Is it just me but where all those that were grinding for this vessel? Doesn't seem to many of us flying Risan Luxury Cruiser. Very good ship if you have the right gear set on it! Those of you who fly one speak-up! Would be nice also to have a few teams do some PVE Space Missions.
No offense, but the Risan Luxury Cruiser is an affront to this game. Like the ridiculous Space Battleship Yamato, space is not an ocean! And creating a ship that looks to be water-faring, is just an insult to any space game and/or movie.

Tbh if cryptic released a ship that looked as cool as space battleship yamato id toss my wallet my credit card and my cookie jar/money hidey hole at my screen to make cryptic take it .
Oh man you go to hell for that. Yamato is a classic of the genre, and in the story there's a very good reason the ship looks the way it does. Insulting it is as ignorant as insulting Star Wars, Indiana Jones, or Alien --some classics are legendary and above reproach and Space Battleship Yamato is one of them.
As to the Risan ships, they are water capable craft built by a world that is largely ocean, making them hybrid ships. They don't just look like oceangoing vessels, they are ocean-capable.
Calm down everyone has the right to their own opinion no matter how misguided it is cause i got a good idea if they made a ship that looked as cool as space ship yamato meimtoo would toss his wallet at the screen screaming for cryptic to take his money.
I use it on my KDF Alien Engineer. She is named "Red", her ship is of course bright red, armed with Anti-Proton, and Gravimetric Photon Torps. Everything about it is Red as a theme. I occasionally switch her over to a Risian Corvette, but paint schemes are limited on anything else, and she needs Red ships to fly!
Yeah. Trek IS a franchise with space SHIPS that have an aft, starboard, port, and stern. They fire cannons and torpedoes. The captain is in command. They fight pirates. The Enterprise is named as a nautical vessel and the rear of most Enterprises is designed to look like a boat. Some ships such as the ancient Bajoran vessels use sails to travel at faster than light velocities.
Star Trek is a western, a military sea adventure, and centers of expeditionary research universities and settlements.
Heck, in addition to boats, I'd sure like to see STO try a spacecraft based on trains. Maybe if we move beyond the Breen winter event thing, something rail inspired in the winter would be cool. Flying trains have a rich pedigree in steampunk, anime, Back to the Future, and Doctor Who.
Obviously in Trek, it wouldn't be a PURE train but maybe something with animated nacelles down on the lower portion, a big deflector and grill in front, and a plasma stack on top, chugging out warp plasma. Capable of hauling different cars attached as a secondary hull.
I can imagine upgraded speed and ramming speed, lower turnrate. Dual heavy turrets. High passive damage in the rear arc like a real military train.
Heck, maybe make the cars mounted to it into a form of launchable craft like the Aquarius or a carrier pet.
And just as summer is about cruises for many people, trains tend to get marketed heavier in the colder months.

Oh your referring too the old Cartoon Series called Star Blazers that was about an old Battleship called Yamato. That was in the waste lands of Earth. Alien tech made the ship into a Battle Star Ship to save the human race! This series was fun back then with the wave motion gun, I see what you saying now!
Even if that's the case with the Risan Luxury Cruiser still a neat ship to sail the open sectors with. You can look at it two ways. One as Ship or as Battle Star Ship. I really like the design and it's fun use. Like a mix of Destroyer Class Ship and F-16 Fighter (Rear View Forward) I know everyone not going to be happy with it but still those of us that are let's enjoy it!
I've been working on my 3 sets for my FED, ROM and KDF to where it can be tough Battleship.
I was hoping they came out with larger version for 2015 called Risan Mega Cruiser!

My KDF is the color red and the little vet is red also. Yes AP is the way to go on these ships, G-Metric Torpedos also. KDF doomday torpedo works on this ship but still to make a more bigger KABOOM! got to work with the numbers. I have the Smoke Stacks raised on my ships along with the radar dish. All that's missing is the Flag!
I take my Vacuum-Liner out for a cruise every now and then - noticed a few others attempting to imitate it the next day or so after I went around on a rampage in the Undine Battlezone with it recently.
It's a fun and quirky little ship, but I'm probably going to be mothballing it for an Eclipse or going back to my Sgolth once Delta Rising lands. Been focusing primarily on my Bastion, Bortasqu and Ar'kif-flying characters as of late though.

Too bad still fun to use. Hardly use my KDF ships again. I going to see how well it does in Delta Rising.

No, the Yamato is an insult to the game, was my point. :P And I don't care what convoluted rationale they came up with to make it look like a sea-faring ship! Unless The Caretaker transported them from mid-sea to the badlands, or something, the concept of a space ship that looks like a ship meant to sail the oceans, is idiotic. Really.
Honestly, in space, no one can hear you swim!

I'll give you a point for this one, though. Whilst still looking odd, I always think of the Risan ship as a luxury liner like Phloston Paradise (The 5th Element). I could see that. But the Yamato?! Hahaha!

All jokes aside, I had started this thread for players who are using Risan Luxury Cruiser. To share their experiences, set-up, and sometime get together and fly our star ships in the new Delta Rising Rep System or PVE, things like that.
Instead you got us. WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!! MAWHAHAHAH!!!
Well outside of STO I run my own forums based on Networking, OTA (Over-the-air), 2x Android and Windows Software/hardware. So I know the drill when it comes to forums do's and don't. But in all everyone has opinion here on STO forums to share with all us.
Back on Risa in the Summer Event 2014, there were so many going after Risan Luxury Cruiser what happen? By reading the post beside the jokes many have opt in and out of them.
Like Admiral James T. Kirk said "Come, come, Mr. Scott. Young minds, fresh ideas. Be tolerant. So think of STO dev/designer this way!
I've watch Starblazers nice cartoon. Now they made it into live action series. I did watch that on YT it's okay. Cartoon was way better. But Risan Luxury Cruiser fun to use and quick on it's maneuvers too. Nimble Star Ship. There use to be some Pirate Star Ships in the past too. So whatever you fly in space it's still fun and enjoyable.

It should be great in fluidic space
Well, that would work.
Or a yellow submarine. :P
I suppose that if you paint the cruiser yellow, it will look like a submarine in fluidic space
