    Yayyyyyy, "balance!"

Yeah and the devs also said that progression would be the same after the skillpoints nerf and we all know how bollocks that statement was.

I concur with the bollocks statement ;)

But isn't that like saying all 6 weapon sci ship's are useless? Since most of them 6 weapon carriers are also science heavy. They can grav well. Tbr. Etc. Other then lacking sensor analysis. I see them as big science ships with hangers.

I agree it sucks. But not as gloom as everyone make it.

If we're going to go by how the game has changed since DR, it's still bad.

As mentioned before, most carriers are 6 weapon ships and a bunch of them are SCI oriented. If we're to play that they are Science Vessels with 2 hangars, technically that's correct. However, from the Carriers that I have and on checking their upgrades:

Recluse, Atrox, Kar'Fi, JHDC, Obelisk, Sarr Theln, none of them have have the mastery trait to have +Exotic Dmg Bonus. None of them Sensor Analysis and of course, none have Gather Intel. I do not have the Fleet Vo'Quv so I cannot vouch if it has any improvements like +Exotic Dmg Bonus. I don't own a Narcine either, so can't say for certain on that.

Dedicated Science Vessels however do have Sensor Analysis and even the T5U ones have traits to improve Exotic Dmg as the very first starship mastery tier. And in a game where Science has to stack ridiculously high stats to even have somewhat passable performance, this is a big deal, most esp so for the PGen/Exotic Dmg aspect of Science play.

So in today's game, the hangar pet nerf hurts even more.

Being able to Grav Well is nothing special. There's plenty enough Cruisers, Escorts that can Grav Well 1, and that's more than enough for CC purposes. GW3 is merely a bloated luxury.

I thought the increase was around 10%

The amount of increase depends on your setup.

    Rough numbers:
    • If you have no skill and no energy weapon consoles: +50% damage from Mark 12 to Mark 14
    • If you have Starship Weapon Training and Starship Energy Weapons skill but no energy weapon consoles: +34% damage from Mark 12 to Mark 14
    • If you have Starship Weapon Training and Starship Energy Weapons skill and two (2) energy weapon consoles: +29% damage from Mark 12 to Mark 14
    • If you have Starship Weapon Training and Starship Energy Weapons skill and four (4) energy weapon consoles: +25% damage from Mark 12 to Mark 14

Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.

What pet dps nerf are you guys talking about I just checked how much damage each of my Elite Slavers weapons do and its the same as always, from 6000 to 8000 from each photon torp, which fire every 6 seconds from a slaver, and 200 to 400 damage from thier disruptor array. I don't remember what the damage was from the Quantum mine.

But I have an easier time keeping fighters up, either through increased survival or a quick launch cd, which means my dps is likely higher then it used to be (accept again voth, my pets never liked fighting the voth with thier damage returning special shields, they never figure out to target the safe shield facing and what not).

Crits are even higher 24000. It said like 24,000 (14,000) not sure what that means.

They balance the game for Tier 1 DPSers, not the herd of trekkies. So of course any nerf is going to hit the bottom end ten times as hard.
