Starfleet Dental is officially conducting it's first bi-weekly informal community morale survey, a service brought to you by our very own SFD Ministry of Peace and Prospterity (a relatively new subordinate office underneath the larger umbrella organization of the SFD Glorious Motherland Propaganda and Agitation Department). As a fleet with one eye on community building and another on player support and assistance, Dental is always interested in hearing informed, constructive feedback from the general playerbase.
Reponses will be read, and suggestions will be heard. We have always believed in lobbying for the common player, the grinders, the proletariat of Star Trek Online, PWE's bread and butter.
1. On a scale from 1-30, please rate your current level of satisfaction with the STO player community.
2. What changes would you like to see from the players themselves?
3. What can Cryptic/PWE do to further enhance social-gaming and community building?
4. Please respond with "Agree" or "Disagree": I am an active and social player when logged into STO.
5. Please respond with "Agree" or "Disagree": I get a great deal of satisfaction when playing STO with others in the community.
6. Please copy this sentence exactly as it appears: I appreciate Starfleet Dental's efforts to make this game more player and family-friendly.
7. Do not mark here:
8. How have the STO community dyanmics changed within the last two months? For better or worse? Explain.
9. Please respond with "Agree:" The Dear Leader will provide for all those who he deems worthy.
10. Further comments:
Thanks for taking the time to respond to this humble survey. Hopefully we, as a community of players who care about Trek and the values it espouses, can pull together and build a stronger, happier playerbase.
Aren't poles/surveys against forum rules and as such doomed to being locked deleted?
poles eh? Oops, I broke a rule too, questioning spelling and grammar.
Not being a social gamer, I can't contribute a thing except disagreeing that I am a social gamer. I play it like a solo game mostly and that works for me. Big turnoff on being social is most people want to chat with external tools that do voice and sound like everyone talking is underwater with a 5+ second lag delay. PWE can't fix this, the problem is lack of bandwidth combined with cheap mics.
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.
7. YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO, FASCISTS! I MARK WHERE I WANT!!
On a more serious note, my morale is just fine, and is not dependent on whether or not others agree with me. I'd be playing right now, except that STO missions take a little while to run through, and I have things that need to be accomplished this afternoon. Later, though...
1. On a scale from 1-30, please rate your current level of satisfaction with the STO player community.
With the player community? I'd give it a 3. For effort.
2. What changes would you like to see from the players themselves?
I'd like the Hobos to stop being such utter tools. Kell is a special sort of tryhard.
3. What can Cryptic/PWE do to further enhance social-gaming and community building?
Add more PVP war zones. Add more opportunities to interact. This game seems to be designed for very antisocial people.
4. Please respond with "Agree" or "Disagree": I am an active and social player when logged into STO.
Disagree. 90%+ of my login time is idle or performing non-intensive tasks like doffing. I sneak a Kerrat session whenever possible, but it's rarely possible.
5. Please respond with "Agree" or "Disagree": I get a great deal of satisfaction when playing STO with others in the community.
Agree. Kerrat, specifically. It's the reason I play STO. I enjoy the freeform PVP. Premades, not so much.
6. Please copy this sentence exactly as it appears: I appreciate Starfleet Dental's efforts to make this game more player and family-friendly.

7. Do not mark here:
F**k the police.
8. How have the STO community dyanmics changed within the last two months? For better or worse? Explain.
For worse. My primary PVP opponents, the Hobos, have turned into unlikeable jackasses, and started running sci spam builds designed to remove the fun of fighting them and ensure their survival. I have retaliated in kind, as have many others on my team. Now PVP blows.
9. Please respond with "Agree:" The Dear Leader will provide for all those who he deems worthy.
Agree. (Under duress.)
10. Further comments:
Give me all your money or I'll klll you, this is a robbery. I have a gun.
2. For the most part, I haven't had any negative encounters. For the few I have come across, usually players wound up waaaaaay to tight, I'd encourage them to simply take a moment, think of baby epohhs, and breathe...
3. Communicate like they did earlier this week. It was wonderful. Perhaps they could schedule a "Forum Hour" into their day.

8. Worse. It seems to me that since the release of DR, things have gone to hell. There's been a bit of disgruntlement for a while, but lately it seems to have escalated to a full on player revolt. When the Tau Dewa nerf bomb hit and took away Specialization it really felt like Rome was burning. Though, to be fair, this does seem to have subsided a fair bit since then, which I believe to be a good thing.
9. Agree
10. Further comments: Thank you Nabreeki for your efforts to facilitate community by bringing us all together. My everlasting gratitude to Dental, and affiliates, for the game changing public service channel which opened up free holding access to the players. May Dear Leader bless and shine upon you, forever.
Thank you for the T6 Galaxy Class. - I support Tovan Khev. - Please bring back the exploration missions.

Ambassador Spock:
"Since it is logical to conclude that you will kill us in any event, I choose not to cooperate. "
And I use the word "almost" very loosely.

*offers some suspenders* wouldn't want that loose "almost" to fall down in public.

Well, you can't use mine.
I'm normally sort of OK with you guys, but I'd prefer not to be affiliated with you guys in any way, shape, or form.
I'll use and recommend NoP Public Service because it's genuinely a great thing, but other than that? No.
