Tribble Maintenance and Release Notes - October 9, 2014
^^^
So, Tribble's getting patched tomorrow? (The current date in the U.S. PST timezone is Wednesday, 10/8/2014.):D:eek::P
Formerly known as Armsman from June 2008 to June 20, 2012
PWE ARC Drone says: "Your STO forum community as you have known it is ended...Display names are irrelevant...Any further sense of community is irrelevant...Resistance is futile...You will be assimilated..."
We had at least one more patch before season 9 went live that removed most of the stuff that was still "work in progress." I think since not all of the VO is in the game yet, that will be part of the last patch that will become the version being shipped off to holodeck tuesday.

Is this a hint at another upcoming limited time event like the one in March, or does this mean that it is being added as a normalized queue?
They say time is the fire in which we burn. Right now, Captain, my time is running out. We leave so many things unfinished in our lives... I know you understand.
Same here. I was at least expecting the rest of the missions so we could shake them down, unless there aren't any more missions in which case it seems to literally stop in a wierd place.
And maybe they're not listing all the bug fixes they found, only the major ones and the minor ones are just being fixed, but there still are a ton of bugs I haven't seen fixes for, that I personally found, and that's just me.

nah, 'dragon's deceit' is a perfect place to stop, since it's ending on a cliffhanger
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.
I gain power by understanding both.
In the chaos of their battle, I bring order.
I am a shadow, darkness born from light.
The Force is united within me.

Lol, the bug list is very very long, and the fact that they've kept Tribble locked down this long doesn't help. Prepare for another LoR type launch.
Season 10.5 or 11 (Because I know they already have 10 ironed out) should finally be a bug squashing season. You guys put bugs into the game faster than you can squash them, and they've piled up sky high.

Yeah I know. But a girl could hope that maybe... maybe... for once I'd be able to go and play an update or season and not have to worry about what's broke and how often the server was going to be brought down for patches and fixes.
You know I think the devs could turn this into something fun though. Create a system where we can put in a guess, and only one guess, how many crashes and server drops there are in the week or two following DR's launch, and however gets closest gets 500 zen.

that something like this happens with enough regularity that you could make a game around it is pretty sad, when you think about it

I bet they'll have emergency patches Wednesday-Friday next week. Add to that the forum complaints about not being able to log in.
The Kobali adventure zone will the the center of a LOT of bug reports, just like New Romulus was.
At least the Voth battle zone, it was more a matter of leechers standing there and getting dil than bugs, but, to this day, one of the accolades requires trickery and multiple passes to get.
My advice is, you should; it'll go easier that way
Whether you like it or not, a broken fleet consultant doff is not a priority fix, on most any level. Saying that the lack of a fix is insulting isn't true, nor does it achieve anything that will speed up the fix
Maybe they should delay launch another week and make sure it right instead of push a bug filled expansion
If they had the ability to push back release dates this late, it would have already happened several times in the past - apparently for PWE, due dates are unmoveable, regardless of any issues
Was named Trek17.
Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
And still nothing about the obscene increase of shield and hull HP for NPC ships? You think people are going to keep quiet on the forums when this hits?

Well, I think we should just be grateful it's under investigation - plus if it's taking longer/is more complicated than expected, what can we do about it? They'll continue to work of course, but they cannae change laws of code work

so not gonna happen and for those of you saying a patch is heading to tribble on tue?? no that launch day you better hope they are working the weekend and the last one come on mon cause tues its go time not wait and see time ....its going ready or not by the way the 13th is columbus day ...why do we still celebrate that ?? the guy was a douche
So no buffs to any kdf T5 ships like all those last week to the various fed ships? Figured maybe now that the ship sale is over it might happen to at least one ship like the Varanus since it was a clone of the D'Kyr...

at this late stage it's pretty much locked in. so people have 2 choices.
1. Adapt
2. cry on the forums.
Good players will get better, the bads will be spending more time typing than playing.

My issue is basically is that people don't have to get better to do this. The mobs aren't any more challenging, they just take longer. Still don't require any skill to beat them, just time.
I'd rather have a challenge where I had to get better then something where it was still point and shoot and go afk for 5 minutes and then come back when it's all done.

I definitely agree! The players that have difficulties with the current elite level really need to try a little harder. There are so many cookie cutter builds out there they can pick from and it's not like STO is a hard game to learn the mechanics of. I didn't find any issues killing NPC's on Tribble with a T5 non-upgraded Ambassador beam boat, including Cooper's BioShip before being nerfed.

I have no issue adapting to kill them faster. I have no issue with an increase in health of enemies. That is expected for a level cap increase. I didn't expect an increase of 3 to 4 times what it currently is. And only for 10 levels? I would expect that kind of an increase if we were working toward level 90.

Thing is, though, our potential damage output is so far beyond 50 already...that an actual increase of 10 levels wouldn't cut it.
I saw that in the "Known Issues" section, the note about the Deadly Intent module not working correctly with some weapons was not present... Does this mean that the bug is fixed and the fix was just omitted from the notes, or have they given up trying to fix it and are going silent and hoping that we all forget that they knew about the problem?

I certainly hope it is not the latter.
I hope it's the first, but my EC is on the second.

same here, id guess that everything else is going direct to holodeck next week
Don't worry about it. Take the weekend off and take a fresh stab at it next week
