A pve for 5 people, after about 5 deaths each just to kill the guardians, the 2 weapons protecting the queen ammounted to about 25+deaths each person without a single successfull destruction of either of the 2 weapons.... To put it simply they have incorporated too many repair and tractor spheres along with too many probes protecting the weapons, not to mention the over abundant damage the 2 weapons inflict just themselves..... I got hit by a single plasma torpedo for easy 89,000dmg one hit kills from almost every weapon they defend themselves with. So devs you all must have really been hitting the crack pipe when you designed that mission for only 5!
Totally agree. The main issue is the lack of reasonable cds for the npcs, they simple spam skills ultra fast and you cant keep the pace.
Inst hard its simply broken, fix it.
It's a major waste of time and is impossible, even with a expertly coordinated team. So far won 1 out of 173 tries. Everyone with tier 5 ships or even fleet ships. Using anti Borg rep gear and specialised fleet gear. I say either fix this TRIBBLE or remove it. There is no excuse for that mission to exist or be that hard
beat Hive onslaught elite last night and if you and everyone else knows what to do it goes along quite well you just have to be on your toes a bit always waiting for the giant torps or the queens debuff following up with a torp spread.the unimatrixes and queen are hard for sure and you WILL die at least once teamwork can take care of them. and we did it with 3 crusiers and 2 vestas nuthun real DPS oriented but we wore em down and that is what counts.
I doubt this is even true. My tricorder detects a troll. Here is probably how it really went: 25 deaths pp to take down guardians, another 45 deaths pp to take out unimatrixes. Another 25 deaths pp to take out queen. Replace casual setup with: most Specialised equipment for taking out Borg. And time feed to about 1-2 hours.
The funny thing is if you have two cruisers parked next to the queen in part two of the STF rotating FAW it doesn't matter how much pet and torp spam the command ships throw out it wont affect the mission, not only that but they add damage to the command ships as well, you can't lose.
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.

I for one do like Hive Elite and it is one of my favorite ques.
I recently have had 2 back to back runs of Elite, 1 of the FED side & one on the KDF side. The FED side on I did on my Rom with his Sao Paulo and the KDF was with my Klink in his "free" Bortas.
In the Sao Paulo it was a good challenge in trying NOT to pop but I died maybe 3 times in total which was prolly the same amount of time my team mates died BUT we managed to finish HIVE Elite in 10 - 15mins or so? The KDF one was about the same. That being said we don't mind those type of missions as we enjoy the challenge and teamwork that comes out of it.
Both teams were preformed from the Star Trek Battles which also means were were bringing around 4 - 7k in DPS each. HIVE can be a pain but I truly believe it was our team work & communication that made the difference in beating it. We do que it regularly as we find it a fun one to spank the queen every now and then.
We have had maybe one or 2 times where we decided we couldn't cut it because the spawn of the regen probes and lances were too much but to say you need uber dps ships to do HIVE is NOT true... this is my opinion.
The new Elite will be even more of a challenge as the increased HP will take longer but I believe with the right team and focus fire, NOT BFAW, will help but that will be interesting to see how we do it in STB.
Its not broken so much as it is pretty much newb proof and nearly PUG proof.
I PUGed it three times this week and all runs ended successfully shockingly enough, Two PUGs were from the public elite channel and the third from the private one. The fastest run was under six minutes if memory serves. Hell I even posted about it in the chatroom.
That said I tried series of "teaching" runs last week and sadly all were very painful and costly time wise.....
The biggest tip for people is the pull from the far left top to bottom - spheres first with focused fire then once they get to the unimatrix, tab out of the stupid video and bum rush them before the probes launch and the death rays charge up. Queen wise, two players run at her from opposite sides - rotate as needed....

the rewards are definitely not worth the pain and the amount of regens you will need (i used over 10)
There is problem no. 1 -- many ppl try this one (and it's ground version) without regens / heals .
- the spheres do more damage than the cubes, anyone noticed?. That just ain't right.
At least you noticed .
In this one , target one Cube at a time (either the one on top , or if you have escorts , the one on the right) , and take out the sphere's first on each cube you engage .
- We tried pulling a cube at a time but they all aggro at the same time.
They don't aggro all the time , but they do if you use the following :
Pets , beam fire at will , cannons scatter volley , holo-fleet (sci) , nimbus pirate call , gravity well -- in short any ability that is not directly focused on a single enemy ... as all of the above will sooner or later target something you're not directly want to hit .
I use pets only when half or more of the cubes are dead for example .
- Uni ships are same as in invasion. no probs there. People just need to watch out for plasma bolts.
The Uni ships are the hardest part of this mission .
Their "beam overloads" are one shot kills , but their mega plasma torpedoes can be shotdown , and they can also be targeted by a tractor beam , as well as tractor beam repulse .
It also has a mean torp spread , so heal those who you see effected .
- The queen can be dealt with by kiting at 8-9 km.
The queen is the easy part . Her fedback pulse and that green killer zone that she unleashes once every 1-2 minutes can be deadly , but after those two , I tend to move in close and hammer her with everything I have , and then I pull out and wait for the next green killer wave thingy .
