Thank you all for making Delta Rising the most successful update ever for Star Trek Online. We believe that Delta Rising showcases the best storytelling, art, and game play that weve produced yet, and it has been fantastic to see so many captains joining the Delta Alliance to face the threats in the Delta Quadrant alongside members of the Voyager crew.
Star Trek - Star Trek Online Lobi
To celebrate the success of the expansion, were giving away 20 Lobi each day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this coming weekend. To get your free Lobi visit Grym in Earth Spacedock or QonoS to pick yours up.
You can visit once each day on Friday October 24, Saturday October 25, and Sunday October 26 between 12:00AM and 11:59PM PDT.
In addition, we will be running our bonus Dilithium Ore event for four days this weekend. Have a great weekend and enjoy Delta Rising, Captains.

Saw this on Facebook.
You know, I haven't played DR (and I have no intention of so doing), but I do watch the forums here, and I have to wonder just how delusional these people are.
Can he SERIOUSLY take even ONE look at these forums and call this "the most successful update ever..."?
I mean, it's one thing to try to spin a disaster. It's quite another to bury your head in the... well, something pungent that isn't sand... and declare it to be a success.
Really, Cryptic. Somehow you still manage to amaze me.

if people are saying they absolutley hate your new expansion and yet cryptic says its supposed to be the greatest ever?
i wonder do they even pay attention to us players?
wow just wow how can you be so ignorant and incompatent not to see that DR stinks and is hurting the game.
wow

not everyone hates the new expansion.
Let us explore it... together. Each man hides a secret pain. It must be exposed and reckoned with. It must be dragged from the darkness and forced into the light. Share your pain. Share your pain with me... and gain strength from the sharing.
There just simply isn't enough of new content to level/keep players interest which lead to most of the issues that you have seen on the forums as of late.

I borked the scale im sorry
Thus my sarcasm was lost upon thee
There's your problem right there... You're basing your opinions on the hysterical rantings of a very steadfast bunch of Cryptic Haters and their generally sycophantic hangers-on...
Play the content for yourself, then pass judgement as you may well find these people are in a, rather small, minority of hundreds of thousands of players who have quite alot of positive things to say about the new content...
Plus a good many players don't even visit the forums. They just play and enjoy the game. I bet a good many won't even know what happen earlier this week.
Even during my WoW days, I rarely visited the forums. I only went to the main game site to look at the news/updates. Only reason I joined the forums here is to talk to fellow Trekies.

sorry my sarcasm detector is bugged

at first i was upset i guess so many changes so fast was a bit much and i was overwhelmed
however over time it kinda grows on you and as they slowly clean it up its getting better and though im on a break i do log in to check out stuff and put my rep queue going etc.
but its not bad and getting better
Is cool man i tend to be sneeky at times with my sarcasm
And if you still LIKE the game and have fun - then you're mentally deficient... at least, according to some of the hater-threads floating around.
There -are- some problems, no doubt, but so far I've been having a good time.

Yeah, definitely room for further polish, but the content itself has been the best so far...
Hell, even the episodic patrols are structured in order so that they carry over their own mini-story arcs from one to the next... This was one of the highlights so far for me, right alongside the Kobali ground arc...
Cryptic do unfairly cop flack for alot of this, as a vast number of people who use these forums are truly (or knowingly) ignorant to the way the real world works (as opposed to how these people think the world works), as Cryptic would undoubtedly have deadlines for launch of content, and unless it's something absolutely game-breaking, those deadlines will be met and things fixed later...
I don't condone it, and it's industry standard practice today, so there's little point raging over it - please spare me the atypical 'we shouldn't stand for it' TRIBBLE as it simply won't happen...
and in the next season: "a new enemy is rising!" "punish them all and beam them into this shiney new gas chambers" "get 1 skill point for every gased enemy" hell yeah!!
Did you even pay attention to the dialogue?
He pretty much calls everything "The best/succesful ... yet/ever" ... that's basically the one sentence I ever heard from him, and I'm pretty sure he even says it, while sitting on the toilet, going to the dentist, having a hearth attack etc :P ... "that's the best terminal illness, yet ..."
yes. ^^^^^^
Ok... I clearly took away a very different impression of the mood of the Kobali ground zone mission chain...
Loadouts will no longer save between maps for many players, which will slow their dilithium earning progress.
'Difficulty' has been artificially created by exponentially increasing npc hitpoints, and granting them mitigation tactics EptE and A2Damp to prevent them from lining up as easily to be handles by players, prolonging pve matchmaking, and slowing character progression.
A new tier of ships has been introduced, suggesting to players in tandem with the previous point on difficulty that they need to invest money in STO to compete.
Crafting introduced an enourmous resource sink, which will prevent players from fully developing more then a single character whithout the deepest financial commitment.

- Absolutely, from their point of view this is the most successful release ever.

Of course they are deary, or you know they might leave withotu bothering with the forums.
Having in mind ingame activity and the fact Cryptic is throwin lobi crystals and bonus dil weekend at the remaining players I'll venture to say that my explantion is more likely.
I am sure it's not an attempt to soothe angry customers.
Pfft, hater who claims Cryptic was lazy, obviously you should be happy it is THE ONLY ST MMO on the market and pay for the privilege to play it, not nitpick.
Prime Directive in STO cracks me up, having in mind how combat oritented everything is.
Let me count that ratio.

Sorry, but I won't bother trying to find the X.

Shaka, when the walls fell.
Sarcasm aside, did you really think that they would admit what kind of ****ty work they've done? Sub-standard "story", butt-ugly ships, pathetic time gates everywhere... Yeah, as if.
This is basic PR 101 stuff. Though it's quite sad that even they probably think it's working.
Thoroughly agree, really enjoying the story as I get it drip fed to me. Been having a blast on Kobali as well.
The steam figures imply it has not pulled in numbers anything like LoR. And considering how many regular players haven't bought, DR including myself, i find it difficult to believe it's outsold legacy. (Obviously I understand using steam isn't entirely accurate, but it's the best we have. )
