...Personally, I imagined being able to command my very own starship from my bridge, help security repel boarding parties,.... go exploring strange new worlds and discover new civilizations generated with an advanced, improved Genesis system, going where no man has gone before. ....., move over to the Foundry side and create my own expansive and detailed social maps, intriguing missions with many possible outcomes, and challenging Plaver versus Enemy and Player versus Player fleet actions.... Heck, I imagined being able to play any of a large number of roles and factions, from a Suliban mercenary working for the Romulan Empire and flying a stolen Jem'Hadar attack vessel (Not obtained from getting lucky on some money-wasting scam, but obtained by skill and cooperation with other players), to a loyal Cardassian Gul of the Fifth Order, in command of a Keldon-class Warship, fighting in the name of the glorious Cardassian Union.
...I cannot do any of those things.
(Yes, I am aware that all of this is far too much to ask for, and would take years of development work. But all I'm saying is that there is a lot that this game could've been, and a lot that it isn't. I don't mean that it should be all of this, merely that some of this is the sort of thing I was expecting in a Star Trek virtual world.)
i took out everthink from your quote that you can do right now or they told us already we can do later
even in RSI - Star Citizen you wont be able to do all of that
some of it you can do and i hope other you can do soon in Star Trek Online
but i wish it wasnt an MMO were you only can fight on ground and with ships no real exploration no real mining like in EVE-Online and to mutch playing over and over the same Missions to get Dili or Marks or EC ... and i have the feeeling we only get new Ships because with 18 Cpt the Missions are fun maybe 3 times then boring as hell
And i think its all why the Game went Free to Play i whould Love the Game more if it whould never went free to play.
And if i dont whould love Star Trek i whould not play it at all.
18 Cpt on the way to 60: 14 of them are already 50 or over 50, one is 60 and 3 almost 43

I still like this game but the only thing that makes me mad is the forums. So many people here ready to attack you just because you enjoy the game or have a different opinion.
Well, my little skin-challenged friend. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that people tend to the extremes with their stated opinions. Either everything is amazing and the best ever or everything sucks. People also tend to read specific complaints/criticism in that way.
yesterday and the day before I believed I created a whiner i am guessing it was the 400,000 unrefined dil with marks, prats, and mining by means of mega surplus cashout lol

Is their an mmo that doesn't have grind? Their May be a few, but I haven't played them. So if sto has what all other mmo I have played before has, I am not angry.
Maybe if I played a non grindy f2p mmo, I can get mad at sto
Did I say STO is the first MMO ever with grind?
Don't play this "refute something that didn't actually get said to make it look like that's what got said" game, it's not impressive.
I said a handful of new episodes is not "months" of content, nor is the creating the need to repeat the same content over and over again make that count as "new" content.
The game is just packed with people. People are having fun.
Everyone I have talked to loves DR.
But when I read the forums I see a lot of people who are really really mad.
So, if I dont see the bugs that people are angry at. If I don't really know about whatever happened in tas dewae last week.
If the extra dilithium weekend is awesome. And the content and new systems the game created makes me happy. If the fact that I have months of stuff to do is is super. If I hadn't spent a single penny in this game since beta.
How can I get mad like the rest of you?
I really and bored at being happy at how Star Trek online is progressing.
Turn me to a whiner please.
How is cutting the payout for dilithium and then turning around and increasing the percentages for one weekend considered an event or celebration DR is doing so well?
Payout for Infected normal used to be 500 dilithium without an increase. With the event its now 360 with the bonus dilithium. Where is the logic in this being called a celebration?

Oh I'm sorry. You didn't mention the grind in sto?
Btw, DR isn't finished. It was just the initial push.

Because I had 4k in omega rep that I handed in yesterday for a great deal of dilithium. I bank it for these weekends.
that way, I don't have to worry about it again until the next time these weekends come up again.
I don't think you are stupid. I don't think anyone is.

Haven't you heard? the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many lol
Oh yes, the game is booming, pve ques especially are choke full.
On the plus side for the first time in months I don't experience any lag on ESD due to number of players.
I wish the ground maps had more activity. They are fun and have decent rewards. I do not understand the cooldown timer. It's completely unnecessary. If the goal was to get people to use more maps, it did not work for everyone, perhaps many. If it was to combat griefers (as I've read here), that was a sloppy and lazy way of preventing the abuse. There are many systems in other MMOs to deal with that problem and STO could have adopted any of them. Although it did occur to me last night that with enough alts, you could just play the same maps from each of them while you wait for the timers to end. Wonder if they consider that an exploit. You just don't know with this company anymore! >.>

Not having the same opinion as you doesn't equal whining.

"What do yo want?" makes you want to conquer the galaxy.
"Who are you?" makes you speak in riddles and never gives straight answers.

Sentinal Prime: "We were gods once! all of us! but here, there can only be one!!"
muahaha!
Lol, yes and, we would still wind up with what we have now, to be angry about!
:P

oh absolutely, i mean i can't even move in there it's just THAT congested, like 30 minutes JUST to get to the exchange alone
