of punned. oO
Feel free to go f#ck off to whatever other game, hold a wankathon, get hit by a bus, whatever you feel like doing that isn't Star Trek Online, but don't bother us about it in the official forums for Star Trek Online. Have a nice life or whatever. But don't expect people to care about your whining, because the crybaby routine is beyond old and I for one have lost all patience with it.
Buhbye.
Was going to say something of my own... but yeah, this more or less sums it up what I'd had in mind to say.

This reads as: From now on I'm going to be a crybaby when I feel others are being crybabies.
Just happens to be the first time in STO history with that many "sales" which normally require spending money all happening at the same time. After LoR was released there was a sales drought for a while (admittedly it was in Spring) whereas there's barely been a week without some "shiny" sale going on. Most have been pretty useless though, however the current get extra zen at the same time as key cost reduction is just for the gamblers.
Chris Robert's on SC:
"You don't have to do something again and again and again repetitive that doesn't have much challange, that's just a general good gameplay thing."

Lol, just took a peek at the Steam chart right now. That line is on a straight path down with nothing to stop it.
Problems:
1) What killed DR was the slow level grind. As soon as that Tau Dewa patrol way of speeding it up was taken away, all players felt the slowness of it and many got frustrated and left.
2) The changes to the queue difficulty/rewards only made happy the tiny fraction of the players who are all about DPS.
3) We still have bugs from as far back as 2011 hanging around because they dedicate about 1 month after releases for new bugs fixing, and anything else older gets fixed if they find time.
4) DR also pretty much killed PvP queues during weekdays thanks to some bad design decisions on the new stuff combined with the gap created by the gear upgrade requirements and spec points grind.
5) Putting a R&D grind that takes about 300 days per school was a bit too much also. Even halving it would be way way better. Anyway, except for crafting special stuff, Mk II vr gear for upgrading, and tech upgrades, everything else is junk.
Not sure about gear upgrades. I'd maybe increase the upgrade chance a bit once you get to Mk 14, because it's a massive dil sink.
I am a lifer and DR has made me re sub back to WOW after almost 2 years. Play Rift too.
The level grind is unreal. It would not be so bad if there were that many DR missions that would level you up. Instead there are very few missions with patrol missions thrown in between which I hate so much. Both those have me not leveling up anymore.
The R&D is also one huge money sink, although I don think it would take much to make it better.
The difficulty of normal missions is out of this world. Normal skilled game play should be easy for everyone to get through. I have no problem with higher difficulties, but don't make the normal so frustrating. Especially with mines and other ships that one shot you, it gets really old dying over and over for terrible mechanics.
I am here everyday for the Winter ship and all that good stuff, I almost regularly log on to to DOFF missions, which is amazing part of the game that WOW has now taken on.
The PVE ques are just sad as heck. I so miss lots of the original stf's that no one ever signs up for, like The Big Dig.
No doubt this is the least amount of people I have ever seen play STO. Looking at the upcoming rumor mill it looks like and I hope they do another "Romulan" size expansion since we may be getting a new playable class.
With highs there are always lows and DR is certainly it. I fear the cost of all the voice acting took away from the bulk of the game.
The only difference between you and him (and the rest of us who dislike where this game currently stands) is that Cryptic has not done something that kicks you in the nards. Just wait for it. It's coming.
Yes, this is true about the communist minorities who frequents the forums more than in game.
All that those whined about the PvE are literally the STO version of Communists. Elite Queues are literally the equivalent of Elite Raids. And you cant do these Elite Raids in other games with the wrong group, the wrong gear and the wrong level.
What all the whiners have been complaining about especially the OP is same access as those who worked to get to that level of game play. However, these whiners dont want to build the right way, dont want to find the right group, dont want to grind the same as the successful players, dont want to buy zen but wants the same rewards as these successful players.
It is literally the same thing as Communism in real life. Wanting to have mansions, $50B of Bill gates but dont want to work for it. You get the same reward/salary but slack around while others work. STO Communism at its finest.

well, when you decide to leave can i haz your stuff then? :P
as for the doom of sto, no idea what the devs have planned for season 10, but there is a lot riding on season 10 and if that fails then chances are it could lose a lot more player confidence to get something good together for future releases. however if cryptic strikes back and brings something good out, it may buy some time however i fear not that much and then things ride of 10.5 if they are going that direction after.. who knows.
my point is i can only guess like you without any clue of what cryptic are upto. but id rather wait then pour hot water on cryptic to scold then at this point.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

I'm going to relist this, because it's a nice list, going to make a couple amends though
1) Any expectation of speed on expansion leveling is ... absurd. It's fine exactly the way it is. But, this is kind of a "dollhouse game" where people have many alts and they love them. The leveling speed for alts should be doubled, flat out. Once a player has 1 max level.
2) You know, the massive amounts of shield and hull on the advanced and elite que ships were meant to force you to use the upgrade system and buy dilthium and research mats. Not just to please the dps-people. Quite frankly, the dps people demolish the current content and they need another 1-2 levels of difficulty. Especially on ISA, the thing they use to measure and test.
3) The bugs are crazy, they make the game look like complete TRIBBLE.
4) no clue about kerrat pvp or other pvp
5) The R&D grind is too much. The traits at 15, too much too long of a time. And, you can only make the good kits at 15? Too much. You are right, doubling the speed would help.
Meanwhile my playtime in other games is OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Same here.
Lately, i play a lot of other games, and hell yeah, the fun is back again.
I feel having overall even more time left, as the repetitive, tiring, consuming grinding is no more.
And to be honest,I was expecting to miss Craptic's ultimate money grab experience. But actually it's much less, than feared.
I hope, that the course of the game will change again, perhaps together with some responsible heads. Until then, i will keeping reading the forums and writing reviews of DR.
I stopped playing completely a few days into the winter event and went to other games, I still lurk on the forums to see what's happening with STO but I cant face the extreme grinds these days.
If some miracle happens with STO I will probably come back but atm with it as it is, no thanks as before DR I was enjoying the game and after its become a lot less fun
I wasn't playing the game for about 2 years. In those years, the game did continue without me, for some bizarre reason. I mean, it even got a frigging expansion and there were winter events and summer events and what not.
It's okay to stop playing. The game is likely still be there if you decide to come back, and if it isn't, well, you got along without it, and if you don' come back, it doesn't matter what happens with it.

if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

But dude, you can dress your Embassy BOFFs as farmers!
someone had some spare change lying around the house it seems.

Forum date does not correspond to actual play/game date.
That's totally worth it! Time to delete the entire steam library and play STO Dress up doff farmer simulator DR edition!

Look at Legacy of Romulus: After the release spike in May, a steady loss for four months.
LOR must have been terrible for STO, too.
