Is it possible to do this In Tau Dewa with the Patrols? The Romulan Patrol is a daily, give marks, but has a cooldown. However you can always enter a system and kill foes.
People may say, why rush? I have twenty characters, I am not going to line them through the same story. Also, I have played two mission and it looks to me the story mission are best played by a fed character.
So it is nice to have some alternate ways of xp gaining.
The same. I'd like to enjoy the new story content.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I am not cirtain but I think the Tau Sector patrols might be among the content with a level cap. In their case 50.
I havnt been back to them though so I may be mistaken about that.
The Best place the grind is going to be in part dependent upon the tools you have available to you.
There are some missions with large boss ships at the very beginning which you could use if your very single target focused, but you loose time to loading and leaving the map.
Because of the huge amounts of HP that higher level elite NPC's have the best way to grind is with AOE.
I chose the mission shutdown because there are two groups of enemies who always warp in at exactly the same spots when defeated. This means no time lost to traveling or to loading screens.
What's more because they warp in at exactly the same spot you can ensure the new wave is met by the warp core breaches of the last.
I used a science ship focused on gravity well and gravimetric torpedo spreads, with some single cannon and turret scatter volley thrown in.
I soloed the first 7 levels then some friends joined me. It goes much easier with two gravity well ships as you can keep the enemies trapped in the same space with no GW downtime.
I tested normal, advanced and elite difficulties on tribble before DR went live to find out which would give to best XP to time return and for me it was certainly elite difficulty. But if you cant put out enough DPS you may find that an easier difficulty gets you a better rate of return.
It should also be noted that on elite difficulty getting the attention of this many mobs is asking for pain. Your going to need some good gear and a good build to balance both the DPS and Tanking requirments.
Ooh, a show-off thread. Ok, I'll play. I got to level 60 in 2 hours 13 minutes. Sorry, OP. I mean, what took you so long?
Yes, I'm lying.
What's the point of wearing ones clicky finger to a bloody pulp if not to go to the forums and boast of how elite it makes you?
Honestly though I set myself a challenge, to see how quickly I could go from 50 to 60, and I am proud of how I did.
I know I am not the only one who set themselves this challenge though, and I am frankly surprised by how few other people have joined in to say they reached 60 and how long it took.

Probably because they are enjoying the content and know from experience that being at end level does mean as much as you think it does.
At 1:27pm PST I made level 60, by grinding NPCs on elite difficulty from the time the servers came up.
So that's 3 hours 27 minutes. As I used a science captain with torpedo damage consoles and single cannons, I am guessing some tac using exp boosts beat me.
So how quickly did the rest of you reach 60?
I didn't get to 60 yet because I would just hate to be THAT GUY who bum rushed to end game and ends up crying that he has nothing to do.
One quater impulse everywhere. I enjoy the view as I leisurely float through Borg Space.

I could have hit 60 tonight if it weren't for two issues:
1: Weird crashes and lag spikes that kept me grounded despite playing earlier in the day with no issues. As it is I have uninstalled and am about 75% through the 10GB install
2: I didn't want to blast through content so I could say "I made 60 already!". I want to enjoy the game my first time through on my Eng. My Tac Officer will probably blast through it tho.

I have a very bad memory of the story missions and the wiki is being less than helpful. Any examples you care to share?
No rush guys, no prize for being first. Enjoy the new content, get immersed, and enjoy the new storylines
Considering the lags and the level-gaps (the point where you have to grind for half a level before being able to start the next mission in the story arc) I experienced yesterday, I'd rather grind to 60 and enjoy playing through the whole arc in one sitting afterwards. Much more immersive for me that way.
It's like waiting for the whole season of GoT to finish and then watching them all at once over the course of a weekend, rather than having just one episode each week.

And also every now and then one of those episodes fails to buffer halfway through. :P
Yeah I'm happily doing the story content after hitting 60 with no interruptions aside from the Calvary bug that "somehow" made it onto Holodeck.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
Guess it'll take me a while did the first 2-3 mission and now I'm forced to play generic content again ... not really better than the Old Exploration Cluster Stuff ... pretty disappointed there is not even enough Story Content to get to Lvl 60, so I guess I'll stick with Doffing ...
Patch Notes : Resolved an Issue, where people would accidently experience Fun.
Not there yet but If I were to guess I'd say it will take me 1 year, 11 months, 23 days and 13 hours give or take a month or so. But I was at 50 for about a year and a half...
So what prize do I get for being the fastest. . . Lol
You earn the most dil fastest. This is not sarcasm or a joke. The way captain specialization works is each time you fill the level bar post 60 you get another spec point. When you have earned enough to buy everything (don't need to spend them, just earn them), you instead get a box of dilithium.
Also, it means you can do the story without having to pause and grind levels for a bit.

I hit lvl 60 on Saturday, by doing DR stories + DR patrols on elite, combined with Borg Disconnected and later on, Bug Hunt.

It's buried under the thousands of threads complaining about how Advance Queues can't be beaten by facerolls.
No point racing to 60, as most of the hardcore STO players will be there by the weekend.

I was planning to do the same... But after only an hour, I was already level 52... And all I did was play story-content.
No boosters, no special grind missions. Just the new missions... And still..
Well there is the veteran Boost, but I can't really change that.

What are the winning lotto numbers next week?
Took me a little over a day after release of DR.
