Um... how does that oversimplify it? How else do we generally get our ECs besides selling things on the Exchange? Vendor Trash.
Saying that i just want one thing namely making old prices from vendor work again oversimplifies what i had in mind. I don't really care the method they use can as well be another. That is what i meant.
Using under-geared stuff cuz u don't have time to farm and going public games is a sure way to have fun when u meet others like u ( i remember one of my last ISE when i meet 4 guys that had together 3k dps

If you're short on ECs, spring for Tetryon weapons. They're good for an economy build since everyone views them to be inferior. They still work, and you can get a full set for pretty cheep. Once you build up the ECs, then you can pick out a different damage type.

it feels like you're talking in circles. in one post you're complaining about being under geared because of ecs and then in the next you're talking about how you can go 10k dps in a t2 ship.
if you're doing good dps with existing gear then you're not under geared. the stfs are designed to function on dps. if you can do 3k dps you can complete an estf ang get the optional. you don't need mk 12 purple everything to do the game's endgame.
We're getting a new difficulty level. Elite will be set for lv 60, while the current elite will be dropped back to Advanced.
Well that's is one of the things i like about were the game its going (i still hope they make it so not only dps will matter). To return to the topic having less EC will make ships harder to gear, build harder to improve thus making even harder for some to do decent in lvl 60 misions. Dont wanna imagine what current 0-2k ISE guys ( that i meet in PUGS ) will do there ).

I don't have time to enter this discussion but to oversimplify it there are those who will manage and those who need better gear to be better. That was my point when i said that nerfing EC will make those that depend on gear to do good suck even more. And belive me i seen lots of those.

but you get the best gear simply by playing. omega rep, romulan, dyson, and so on. those reps give you the best gear. and the fleet gear you get simply by earning fcs, and you don't need ecs to get fcs. so you can get the best gear in the game from the various sources simply by playing the game.

Yes u do, assuming that u are in a fleet also and that in that fleet people dont insta fill all projects but dilithium . But all this was only an example of why EC nerf was not good. LIke i said seen lots of people that just cant do dil/zen farming for EC. Wanting to redirection game economy to go trough dil/zen exchange choke point without increasing reefing cap to compensate dosent seem in the f2p mindset to me. But again maybe i am mistaken...

LIke i said seen lots of people that just cant do dil/zen farming for EC.
you have a bunch of friends who can't earn dilithium, sell it for zen, buy a key, and then sell that key for 2 million ec? and don't even get me started on contraband.

Anyway i did said "lots of people" not friends but i assume u ignored that for the sake of the joke.
I have toons i many fleets and on the fleet chat or zone chant there are allways people asking for EC making ways. I don't think they are not smart but with this game its just complicated to remain focused ( seeing all those people wining lock boxes ships may have that effect ).
And yes CB its great for making EC but first one needs some KDF toons ... but with all the righteous feds who will dare play as a dirty kling ?
The time consuming farm/grind can be nerve wracking to some especially with doff assignments no longer completing while offline. Waiting and going with out is also no easy task at first while you scrimp and save for an item that may not even be their when you can afford it. The content was designed to be do able with out spending real money. Using level 40 free ships are still viable assets for end-game content, I am not saying it is easy to pug the qued events with common gear but if I can do it any one can. I intend to see if the new content will maintain this possability.

ive got 5400 zen that ive not payed for so year its F2P i think sto has one of the best F2P models out there time spent in the game = getting any thing u wont.

its not a bug it was ment to fix a KDF DOFF mission issue that was stopping some KDF players from DOFFING
OMG...there are P2P games that take more then a year before you can get geared to do endgame content
Just because something else is worse doesn't excuse anything.
Technically STO is still a free-to-play if you have a lot of time to spend or simply don't care about the harder end-game content (DR is adding a new difficulty too).

1. I have enough EC not to complain ( if there is such thing) made some a while back and still have some.
2. I am not a Cryptic hater, doom guy or anything like that. For instance i know many that hate some late changes but i actuality like the way this game is going regarding some game-play aspects. I want to see more of that.
BUT i see to many people complaining about how hard is to make EC now, how u need EC to make EC and so on. The idea is that many people are casual games not professional grinders/farmers.Now that junk farming its not working anymore they seem to have problems making EC. I might add that with the new changes regarding consoles now its useless to hope u will get some good console from making 1st in some runs, u get utter junk.
Also what its not working anymore (without taking a huge risk) its buying things low after market saturation ( lock box) waiting and selling later. With all this late changes regarding lvls or stuff and so on only sure thing are lock boxes ships, some uni consoles (and possible traits). But again those things are not cheep for poor players and having your little EC locked out for moths ...
It would be nice if some things would be implemented to help poor players get a decent start. Imo at least.
P.S. - I know there still ways to make EC but i am talking about some people that for various reasons cant do those due to lack if skill, EC, time etc.

It is still F2P as you can still get everything if you devote your time to it. Even if it takes more time, it is still F2P. But at the same time it is becoming more P2W.
They want you to spend more of your money, rather than spending time grinding it for free.
-Major EC nerf --> more time needed, why waste time when you can just pay to get what you want?
-R&D finish now --> want to win instantly? just pay some dil. no dil? just buy zen and convert
not so much P2W just P2W sooner.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
whats worse is that a few KDF players still could not DOFF after they added it might be fixed now seen as they has been a few more patches n no more posts about it.
