and the trolls come out of the woodwork to bash the person with a different opinion than them. go on. continue to prove my point. i gave a well thought out post with an explanation of my points, and the response i get is the equivalent of monkeys throwing poo. (not all of you, some of you are reasonable, you know who you are lol)
It wasn't a well thought out post. It covered every point made and counter-made over the course of discussions for the last week. Then it basically said, because the dev's acted the way they did, those complaining should just accept it and move on. Sorry but it doesn't matter where it is tyranny is not tolerable. It was clever of D'Angelo to blame a minority of players (especially ones with an already large following of haters) for the problems that were in there entirety their failure.
I couldn't give a flying fark about those who apologise or support people who force others into submission through exploiting their position of power or influence. That's what occurred here, the exploitation was from the Dev's/PWE whereas the players who ranked up faster than the dev's wanted all got hit instead of dealing with it in a more mature manner. Amazing how many problems ego's cause...
So how much does it help when I point out my opinion of your opinion of his opinion? If we keep doing this, it should free up the entire forum, right?
In different circles we keep holding our ground,
Indifferent circles, we keep spinning round and round and round...

But it does run up their server bills nicely
Hell it's quite simple to put the screws to Cryptic/PWE. Simply everyone jump in and play the game without buying anything with cash. Hard to make happen, but would certainly make them think twice about blaming the players for their own failures.
Chris Robert's on SC:
"You don't have to do something again and again and again repetitive that doesn't have much challange, that's just a general good gameplay thing."
Firstly it wasn't a majority of players who asked for harder content. It wasn't even a majority of players who participate in the forum. And even if it were, that does not justify changing the overall dinamic of difficulty to the whole game and everyone. You simply add a level of dificulty to those who want more. It's simple.
Moreover, consider that you are getting many threads of people that are against the raised difficulty. If the majority of the players wanted a tougher game, you would have more threads asking for that than the ones we're getting against it, don't you think?
And you say people don't get that Elite is Elite. If you are getting tired of the threads, that means you read them And if you have read them, you'd know they aren't about Elite, they are about Advanced, and sometimes even about normal! And what you are getting is a lot of people who did Elite easily and now can't even do Advanced. Are you complaining about threads you didn't read?
But we do agree on something, I found the new story quite enjoyable. Despite the break in the episodes run (with the leveling issues and the patrol missions) I can honestely say I liked it a lot.
Your thread title uses the phrase "nerd rage". And then you complain about people being rude to you.
Muppet.
That's a clearer way of putting it than I did. There have been a bunch of threads like that of late, that start off with insults or insulting comments to some of the players out there and then either the fake innocence or the genuine "what?" that takes place when folks respond in kind...
I am bored of it as well. Thread after thread whining about the same complaints from people who apparently know everything about game development, marketing and business strategy going on lengthy tirades about how Cryptic are evil incarnate and how to make it all better again.
Don't get me wrong however, because I am also bored of forum heroes coming in to post all the same tired counter-arguments, belittle and insult other players and insuring that every one of those awful threads devolves into the same argument.

This won't go away until everyone shuts up.
you know what?....i agree. i kinda regret putting up the opening post now. I was trying to open some closed eyes out there and get people to see that things werent as dark as everyone was making it out to be. but in retrospect the people causing waves need an audience, and i realize that threads like this one are pouring gas on the flame.
