Hi Captains,

We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, July 31st, at 7AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for our weekly scheduled maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to last for 2.5 hours. The test server, launcher and access to manage your account may also be unavailable during some portions of the maintenance.

Thanks for your patience and understanding,

Glad to see these fixes being done.

Y'all still working on the skirt clipping on the Fed side? I think its the Sierra skirt. Where it has a big line going down in the front.

Resolved an issue which was causing a large amount of lag in the Foundry.
Resolved an issue which was causing the default color for Starfleet Bridge Officer uniforms to be incorrect.

Thank you guys! I was hoping these would be fixed soon. :)

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

Craylon Gas now has a chance to be rewarded in the Elite Queues Rh’lhho Station, Mine Trap.

Are they elite by nature? Because they don't say "elite."

Looks like the Doff UI is a couple steps closer to being back to pre 9.5. and 2 steps closer to me using it again.

Awesome, the horrible BO changes are going into Holodeck, and players testing already shows it makes BO even deadlier than it is now.

    Run! The vapers are coming!

Happy to see a long list of updates like that. I am curious to see how the tweak to beam overload will play out. Being someone who primarily uses dual beams this can be fun or just a massive turn in the wrong direction. Though not that I will truly complain. But I would suggest to even out the field on this increase the normal power drain firing beams would have. It would be an good offset to taking away the power drain from beam overload.
Space is vast, it's wonderful and maddening. Yet in that madness is some of the greatest beauty I have ever seen.

Guess I'll just keep asking, over and over and over........

DOFF Issues still lingering......Are these being sorted out?

    >>>All filters boxes are checked, this still means you have to uncheck every box except the ONE

for the profession you're looking for, this is neither efficient, nor fun for larger assignments.

    >>>Cluster based missions still rotating on a 20hr Dept Head timer....Not listed as a known issue,

is this really a bug/oversight or is this new behavior that's working as intended and simply never

    mentioned?

    >>>Frequency of Cluster Missions, Colony Chains/Supports/Forced Labor Camps is still HALVED w/

the removal of the actual cluster maps, their frequency should be increased at the new nodes to

    compensate.

    >>>Cluster Missions Previously available via Dept Head......Still MIA....again, not listed as a known

issue, are these being added to the sector maps/cluster lists/etc? (KDF 6hr raids, Tech to GQ

    Allies, etc)

    >>>Rom/Rem Boff recruitment seems to have gone AWOL also.

    >>>Chance of returning the "in progress" list to the old format of time till finished rather than

    splitting it into departments?

A Little insight as to if/when these issues are being addressed would be appreciated.

No fix for the problem starting science/exploration missions? I've taken to shipping components to my affected character so she could do at least some crafting.

A new item has been added to GPL stores: The Subspace Party Nullifier.

This will render its owner immune to the jovial effects of the Subspace Party Amplifier for as long as it is held in the inventory.

    Really?
    This is so sad.

And a "jovial" day it will be when I don't have to dance like a puppet on a string for some troll.

Now why don't you get to working on giving us the old Doff UI back, this new one sucks! Why change things if they're not broken!?

Craylon Gas now has a chance to be rewarded in the Elite Queues Rh’lhho Station, Mine Trap, and the Nukara Interior and Exterior ground queues.

Ummm... you know those don't actually have Elite queues, right? Are Elite versions being added, or the box added to the current versions?
    Beam Overload:
Beam Overload attacks are now always a Critical Hit.
Their tooltips have been updated to indicate that they always Critically Hit.
Beam Overload no longer drains Weapon Power.
Beam Overload's base damage has been reduced by 25% under the hood.
Its damage will be higher on average due to 100% Critical chance.
    Related powers changes:
All Power Level drain from Lance-type powers has been removed.
For example, the Auxiliary Disruptor Array no longer drains Aux power when fired.
Damage and critical chance of all Lance-type powers remains unchanged.

That's one way to fix the [Over] proc, and to make something other than BFAW attractive to cruisers. An interesting change. [EDIT] Hrm, it apparently was specifically not to fix [Over], but rather to adjust Beam: Overload itself. I'd have thought ditching the power drain alone would've been sufficient, but the auto-crit and damage adjustment is an interesting route to take... [/EDIT]
Do the changes to the "Lance-type powers" include the Ionized Particle Beam (and its supercharged variant), or only powers innate to a given ship?
Resolved an issue causing recruitment assignments on the Suliban Cell Ship to not start.

Thank you so very much for this one, Cell Ships have a purpose again.
On a related topic: Will Tuffli's be getting some new form of bonus now that Bridge Invites no longer allow for Cluster doffing, or will they remain marginalized? Or will Cluster doffing be made available from ship interiors again?
Resolved an issue with KDF "Emergency R&D Holograms" so that they now have the correct Specializations.
This will apply retroactively to existing versions of these Duty Officers.

Thanks very much for this one too... there are only so many Fabrication Engineers we need when they can't be lobbed into our Holdings. ;)
Resolved an issue where the filter options would still be available even if there were less than 6 Duty Officers in the selector list.
Filter settings are now only available when there are six or more Duty Officers.
Grouping Duty Officers by department now only occurs when the filter pane is open.

Um, okay. Do we still have to select and filter the doffs in separate pop-ups for each individual slot when planning an assignment? You know actually planning assignments like Hamlet is a pain in the aft now, right?
A new item has been added to GPL stores: The Subspace Party Nullifier.
This will render its owner immune to the jovial effects of the Subspace Party Amplifier for as long as it is held in the inventory.

Does this also nullify Emergency Power to Party bonuses? It should... but does it?

Oh dear, whatever shall we do? It's not like PvP has single-volley killer alpha-strikes, or just players in general that exploit every bit of the game they can just to have an advantage over their fellow PvP'ers... Oh, wait. It does, and they are regularly just as likely to make things worse for everyone but their small minority as they are likely to find an actual flaw.

Ah yes. The beam overload always crit... Feed back pulse just keeps getting better and better. LOL to anyone who looks down at FBP users. See it as a counter, not something lame.

I like when they input changes that indirectly buffs FBP. Now FBP III, Nukara shield, Reflective Immunity Matrix, and T4 Undine passive has a 100% chance of killing a BO vaper at full power.

Be sure to use Attack pattern Delta with your reflect skills/abilities/passives :)

Heck I might even play STO PVP again just for LOL's.
The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.

They would first have to honestly care about PvP. This is for the PvE-Kirks and their spacebars.

Wow, ****/molestation jokes, great way to get me on your side! Look, all I'm saying is this doesn't really change anything about PvP. There were ways to reliably vape opponents long before this change, and anyone left in PvP by this point knows them. The fact that a properly kitted ship can now oneshot with BO3 just means your form of insta-death is more likely to be an oversized beam now.

Suliban Cell Ship doff missions fixed = YAY
Craylon Gas can drop in game, albeit through ground missions only = YAY
Bortasqu' belt clipping fixed = YAY although I only noticed this a couple days ago and it's a cosmetic issue.
R&D materials going to main inventory = YAY
Phased Biomatter beams fix = YAY (although a cannon fix would be nice too. I'm sure it's in the pipe.)
Game not choosing purple doffs for Refugee or Asylum-type missions where the doff is lost = YAY

BO changes... uhh... Well, there's one more reason I'm not going to PVP in the near future. But at least cruisers and beam boats will have an attractive option for PvE again. And my D'kyr-flying tetryon beam-using science captain will do DPS again instead of only being good at control.

Edit: The main thing I meant to say here: GOOD JOB CRYPTIC! Probably don't hear that enough. Now just lower the net requirements on crafting xp, or increase the xp reward from the 20h project so it doesn't take 100+ days to level not all the schools, and we'll all be happy with you.
