Cant' stay logged in for more than 15 mins

This is absolutely ridiculous this game is almost five years old and have the DC's gotten any better? no in fact they have gotten worse.

Before the winter event I dc'ed maybe once every hour after the winter event launched it's ever 10-15 mins if I'm lucky I stupidly bought 20 keys last night and could not even stay logged in long enough to use them.

Cryptic please fix the bug infested disease of a game how you can be content with the state of this debacle boggles my mind.

Oh and before the white knights ask "file a bug report? or what you system hardware/connection" it's been done repeatedly for years nothing has changed still people dc and lets not forget the rubber banding star ships that we all enjoy, oh and every other online game i own works fine except god 'ol STO

    While the Cryptic servers were never shining examples of stability, getting DC's every 15 minutes seems extreme. Maybe your connection runs through a bad hub or something ? :o

    To be completely fair, it just might be your internet. I had a stable connection at my college dorm for the longest time, rarely DC'd, then as I'm moving I'm stuck at a hotel with crappy internet, speed is 11MBPS but it's a weak signal, and I DC a lot.

    Every 15 minutes is pretty extreme like someone else said so something else is going on.

    He's not the only one. I get dc'd about every 20min or so and then it takes at least 5-6min for the characters just to load up/move to a new instance. I ran a connection test and I'm getting 10Mbit up, 5Mbit down - that or its vice versa, I forgot, but that's still at least 5Mbit either way which is more then sufficient for STO's requirements - so its not on my end.

    I've had no problems running my Alts through the Ice Race for the Q-Pics grind this morning, so its unlikely to be a Cryptic problem...

    Now if you were to post some decent network diagnostic information, we could find out what is actually causing your problem...

    I'm having extreme trouble logging in: Login timeouts, Connection to the server lost, rubberbanding and then connection lost, unable to connect to patcher, etc.

    I'm logging in from Germany and this scenario happens every night for the past week or so.

    Also, it's not on my end as other online games are working just fine!

    I'm logging in from the East coast of the USA and I'm getting terrible lag and disconnects. Rubber banding on ground or space, it doesn't make a difference. My tracerts are slowing down here " 10 193 ms 197 ms 23 ms te3-2.ccr01.bos06.atlas.cogentco.com [154.54.46.130]", every other number is in the 13 - 33ms range.

    well I too have been having issues not connecting to the game just staying online with the game I get disconnected everytime I log in I sometimes can make it to the space view and sometimes I cant but I have contacted my isp and they ran a bunch of tests and they say nothing is wrong on their end so I have to assume its a cryptic thing it started when the winter event was released and nothing I do can keep in the game anymore and ofcourse cryptic has you jumping thru hoops with the support tickets I think they do that to keep you busy till they figure it out or you give up im guessing lol :mad:

    I wonder if this has anything to do (probably not....) with the NK hacking of Sony and a few other corporate servers.

    The problem with the Crashes has to be recent as I had no problems with crashing at all. Then after the Winter Wonderland Patch it started, first just while duing a Tides of Ice event and then latter during any STF. After todays Elachi patch I had it crash while standing next to Q and just hitting I to look at my invintory.

    Something was done on the server side of things as I made no changes to my own system.

    Yeah I have beat my head against the wall running tests and going back and forth between my isp and sto ever since the winter event started and yes im getting disconnected like every 5 to 10 min or so and I have not changed anything at all on my end same net speeds and every site and every game I try online plays just fine no issues So I feel its on cryptics end they changed something with the servers to make this happen its just what cause when I get dc I get no message no pop up no information at all just back to the log in screen and I just don't know anymore whats worst is I just dropped money to get me a new ship loadouts and just got it all set up from the weekend before now its like I just threw the money away if they cant fix this problem :mad:
