Devs, could you try to balance PVP.

I'm not asking for much. Just make it so when people leave the PVP match they are punished. A 30 minute lockout or something. 2 crusiers against 4 bugs, 2 xindi escorts, 1 avenger and 2 Science ships. BROKEN!!! WE will NEVER get new pvp players if that kind of shenanigans keeps up. Hell, even veterians wont put up with that. Please, just look into it?

    They can start by bringing back gorn of the dead.

    Iasked the devs about PvP at the Vegas Convention, the answer we got was, "We'll get there, we are revamping all our old systems", same old same old. Not an answer, its an avoidance.

    And devs dont read these forums.....im not sure they are aware pvp exists

    Devs can't balance players...STO's the way it is from trying that route.

    Balancing doesn't do any good when PvP is buried under five miles of lockbox/rep/fleet/etc garbage.

    Wrong.

    Only way to bring balance to PVP is by disallowing the use of owned ships/consoles.

    Queue for PVP and get assigned a random cruiser/science/escort/warbird.
    With that setup you eliminate the min-max situation which drive new PVP players away and silence the constant moaning about OP consoles.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Before balancing PvP, someone should tell some people what Tac Team is. Today in Ker'rat a handful of klinks teamed up and advanced through spawn. At first they had the advantage, but got brutally murdered minutes later by a Fed fleet that was ripping trhough their shields. Mainly because I couldn't see anyone using Tac Team, except for a couple of ones that were habitues in Ker'rat. Others were like moving targets, just a passage with cannons with a BO could nuke a Bort.

    Sadly, no one teaches these mechanics.

    Key to fixing any mmo's pvp is to introduce pvp gear that reduces crit % and to heavily increase damage resistance.

    Relive luck base kills and have the loot easily acc ruble for newcomers. It works, and should be implemented

    Also, I had to sacrifice about 10 a day. There is blood everywhere in the cargo hold. Apparently the PvP Gods have been satisfied. :)

    Did you see the bring back gorn thread? the mods thought it was a esd style gorn joke thread and closed it. I was super mad about that. Dumb feds ruin everything :)

    They wouldn't know where to start as they lack the prerequisite experience necessary to balance PvP.

    They would either need to learn how to play PvP at a decent level, or consult with high level players.

    You also have to contend with the fact that this game is unbalanced by design in order to sell more shiny trinkets. Sure, you could nerf whatever the current shiny trinkets are and it would improve balance, but you'd be right back in the same spot with the next batch of trinkets anyway so why even bother?

    They will have to learn what the word 'balance' means first. Personally I don't think they know -- Correction, I don't think the lead Dev knows. The lead guy is the problem from what I read.

    IT'S VERY HARD TO BALANCE A GAME IF THE DEV IS NOT PLAYING IT.

    The so called 14 year old 'minimaxer' AKA me (I'm 28 by the way) can balance a game way better the anyone currently working on STO and never playing it. You have to play the game for more than 100 hours to get a full understanding of things.

    Anyway! I don't ever see STO pvp being balance as long as greed and money are involved... That's some sexy truth right there. Enjoy it. *kisses*
    The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.
