Winter ship discount CONFIRMED...

As of today, 8/22/2014, about noon EST, I can officially confirm that Cryptic has carried the account event ship discount over to the Winter event ships.

I logged on to a character that had the Breen Raider project still in progress, and found it completed when I went to donate shards to my Crystalline Entity project.

Thanks, Cryptic! The reduced grind for this year's event is much appreciated!

    In other news: Emergency patch incoming, to fix unintended side effects of the ongoing event.
    Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

    Nah, I think the account event ship discounts are going to be a standard thing now. Which is good, because it SERIOUSLY cuts down on the grind.

    I noticed this way back when the summer event actually happened, when the game told me that I would get a discount for the Breen cruiser since I'd already got it on one character. I know the green-text notification spam is hard to keep up with sometimes, but this information was given to everyone who completed a Winter ship project, two months ago.

    There used to be a picture here, but they changed signatures and I can't be bothered to replace it.

    This may actually make it worth the frustration of the race...

    Yeah, yeah, it's easy apparently... I never had any luck with it myself...
    The entitlement is strong in these forums...

    Hmm, does this only work for the Breen Raider, because I have a Breen Cruiser still stuck at 360/1000. I do have the Breen Cruiser on another character, and the Breen Raider on both.

    I tried slotting the current event, but no dice.

    The discount was applied to both of the Breen ships currently available via the winter event.

    Are you sure? I've got two characters with the Chel Gretts at whatever/1000.

    Or was it implemented differently from the corvette discount?

    Is the winter event active now? Seems a bit early. The only event i can slot is crystalline one.

    Same here, have one stuck at 360 of 1000. K'roma@Malkarris just the Breen Cruiser.

    The Winter event is not currently on, but the discount mechanic doesn't require the event to be on to function.

    Yup, me too.

    I'm very fond of the event.

    Doesn't hurt that I also have a toon with 1000 qpics ready and waiting for day one ship.

    I had 840/1000 on breen cruiser, last month the collect button showed up and 840/40.
    Worked fine on my account. :)

    My Char Ralargh-Captain@valenn is at 40/1000 for the Chel Grett with several Chel Grett's on other Characters completed and claimed during previous winter events.
    Only available option is to cancel the Project.

    *edit* All my existing Chel Gretts came from the Winter Event 2 Years ago, maybe the Reputation System does not recoginze these?

    *edit2* all are on KDF Chars
    Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...

    Or make a quick forwards or sideways roll in your preferred direction. Jumps dont always work.

    Just curious.
    Has everybody unpacked a ship on a character?
    As I recall the discount doesn't apply until you do.

    I'm so glad I had an oops moment with my tac toon and he kept the autographs. I'll be able to claim both last year's and this year's ship.

    I picked up the Crusier and Raider on four characters back during the Summer Event in June. My Feds or Fed-aligned characters took the Crusier during the Winter Event and slotted the Raider. Opposite for KDF characters. Each had between 160 and 360 Autographs extra. During the Summer Event all those slotted Assignments were switched to 40 Autographs each and every character that could picked up a ship.

    And I used the roll to do it. Tried for a few days at the beginning of the event to run the race to utter failure. I gave up. After reading the forums with suggestions on how to do it I went back in using the roll. Worked all the time. Not elegant doing it at every turn but it worked. So I wasted over a week on my main, and a few more on my other four characters (at the time) but now all of them have both ships. (Last Year was my first Winter Event playing the game).

    I believe claiming a ship is all that is need to get the discount on the alts, unpacking not necessary. Remember they are bound.

    I'd love for them to give me ship slots for all these grinding "free" ships that I may not even be able to reclaim... I HATE not being able to unpack my Breen ships because "not enough ship slots" *sighs*
