Scheduled Maintenance (October 2, 2014)

Hi Captains,

We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, October 2nd, at 7AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for our weekly scheduled maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to last for 2.5 hours. The test server, launcher and access to manage your account may also be unavailable during some portions of the maintenance.

    Dilithium mining claims, preferred customer mining claim boxes, and VIP customer mining claim boxes from now on will be Bind to Account on Pickup, instead of Bind on Pickup.

    I bet they'll be Bound to Character when we get one :P

    Now when I went to preview the upgrade for my kinetic cutting beam, it lost its dmgX3 completely.. Did that get fixed or only the mods for when it actually gets upgraded?

    And Im happy I can now upgrade the sword and flamethrower ::D

    Are you putting basic tech upgrade tokens somewhere at the New Romulus command center like they are at ESD and Qo'Nos?

    Levelless version of the 22nd-century Klingon disruptor pistol stops improving at player level 50, and converts to a Mark 12 weapon for upgrading at that point.

    Wait, what? There is no levelless klingon disruptor pistol, only the leveled mission reward.

    I still have 80 mining claims on my main account... from last year when I had over 150.. Im not gonna throw rage out because thats how it was when I got them back then.. It would be very NICE of cryptic to make them account bind for me but I understand why they don't have to.

    I dont understand why they dont have to. Sure they could be greedy ferengi ******* but why stay eith that stereotype unless they like f***** over their customers. As if this whole T6 business isnt bad enough.

    So... now that more items can be upgraded, will slotting them fix the items previously broken? In other words, will my newly acquired Lirpa Mk XI go back to being the fancy one from Hearts and Minds, or not?

    Speaking of Hearts and Minds... will Dr. Sibak (clone) ever affect all psionic powers (i.e. Psionic Kit Modules) as his original description read, or was altering his text considered the intended "fix" to make him work correctly? I ask because he'd be a whole lot more useful if he helped someone other than Aliens, Letheans, Remans, and Vulcans... come to think of it, are Betazoid captains ever going to get access to Pacification, like our bridge officers?

    Oh, and why can't species capable of taking the Telekinesis Trait be capable of taking the Telekinetic Trait, or visa versa?

    Finally dili mine claims are account bind! That was the last thing in lock boxes that were always bound to toon. Glad this is happening.

    As for upgradeable items, nice list of fixes. Still waiting on dominion polarons and polarized tetryons to be upgradeable though.

    There was one a long time ago. All items from that mission were levelless, now they're all Mk XI.

    Overall, good patch, glad to see the kinks ironed out of the upgrade stuff. Should help ease the wrath and rage.

    I see no reason to rage about Dil mining claims. It's the only other means of fast feeding Dil to less-used alts if one isn't motivated enough to actively mine and grind Dil on them, nor want to try and go the Dil->Zen-> Login to Alt -> Zen-> Dil conversion route (esp. when the prices are wildly different).

    It's still not the answer to the STF Dil reward reductions NOR the removal of Reward items in the upcoming Developer's Revenge expansion though, since that still requires Lockboxes, Keys, and luck (you could get stuck with a bunch of Tac Kits that you will never use or can sell).

    And are rants like this really necessary? They sure has hell don't make Cryptic any more inclined to listen to what customers have to say...

    I can live with existing claims remaining Character Bound, although I'd obviously have preferred Cryptic make a pass over them also...

    I just hope that the items that were already broken, as a result of the upgrade system being pushed onto Holodeck before it was ready, will be fixed with the patch...

    So far I've come out ok, the only broken item was the Friday 13/Halloween Vulcan Lirpa losing it's [Stn][Psi] modifiers, but since Halloween is coming up, I can replace it soon enough if I must, knowing it should now upgrade properly...
    The entitlement is strong in these forums...

    Thank You very much. I was beginning to run out of room in my BANK again.

    Any chance there's a Tribble Terrarium addition to the game in the near/distant future???

    Some place to store and breed those cute little Klingon annoyers. :P

    I noticed that the Klingon disruptor got its upgrade, will http://sto.gamepedia.com/Federation_Type_3_Phaser_Rifle also receive one?
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Good that you continue to add some forgotten items to the upgrade possible list. But please check the stats of the items. If they are not consistent with the MK they get its a wasted effort; just like with the Omin Arc AP beam from sphere of influence which is now shown as MK XII but still has its MK X / leveless stats. Please either turn that stuff into MK X or give it the MK XII stats otherwise you invest work for nothing but a fistful of angry posts of those who had not realized it.

    They forgot to upgrade the Chromodynamic Armor.

    There are two problems: it is a MKII item and it is impossible to upgrade.

    Can someone in tribble forward to developers this information ?

    Has anyone been able to upgrade KDF assimilated space shield? It has the same stats at 13 as it does at 12. The Fed version upgrades correctly.
