The game is just packed with people. People are having fun.
Everyone I have talked to loves DR.
But when I read the forums I see a lot of people who are really really mad.
So, if I dont see the bugs that people are angry at. If I don't really know about whatever happened in tas dewae last week.
If the extra dilithium weekend is awesome. And the content and new systems the game created makes me happy. If the fact that I have months of stuff to do is is super. If I hadn't spent a single penny in this game since beta.
How can I get mad like the rest of you?
I really and bored at being happy at how Star Trek online is progressing.

All it takes is a question to turn into a whiner?
That puts my entire childhood into a different light.
You stated that anybody with a complaint was a whiner...and then proceeded to...
You're a whiner by your standards, not mine - but since it was your thread, figured we'd play by your rules.
If it were by my standards, then it would be the understanding that different folks enjoy different things and so things one might enjoy or not enjoy has little to do with what another does or does not, since there is no pleasing everybody. So that if there was somebody that was not enjoying what I was, and they had a complaint about it - that would not make them a whiner...
Which is why I would not have pointed out your were whining in almost any other thread, but since you laid out the definition yourself...well, there you have it.
"the fact that I have months of stuff to do is is super."
A handful of new episodes and repeatable patrols full of massive hit point bags is "months of stuff to do"?
A huge xp grind and a nerf to xp rates is not content in and of itself, you know?
Is their an mmo that doesn't have grind? Their May be a few, but I haven't played them. So if sto has what all other mmo I have played before has, I am not angry.
Maybe if I played a non grindy f2p mmo, I can get mad at sto
For starters: Imagine and picture in your mind what "Star Trek Online" could have been. Think about all the potential that lies within. Then, open your eyes and start up the game. Congratulations, you entered the first circle of rage.

I am pointing out that their is a great deal of angry people on the message boards.
They have these issues like bugs and a gameplay issue and they are angry.
I want to be just like them. I need a mentor
Ok maybe asking for assistance was the wrong thing to do. I am just confused.
Maybe I should shut the game and message board off and meditate until I start complaining.

Turn me to a whiner please.
Well Let me put it to you in this perspective. When it comes to the voice overs, how much I love that they are continuing the story of Voyager and how much I like the ST lore I am happy.
But...
When it comes to how they are handling this situation with their design flaws, blaming the consumer for playing their game in the way that they intended by their behavior during the PTR before the nerf, calling it an exploit, adding an even longer grind to a grind they admited was too long in the first place (remember the statements on reputations?) Requiring dilithium not as a one time charge mind you but multiple charges over and over again on tech upgrades (where is all that going? There's no NPC that needs all that dilithium they could have handled it better for upgrades), and nerfing the xp from everything along with the dilithium rewards by 70% (which anyone with a brain would tell you is extreme) I'm not happy at all. Whoever they have in charge over there deserves to lose their job at this point imo.
And this is coming from a guy who:
1: Didn't do the Tau Dewa patrols to level ships
2: is now stuck waiting for them to get off their thumbs and restore what they took out so I can continue building Rom rep normally
3: Bought the pack despite my valid concerns over the way they've been treating science space skills for years now
4: Continues playing because I have friends there.
trendy or whatever their name is shouldn't have a job at this point imo because that's how terribly bad this was handled. This was just as big a blunder to me as when they added DR to the GW2 loot algorithms and then told thousands of players in the Arenanet forums that it was all our imaginations that these rewards weren't showing up in our bags while playing the way they intended us to play.
For starters: Imagine and picture in your mind what "Star Trek Online" could have been. Think about all the potential that lies within. Then, open your eyes and start up the game. Congratulations, you entered the first circle of rage.
I imagined all the planet surfaces looking like Northern California. None do.

And the curious part, so to speak, was where you said the following...

Yes and I apologize. I will try to find another way to get mad without asking the people on these boards.

Hrmm, it would appear that you're getting mad, eh? The reading comprehension is dropping...usually a sign of impending rage, eh? Trying to play things off with a bit of feigned acquiescence for a little passive aggression...usually a sign of impending rage, eh? Can't wait to see the next reply...more signs of impending rage, eh?
If you are enjoying DR then have at it. Many of us have serious, legitimate complaints about this expansion is doing to the game. I don't see anything to refute those arguments in here.

I imagined all the planet surfaces looking like Northern California. None do.
...Personally, I imagined being able to command my very own starship from my bridge, help security repel boarding parties, customize my ship's interior layout and style in the Shipyard, go exploring strange new worlds and discover new civilizations generated with an advanced, improved Genesis system, going where no man has gone before. Or, just hanging out in Club 47 or on Risa and dancing or talking with my fellow captains. And if I got bored of all of those things, I could log out of my Holodeck character, move over to the Foundry side and create my own expansive and detailed social maps, intriguing missions with many possible outcomes, and challenging Plaver versus Enemy and Player versus Player fleet actions. I also imagined being able to create my own division and rank uniforms for everyone from Crewmen to Commanders, and have every member of my ship's crew wear them. I imagined being able to customize the layout and design of my quarters. Heck, I imagined being able to play any of a large number of roles and factions, from a Suliban mercenary working for the Romulan Empire and flying a stolen Jem'Hadar attack vessel (Not obtained from getting lucky on some money-wasting scam, but obtained by skill and cooperation with other players), to a loyal Cardassian Gul of the Fifth Order, in command of a Keldon-class Warship, fighting in the name of the glorious Cardassian Union.
...I cannot do any of those things.
(Yes, I am aware that all of this is far too much to ask for, and would take years of development work. But all I'm saying is that there is a lot that this game could've been, and a lot that it isn't. I don't mean that it should be all of this, merely that some of this is the sort of thing I was expecting in a Star Trek virtual world.)
I still like this game but the only thing that makes me mad is the forums. So many people here ready to attack you just because you enjoy the game or have a different opinion.

This. The game is still entertaining to me. However because of the raging of the boards I am ready to quit the boards. I gave up on my KDF and Rom characters because of how the KDF players and Rom players complain all the time.

all the above is an entitlement claim, by all accounts in my book it is a form of needing some cheese to go with that whine however there are trolls who just attack because they feel threatened by others.
with the former, it depends how you want to see your point as, coming across as someone who is looking to force an opinion where it has already been stated is just another opinion, no more or less valid then the next one, but sometimes there can be a legitimate reason or question come along to find an answer to.
as for the latter it makes me a target, im arrogant and a hypocrite but i wont ever deny that i am a human and the conflicting values that comes with being one, yes looking in a mirror helps :P. but everyone is different and your gonna get these arguments for where one side wont provide any reason for why they do something then you get to a point where it turns into a crapstorm in a bucket or you ignore em and get on with it.
thats life on this game and forum, being a keyboard warrior is fun sometimes and you are already there.

Not so strange, my Fed character is quite satisfied with the endless ESD overhauls, the short way to the Lobi pickup, and the ability to sit in a Cruiser and solo Elite content without having to work for it. :P

No need for that...you already did with your OP.

That puts my entire childhood into a different light.
My character is flying to the dilithium mine so I came on he message boards
"I have sandwich, so you can't be hungry."
When my daughter was a kid and was hungry, I would give her an apple and she wouldn't eat it because she wasn't hungry for that.

Maybe it's month's worth of stuff to do if you can only manage 10 DPS.
An obvious troll thread to entice the critics to come argue with you until it gets locked.
Now, if you happened to write a post that is angry at other players for being so negative well...problem solved.
However, seeing as people have already replied to you will all the usual 'I am right, you are wrong' rubbish, it's certainly a good start.
