So what you are saying is: I'm not playing the game but I want to whine about what is going on in the game. You sir are a freaking genius.
I logged in a few days ago... worked the market for 10 min and cashed out a couple hundred million more EC.. if I do come back and play more (used to be 4-5 hours a day easy) I would hate to have inflation ruin my 11 or 12 Billion war chest. lol
I wine cause Cryptic has been TRIBBLE a game I love up a little bit every patch for 3+ years now. Yes It has gotten to a point where I am having actual FUN somewhere else. That doesn't mean I wouldn't come back and spend more time in STO if Cryptic removed head form derri
If so much of the playerbase is dependent upon a single, mindless spacebar smash PvE mission (seriously, you barely even have to move around once the groups start flowing in), what does that say about the content and quality of the game?
More importantly, what does it say about the playerbase?
So given the choice between "Keep everything that people already hate, and make them hate the one thing they tolerate," and "make the things that people hate better" you seriously favor the former?
These are no facts but just my opinion based on my observations. STO is a project of a bunch of talented guys, who are really trying hard, but getting constantly nerfed from above, and thus are forced to delive a product which is ultimately & primarily developed for profit. Everything else is going to get fixed along the way.
Dont quote me on that but I think that cryptic had no real choice but to go that route. There was no more time left for any further testing and they were forced by PWE to stick to their schedule and we, the playerbase are now paying for the consequences of these purely marketing related decisions.
I don't know, everything felt just like that from the very beginning of the release and I can't possible imagine any other reasons... because after all, that way, they've set their very own product at risk, and who with a sane mind would do what they've done with DR voluntary?!

12 billion? How the hell did you do that? And I thought my 2 billion was pretty good.
And yeah similar. So many people get into the 'if you hate it why are you still here?" snippiness, when the point is 'cause I like what the game was/could be if they'd just fix X Y and Z,' but its a logic often ignored.
Only have 1-2 billion in liquid EC. The rest is stores of traits / ships ect from lock boxes. I have for instance 20 or so bethan cruisers. Not worth to much right now... but should I end up back more full time at some point I'm sure they will sell for more after they are 2-3 lockboxes in the past. Once you get to a point where you can take a bunch of stuff that is undervalued and store it and forget it the EC numbers will go up pretty quick. Every lockbox has a nice sweet spot at about its mid life point where you can horde stuff you know will go up in value nicely.
Also bought a lot of peoples keys from them... which means I have somthing like 18k in lobi crystals. So even if the T6 Ships end up being the only ones of value later at least I know I can pick up 12-15 of them for resale real easy.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
I love STO, but STO is also why its doubtful that I'll ever play an MMO again, too much content requires other players, which creates conflicts like this.
Instead of nerfing Agrla why don't they fixed the rewards for everything else?
I personally am doing Agrla alot lately, but only because I'm still working towards level 60 so I can do the latest episode. When I'm done, I'll likely do it far less often.
Its also great when you don't have time for something plot heavy and ingrossing, nor is it annoyingly complicated like some of the qued advanced events have gotten.
Nerf argala and there will be even fewer people in the pve queues as more people will quit. The fix is to give a fair amount of XP per PvE queue instead of trying to TRIBBLE us over on everything we do in this game. If PvE queues where paying out skill points at a rate of say 5-10 runs per spec point you'd see allot more people playing them. Instead its something more along the lines of 40-50 runs per spec point which is just insulting.

Sucks to be them. You know this exact thought has occurred to me in the past but quite frankly, Cryptic can't just sell their soul to the devil and then think everyone will just be fine with that.
Nerf everything!!!!!!!! Don't stop at Argala; Nerf these forums as well. I think we should have to wait 1000 seconds between posts.
Now I've got an image stuck in my head, of a bald and heavily tattooed Romulan Dev with a funky lookin' Nerf-gun in his hands, standing at the transporter platform in ESD...

I agree with the OP. We should nerf everything until there is nothing left, instead of facing to the real problem.
That's what every doctor does. They heal the symptoms, but never the cause. It's fine, the patient have better chances of survival that way. Always sick, but you feel great !
How come the OP didn't say "buff the non DQ patrols"
It gets back to balance. If all the patrols rewarded XP based on time and the NPCs scaled to the player and difficulty, then the players would be free to play the content they found fun.
As far as increasing XP in the Qs, I don't think it would be a good idea. The Qs are for the Marks and shiny (bmp, apc, etc.) Everything else is for the XP.

What they should do is increase the XP rewards in all other missions. The whole 'problem' the OP is describing began when they decreased all the xp rewards throughout the game and increased the rewards for teh Delta Quadrant.
XP rewards should be the same (but of course depenent on effort and time spent in the mission) throughout the game.

@_@. Hides behind Q.
Nerfing insufficient. Mandatory extermination demanded.
