I closed it down, the hate mail and the death threat i got kinda took the fun out it! I gave up entertaining, plus my video making software doesnt work on my new pc, so i cant make anymore review videos...Luna was going to have a more time in our tv show but i got a nasty virus after i downloaded ARC and my laptop died, so that killed my foundry reviews ...i havent trusted ARC since!
I like this thread because I miss it when people called ironic things ironic instead of 'weird' or 'apt' things, and this is textbook irony. If you REALLY want to be trolled, just say nice things about the game. Dedicate a whole post to it.
But that isn't your point, I get it. I know a lot of entertainers locally that have quit doing anything performance wise, at all, over the last year, too. I think that grass roots creativity is finally reacting to the way that society treats it.
But folks are right, there is no way that the mods will allow this thread to continue. They MIGHT just close it, but will most likely delete it. I hope you got to read this before then. Frankly, I'm not even sure I'll be able to post.
Creatives MUST create. Unused creativity turns to negative stuff. You don't have to share your works anymore, and I'm not your boss or parent, but KEEP MAKING STUFF.
I don't like this idea at all, I hope they close this thread down! I will always back you up when you have a project you wish to accomplish, but no one deserves to be put in the stocks!!
Let the Mods do their job, I trust them to keep things civil!

Seriously. This forum is like ten percent reasonable discussion (mainly in Ten Forward with Worffan and Iconians and people), seventy-five percent sheer trollish bile, and fifteen percent just plain bizarre.
I have heard of Catstar, and I vaguely remember some thread where there were a bunch of people beating up on him, once -- it involved Luna showing up and people accusing her of being a sockpuppet -- but I'm still not sure where this is coming from. On the contrary, it's my impression that the majority of the forums hate ARC with a passion that I'm still not certain I understand. (I mean, I'd rather not have STO restricted to one launcher -- that's generally a bad idea on principle -- but I don't really get the cause of the sheer volume of hate it receives.)
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Can we get a "Who the heck is Catstar" club instead? Seems to have a better chance of gaining members.
I already feel like I've been a member of that Club my whole life.

People seem to hate period. I just read a few more comments in the arc feedback thread, people still saying they dont want it mandatory and arc thugs jumping all over em for it. Im still in awe over the bacon joke, if he really did say that, it truly means this neighborhood has gone down hill way too far, "in the end times peoples hearts will wax cold!"
...lol, i guess this means jonsills will come in here to quote jack nicolson from that 1989 batman movie now... "decent people shouldnt live here, they would be happier someplace else....can i have your stuff?"
I hate catstar. Whenever you invite him into your ship, he sheds all over everything. And if he gets wet, he smells funny for the rest of the day.
:P
In the past, I have sassed and teased you, but even though I occasionally disagree with you, that doesn't mean I hate you. I don't. I kinda like you. If I see a post by you, I usually click in. And it's because I like you that I'm taking the time to write this post, in which I hope to offer constructive criticism.
Knowing that you tend to trade on humor, I think you could benefit from making some changes. I think the cat business is a bit monotonous. I know I've said this before, but mix it up some, use it as a launching platform for other things, or else people will start to feel like you're shallow, trite, or even plain annoying. It's like when you hear a joke for the first time, and it's funny, but the second time it's not as good and by the third time it's just blah.
Also allow me to point out that in trading in cat humor of this type, you automatically associate yourself with the concept of furries. I thought you were a furry until you specifically said you weren't. I can't comment on the actual rightness or wrongness of furry culture, but you've associated yourself with it and need to remember that it has some baggage attached to it.
I'll take issue with your assumption that "a majority" of people "hate" you, as I generally do when people make statements about majorities on this forum. Come back with the p-value from your statistics test, where n=100+, and then we'll talk majority.
Also consider that this forum can be a mudpit of negativity, so negativity you experience may not be because of anything special you do, but because of where you do it. Also consider the people who dislike you as a self-selected group of people who have a strong opinion about you, and are not necessarily representative of the forum as a whole.
As odd as it may be to have someone tell this to you, lighten up. And as trite as this may seem, don't let it "get to you," like it seems to be doing, but rather keep it in mind and let it inform how you do things. Not control, mind, but inform.
Making this thread strikes me, believe it or not, a way of trying to shield yourself from criticism. It relegates people who criticize you to the role of bullies and trolls. You need to actually think about what people are saying and, if they have a real point*, to be mindful of their opinions are possibly make changes based on those insights.
And finally, keep in mind that this post is just my opinion. You have to make the same value judgements about this as the more acrid posts that upset you so.
Someone who is hated by so many people that they had to post in their thread about people hating to push it back up on the forum list becaue no one had posted in it for about 2 weeks.
Typically I don't call that "hate", I call that "indifference".
First, this doesn't belong in General. IF it belonged anywhere, it would be in Ten Forward.
I think the intent was to be humorous? A counterpart to the silly DOOOOM thread we keep around?
But encouraging people to post things that are against forum rules, even if you've invited them to sling flames at you...?
I can't let it live. Sorry.

There many areas viruses can easily pop up from.
I recommend ensuring you have 24/7 security software on your computer and run frequent scans.
