WOOOOO I'm In the pick! Hi MOM!! and in the top of the damage and healing bracket!! woot woot!
Nice build Ric, I prefer the pali for the extra drain console but the Vesta would be a close second.
out of curiosity, does that diplomat really drain weapon power like advertised, because I tested it and the results where rather weak.

With 261 Flow Capacitors it states 51 drain on the tooltip. But it's subject to target's power insulators. Anyway, added with ES2 and TR3, weapons will deal way less damage than usual :)

It's one hell of a support build. I'd rather have those power drains on my target then a sub nuke, almost seems unfair. Has your build changed since the last update?

You just need something to smack the target and it would be perfect...a kcb could be interesting for constant kinetic damage...but spike is the way to go...

Nope. Build is the same as the one you met in that match. :)

Now that I've fought it, I have some ideas...

A2id? Is that really needed? An aux2sif/another rsp/warp core plasma seems more beneficial...plus that would free another doff slot

Is the neutronium console useful? Could swap for the leech then have another flow cap console

Are those aux phasers doing much for you? No cannon skills...I'd toss a wide angle quantum or another torp with some kick

Is tss1 doing much? You should be near the shield res cap with nanoprobe, epts, pattern recognition, and elite res shield, could get a tb or swap in a he1 and get a feedback pulse, tbr(reverse if you do, of course) or mask energy sig for an escape plan

What do all 3 vesta consoles do? You could get the Voth spatial charge console or the gravimetric console.

All I can think of for now. I know I'm not a fan of the aux cannons.

    Cheers

Aux to ID is a must. It's needed to get out of TBRs and GWs, you don't have EPTE to free yourself.

Neutronium helps, believe me. I can feel the difference.

TSS1 helps keeping shields healty, as a backup power to me or an ally, at maximum aux it's quite powerful. Working on getting all rep passives.

Will see for Aux DHC. But they aren't that bad for now.

All three Vesta consoles grants the Quantum Focused Shield Bubble. Aka, Shields take no damage, hull is invunerable. For 10 seconds you're literally invincible. To cycle with RSP1, they're a nasty TRIBBLE button.

MES doesn't work in battle. Just discovered it using the Tempest. (thread is out there).

Now switch to phased polaron beams. Believe me, they will work great with this config

Remember when embassy boffs first came out? I loved my "cloaking" MVAE in Kerrat :)

For me, MES is good for not being seen at great distances. That means it can be useful in Kerrat and maybe in CnH. It worked well on my Vo'quv back when I pvped with it in kerrat.

Point of sci is thinking that your opponent is an object. Your duty is to debuff and play with him so hard that a tac passing by would nuke it in an instant.
I guess nothing helps more than a drain sci in PvP. A subsystem with minimum power seriously debilitates itself that it won't heal, it won't zap around, it won't hurt and won't have shield facings regenerate. Loving this ship :D

Hi... that's my build of a Vesta Drain...

    http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=vestadrain_5165

in the notes are the doffs...
i'm not sure if it's the best drain build... but the dominion polaron beam arrays works very good with high flow caps, even they are only Mk XI Rare weapons.
I'm not sure if it's better to use the Adapted MACO 2-pc set or the Jem Hadar set...

i use the obelisk core to reach AUX 135.
not sure if it's worth the rule 62 console or another vulnerability locator...

    Suggestions?

    Hi!

I would use Jem Hadar Deflector and Maco Engines/Shield.
Also get rid of those tac consoles, put the leech and the rule 62
in there and use two neutronium alloys (+turn)...
    I would also cycle epta/epts or epte/epts, I know
three doffs to do that, but it is worth it ;)

Thank you, but i cannot use MACO shield... it conflicts with plasmonic leech, right?
    You mean adapted MACO... right?

and what kind of doff's you would use ? 3 deflector officer and 3 damage control engineer?

    Hi!

Ooops, yeah, plasmonic and maco is not good, I forgot!
Then Jem Hadar deflector and Aegis engine/shields
That is what I would take...
Doffs: 3 dce 2 deflector doffs and 1 Tyken rift aftershock

Dominion Polaron = I hope that with the new upgrade scheme Cryptic is coming up with we can finally have mk XII to MK XIV VR versions of these because it would be awesome. It's the one weapon I would love in my ship if it weren't for the lack of Acc.

Really the set up you have listed, isn't all that bad.

If you want to use the Jem'Hadar set bonus, you would be best off using the mkxii deflector + engine, as this would allow you to retain your elite fleet shield array, but you would lose some auxpwr bonus, from the Adapted Maco being replaced.

The Jem'hadar is a better suited deflector for drains, but not as versatile as the Adapted Maco deflector, so if you can live without those extras, than the Jem'Hadar is your best bet.

Now if you prefer the Adapted Maco deflector, than I would either suggest you stay with what you have currently, or if it is a pve scenario, than you could get by with the Adapted Maco deflector + Jem'hadar engine + shield array, but this would cost you the extra auxpwr the 2pc. Adapted set grants, in favor of the 2pc. Jem'hadar boost to polaron damage + PI.

i have a paladize with all the drain TRIBBLE, phased polaron beams and polaron turrets. Is somehow efective, but 90% of the times shipon+tyken is wasted, too much hazzards and sci team around. You can time the hazzard, but the sci team ...everyone is spamming and giving love to everyone with sci team. And don't make me start with the "clean all" EptX doff....

2 of the most used healing powers in the game clean the drains. It should be restricted to one (HE or sci team, no both)
    John Sheridan@playhard88 - FED Tactical
    Vin Naftero@playhard88 - FED Sciencie
    K'tan@playhard88 - KDF Tactical
    Argento@playhard88 - RRF Tactical (FED)

I thought this thread was dead :D

Anyway, here's my Vesta drain build.

    http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=ussdynamics_0
You really want to have Phased Polaron weaponry Acc x2, two breen fire and forget torps, Vesta set is uber for staying alive and provide support to your allies as well. Yellowstones are great for CC, with EWP and tractors on their own, you don't need to use those powers on your ship.

    hey ric ^^

that's a pretty sweet drainer u built. im glad to see you switch to the jem set for more draino powaha!! lol the shield isn't all that bad either and it give you anti-proton sweep, which is more shield drain and keeps targets de-cloaked for a time. the shield isn't so bad on a a sci ship.

i don't know what that set you have does at all. not a fed player so i haven't a clue, but i wanted to suggest the tholian set. ie the web mines\console. it gives more flow caps.

also the ferengi console. rule 42? cant remember and not in game.

if that set is not important for drain i recommend those things and also move your leach and add another flow cap. the more the better ^^
Don't know why it says i'm an ARC user. i will never use that TRIBBLE Cryptic!
