Cryptic Disrespect - Server lag

knerdyknerdy Member Posts: 113 Arc User
As you all know the servers were having issues with latency for the past three days or so. Causing matches to time out, and other problems.

NOT A SINGLE WORD from Cryptic on this issue, not even acknowledgment of server issues , or even an apology as far as I can tell. No notice found in this forum, Arc games site, nor the Cryptic corporate site.

Unless someone can prove me wrong, this is complete disrespect to customers and shows they only really care about making $$$.

And until I can be shown wrong about this...Cryptic just lost yet ANOTHER paying customer.

I will NEVER be spending another time here

this is against the fct, you may want to read that next time.
    General Rage Threads
"I hate this so everyone else should hate this too"
"I hate this bug & I hate the devs for not fixing it NOW!"

Not liking something in-game is fine. Hating something in-game is fine. Starting a rage thread insulting staff members, products, or the companies who work very diligently to bring you STO is a violation of our TOS and will be acted on as such.
I Demand X Or Else Threads
"As a player with experience in X field, I demand X immediately. If I don't get it (insert threat here)."
"I have made an app/website so therefore everyone at PWE/Cryptic is lazy for not doing what I say."

It is understandable that players of any game will eventually get frustrated with decisions out of their control for the focus or intent of the games they love. Unfortunately, the habit of demanding resolutions and making threats can longer be tolerated as it creates a hostile forum environment that is neither welcoming to new users, or useful for fostering a sense of community.

    straight from the fct.

    Um...

1: PWE recently did Network Maintenance, which screwed up all their games. STO wasn't the only victim.
2: Cryptic isn't required to say anything. Have you considered that they might be WORKING on it?
3: Cryptic is a business. Of course they want money. So that argument is invalid.

MMOs have problems, and when they fix one, another comes up. It happens. Throwing a fit and declaring they just lost a customer on the forums is NOT going to fix things faster. It kinda just makes you come across as immature and out for a fight.

I can demonstrate that this is not necessarily a server problem... I have had no unusual lag or latency over the past few days...

Been seeing people complain about it, but it's been running as smooth as ever for me...

Actually it has been acknowledged by Trendy and Smirk. They are apparently experiencing an internal network issue. It's affecting all of the PWE line of games, not just STO. I gather that the reason it hasn't been fixed yet is that they're probably still trying to figure out what the issue is.

Sooo... I take it you are having a bad morning OP?

Really... if this pisses you off, you should stop playing STO and other online games, cause they will never be free of periods like this.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Maybe if they care about customers, I would care about their "fct"

Ugh, I really hate threads like this...I still think they're Cryptic shills creating such unbelievable complaint threads that all the legitimate complaint threads get drowned out. C'mon, Cryptic - let us bash you about all the TRIBBLE you actually do - without the threads from the padded rooms. It's underhanded of you to try to play us this way...

Same here. Haven't noticed any of the problems that have been reported by others.

Question, some of the comments you've made lead me to suspect you are also in Australia... If so, are you using the US Proxy?

The thought that this may be making the difference has occurred to me, given what people have been say...

Tinfoil hats, much? You mustn't think much of Cryptic if you think they'd go this far to silence your "legitimate" complaints.

I note that a lot of people with the status of career officer aren't experiencing issues, perhaps this is something to do with gold/LTS subscribers have priority logon?

That said I'm an LTS and in the UK and I've experienced lag and a few disconnects.

Hmmm, comments about tin foil hats probably seem appropriate here, howver... Priority login does not mean stability, only that we'll log on before a F2P account, when the servers are full...

It's because cryptic is cash grabbing by making the servers unstable to make us buy T6 because my T5 is obsolete

The number of emotionally needy, high-maintenance personalities on these forums never ceases to amaze me.

It makes me want to go Dad all over their sorry behinds. You know what? I think I will.

    • The fact that you decide you want or need something does not create an immediate obligation on the part of the Universe to remediate that want or need.

    • Respect must be earned. It cannot be demanded.

    • Sometimes the silence you perceive is the sound of people getting useful work done. Let them work. Answering your demands for status updates interrupts their resolving the problem about which you're complaining.

    • Don't project your personal issues onto the world around you--it will not end well.

    • The fact that you didn't see something happen doesn't mean it didn't happen. It means you weren't watching when it happened, or weren't where it happened. There is an objective reality beyond your immediate perceptions. Yours is simply one viewpoint among billions.

    • Don't escalate the trivial. If you do, expect not to be taken seriously.

    • Only your immediate family is required to care about your little problems. It's nice if other people do, but it's not a requirement. Get over it--and get over yourself.

To those of you who already know these things, I apologize for wasting your time. To those of you who didn't know these things--you're welcome.

    ...

This has nothing to do with the current issue. Logon priority only comes in when the STO Servers are at capacity and the login queues for the limited spaces are in effect... (We probably won't see this until Oct 14, when Delta Rises launches)

Pretty immature post from the OP imho.

For the record I'm in the UK and have not noticed any problems with connectivity in recent months, no lag, rubber banding or any problems at all.

    Same here,

I do get the very occasional blip, but thats probably ISP related or on the very rare occasions i take of my foil hat.
