Is it just me but where all those that were grinding for this vessel? Doesn't seem to many of us flying Risan Luxury Cruiser. Very good ship if you have the right gear set on it! Those of you who fly one speak-up! Would be nice also to have a few teams do some PVE Space Missions.
Thinking we will a lot more of the Breen and Risian cruisers flying around from the 14th October. Many will probably be leveling those before deciding to spend money on their own store ships.

Yup, i think this is very true.
Ten console ships, with a free upgrade to T5U, will be very popular indeed.
The Risian cruiser and escort, as well as the Breen Chell Grett are going to get a lot of use.
My Romulan flies this. I enjoy it very much. Perhaps out of guilt for not upgrading my t'varo I have the cruiser as all plasma kit with Reman set.
One way I judge my ships is taking on those 5 or 6 tholians that appear midway through Crystalline to the right by myself. Sadly this is the only one of my ships that can be killed by them. I think by adding polarize hull in place of science team I can survive them.
I also particularly enjoy doing the "Hang 10 dude" Which is to launch the soliton wave on a large group of enemies, combine with plasma torp spread, vent plasma, and tholian rep tetryon.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
I have one on my Fed engineer, since he is setup as a civilian who does not fly any Starfleet vessels. Its a pretty good ship but too powerful IMO, it breaks fiction/immersion to fly around in a cruise liner that is on par with the Excelsior and the Tor'Kaht for overall damage potential. Unfortunately it is one of the only ships I have that is getting a free upgrade in DR, so I may end up using it to run through the episode chain.
I'm occasionally setting sails with my mine and it's fun, usually it's set up as a beamboat for BFAW spam and it does a good jop with it. IF loadouts would work proplery ( yeah I know, it will never happen ) I'd probably sailing some more buuuut I usually stick to my carriers, warbirds and sci ships.
the risian ship is just a different shaped excelsior type of beam boat with the added attraction of the double qsd time and that aoe effect that jams up ships, the soliton wave.
three of my toons use the risian cruiser.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

Certainly how I'm doing it, see what DR really is before dropping a dime. My first ships in the Delta Quadrant will be a Risian Cruiser and a Breen Raider.
I fly the Risian cruiser on one of my alts - a Ferengi "trader". It fit his persona perfectly. That said, I don't do much on that alt. Every now and again I'll run something with friends, but that character is mostly a bank character.
It's a decent ship. I love the 2 piece set as well.
My main, a Fed Sci, owns the retired cruise ship Charles Darwin (his ships are all named for Earth scientists). Generally, however, he can be found in command of the Odyssey prototype USS Hans Asperger.
My Ferengi Eng, Grunt, flies RXS Latinum Princess by preference, because its capabilities suit him; for the purposes of the Literary Challenge entries in Ten Forward, he and his crew now work for Starfleet Intelligence, and the Princess is a Q-ship (no relation), covertly converted to warship status while looking like a civilian craft. (SI faked the crews' discharges and/or resignations, to cover why the entire command staff of the Nebula-refit USS Ferenginar were now cruise-ship employees of Grunt Mercantile.)
My current favorite is a tac in a Risian Corvette torpedo boat.
The little I've toyed around with the Cruiser left a favorable impression but I didn't get around to getting an engineer up high enough for it before the costs and grinds of DR became apparent and killed my will to alt.
The only T5U ships I'll be flying will be Risian ships. Or Breen if I finally get around to the grind this year.
This is my Risian Corvette. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
I have seen the Risan Cruisers and/or Corvettes a few times a week. Even in eSTFs.
Personally, I still have yet to claim either ship on any of my toons. I suppose I will do so once DR has been released since they will be upgraded to T6. My Fed and KDF engineers will likely select the Cruiser. If I really wanted I suppose my KDF tactical will select the Corvette.
Unfortunately, my Romulan science toon will pass since neither ship are suitable for a science toon.

If the project to claim one wasnt already started, you will have to wait until next summer event to queue it up

I have slotted the projects for all 4 toons (of 5) which participated in that event. It is only a matter of allocating the Lohlunats necessary to claim the ships.
I wish more people slotted the ships during the event. I have a pile of the pearls left over in the bank. zi wish there was a market for them off season.
OP, I have both Risian ship types for all my toons. One toon is still flying the Corvette. The reason why I don't fly the Luxury Cruiser at the moment is I frequently change ships and builds all the time. I'll fly a ship & build for a bit then swap to something different that I have. You'll be lucky to see me with the same ship & build for 2 months, and I'm not talking minor rearrangements.
I prefer variety of experience, so one ship, no matter how good it is, never is active so long for me. If I do, I feel like I'm stagnating.
My eight are still in a box. I find it too ugly to use.
"Why did you get it then?"
Because I could...
Because it's fun flying a Risian Luxury Cruiser and flaunting the terrible ingame truth that a Luxury Liner is a better warship than the Galaxy-class and Galaxy-X. And to do so in the BRIGHTESTCOLORSKNOWNTOMAN!

Hey, I don't doubt it's a good and fun ship, I just don't like the looks. But I like options, so I got it anyway. It only took an unlock in one character. The others got it for 40 pearls. It wasn't a chore.
For the Summer Event all eight of my characters picked up both ships - three gathered 1,040 Pearls and 5 120. I am now poised to get next year's Summer Festival ship on all eight characters on Day 1 (unless they switch things up again). But I digress, my Romulan main started flying the Corvette during the Event with this build:
I have been using those since the Summer Event. Recently I have been running around a bit more leisurely with that character in a Cell Ship trying to run and complete the other 12 Clusters that I had not done on that character.
The ship is fun to run and travels very well in Sector space.

Wow! Thanks so much for the responses. I had to search for this post. I am glad most of you are still flying the Risan Luxury Cruiser as I am daily. The Risan Corvette small but effective quick escort type still fun to use. But my primary ships is Risan Luxury Cruiser as FED SCI, ROM/FED TAC and KDF TAC.
If you spot me anywhere in the game do send out a friend request as just maybe we all can do a PVE or even one of the NEW DR PVE some day.
Risan Luxury Cruiser
U.S.S. Coolheadal (former West Palm Beach)
R.R.W. RAM (former Key West)
I.K.S. KYROS (former The Flying Dutchman)
I'll be flying these
As for the;
Risan Corvette
U.S.S. Liberty
R.R.W. ROM (former Key Lime)
I.K.S. Octavius
My Ferengi painted his yellow and "gold" and named it the "Latinum Lady".
Sure, he'd rather fly a D'Kora but if he can't have that a luxury spaceliner isn't a bad choice.

It's kind of a silly looking ship. I pull it out when I'm feeling silly. For me to play it regularly, I'd probably want dedicated BOffs who look like they belong on a cruise ship and pre-trained with useful powers. But it doesn't make me feel all that heroic. And having more than one regular ship costs too much.
Maybe it adds too that that I deco'd mine to look as much like the Titanic as possible. I was on a Doctor Who kick when I did that.
I will definitely pull it out once to do a loop de loop when I max piloting.
I need to go back and kit out my two Risian Luxury Cruisers. My Fed Tac is just outfitted with basic Retrofit Phasers that I ganked out of a bunch of TOS Connies and random torpedos. I'm hoping I can rush through and fully kit out my KDF Sci Gorn's with the Solenae/Obelisk gear.

Oddly, I do see a few of these ships around.
Perhaps not ubiquitous, but its rare a day goes by where I'm not either parked next to one or teamed with one.
Still waiting to be able to use forum titles

I had a bit of trouble controlling it (I am not that great of a pilot) so I switched to the Cruiser which was easier to control and use this build:
