The blog post does a terrific job of reminding us who the Xindi are, and how they fit into the current STO universe. Kudos to the writer.

I wasn't a fan of the Xindi arc on ENT. But I do look forward to seeing more of them within STO.

    Thank you very much!

There have been many questions about the "Impatient" Trait, so here's more details:

    - It is a passive 5% reduction that is active as long as he is seated into one of the Tactical Seats on your ship.
    - It will stack with any other passive cooldown reductions (such as those offered by the MACO / Adapted KHG 2pc bonus).
    - Instant cooldown reductions, like those offered by many Duty Officers, will stack with this reduction.
    - It does not allow abilities cooldowns to violate their Global/Category cooldown restrictions.

Agreed. Well done. There was some grousing and always the issue of if the Xindi had been an early rival of Humanity's, where had they been the last 300 years? This rather handily explains that as, well, they've been off in the background tending to their own territory within the Federation. Fits them. They're a reclusive bunch.

Though I must ask: is there any chance of the other Xindi appearing at some point? I know I for one would love to get my mitts on a Xindi Insectoid ship or a Xindi bridge officer.

Oh, by the way, can the Xindi bridge officer be customized?

It's like they looked at my account and made a wishlist, then checked them off one by one.

Runs a single single copy of A2B and runs a doff to keep full uptime on TT; here's a boff to do the same thing (maybe)!

Runs a FPEr on one toon and a Hunter on another; make him want to buy two Xindi escorts!

Has bought all manner of traits; here; have more traits to make you more OP!

Runs phasers and could always use more damage; here's a new phaser type with an AoE damage effect.

And there's probably more. I thought LoR introduced some major powercreep... I can't even imagine Expansion 2 at this point.

    Yes!

He can wear uniforms from your faction (Fed or Kdf anyway... I didn't actually get a chance to test Romulan stuff, but I kinda doubt he can wear those). He also has multiple "head spine" options, and a few other minor customization bits such as skin tone.

Purchasing the Xindi Boff also unlocks the Xindi Soldier uniform for use on your Captain and Crew.

So you can either change his clothes to match the crew, or change the crew to match him - your choice!

    Explore the Xindi lockbox?

I'd like to explore the mind of the -redacted- who created this box and lobi items (preferably with a high speed drill and a set of electrodes)

You've (whomever pooped out this box) given the feds one of the last vestiges of being kdf (still, it ought to curtail the whining about it being op), dumped the kdf with an option that is akin to a flaming TRIBBLE on your doorstep then capped it with a boff that stacks with maco

Seriously...what obsessed you guys to do this (well besides money)?

ok seriously, im not really sure what what is most freekworthy, because it all is MASSIVELY freekworthy

    - AA for everyone, this DARK, TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE day has come

-a lockbox 5/2 weapons escort, AtB ready, .1 off of a bug ship impulse mod, not to shabby 17 turn rate, fleet cruiser shield mod, this is the new gold standard in pug stomping :(

-those traits, OMFG those traits. they are MASSIVELY powerful with 1 stack, but 4?! that is insane.

intense Focus: +8% Accuracy and +8% Shield Penetration,
Pattern Recognition: +8% Defense and +8% Hardened Shields
Momentum: +12% Flight Speed and +12% Turn Rate

all 3 of these are game breaking, this is the highest trait creep ever, these are better then all the reputation traits combined. from this day forward, STO is now 100% P2W. these cant be nerfed ether, you waited this god damn long to post the blogs, there are people right this second equipping this or buying these traits

Marvelous. Glad that's being remembered, that we all like playing dress-up with our dolls and really like customization. :)

We can hope they incorporate that some day. Even just being able to put our Voth and Jem'hadar and such in a uniform would be nice.

It's worth remembering that in order to reach 4 stacks on each space trait, you will have to have been in non-stop Combat for a minimum of 45seconds. The instant the Red Alert drops, all earned stacks are lost and you have to start over.

45 seconds doesn't sound like long on the surface, but it is actually about twice as long as the average engagement in STO. Most players will be capping out at 2 stacks of these traits on a regular basis, and only reaching the full potential during massive space battles and high-end queued events.

Wooo! Now if only the Lobi Romulan could wear Fed/KDF uniforms and unlocked Rom clothing options for my crew...

Is it max 1 per character like with the Lobi Romulan? Or can you have more than one at a time on your crew?

I'll be the king of Ker'rat by sitting near some Borg NPCs, constantly stay at red alert, then attack those darned Fed/KDF opponents while juiced up. Cool.

45 seconds is as long as it takes to cycle EPt skills like once. an average engagment in pvp lasts 5 to 30 minutes of non stop combat, baring the occasional death, 45 seconds of being at red alert is no restriction at all. i just might not HAVE to get these for my battlecloaking every 11 seconds romulan character.

for the love god, don't let these function in pvp, please bort, please. pvp will be kill, it cant be brought back if some players have these, and others don't.

So that's 50% of the Xindi. Where are the Simians and the Insectoids? (Not mentioning the aquatics as they would have a bit of problems moving about in the game maps.

Maybe there will be a Xindi Box II with the Insectoids and Primates? I'd love a Xindi Insectoid ship.

The Aquatics hang out with the dolphins in Cetacean Ops. :p

Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

I'd say stick a fork in, PvP is done. All this plus everyone will be spamming Aceton's on both sides now. It's just too much. Too many procs. Too much TRIBBLE happening on screen, being spammed. They're piling so much TRIBBLE upon TRIBBLE it's crazy to me.

Umm, an escort that has a 1.1 shield mod and doesn't trade anything for it? Not hull (like S'golth) not even turn (at 17, it's among the better turners). And 5 fore weapons to top it off. Of course with 5 tac consoles as well. No screwed up Boff slot layout either. Seriously, am I missing something?

And a carrier with a Commander tac, 2 hangars, 1.15 shield mod and 4/3 wep layout? What's it missing? Nothing as it also boasts a Universal Lt.Comm and the best turn of any full carrier. It can actually use the DHCs it can mount.

    That's just outrageous.

    Now the mirror ships:

The mirror escort sure suffers from an expected low hull, but it's got a very nice Boff layout (for my taste, the ensign would be eng, but that's about it).

The Mirror ki'tang: interesting Boff layout, I sure will try it out. It still keeps the only 11 boff abilities habit of BoPs (with the one Fleet Norgh exception), but in a newer way. Against a hegh'ta, it looses slightly in hull, but it switches consoles for a more escort-like layout. Hmm, it might actually end up being quite better than the hegh'ta

One question: Does the Ki'tang get 'Flanking' or 'Improved flanking'? I thought the latter was reserved for the reen Plesh Brek. Also it states in the blog as improved and +25%. Improved is +33% though. I guess the Ki'tang gets the regular flanking which is +25% damage, though.

The Mirror T'Varo is another variation on Romulan warbirds, this time with a typical escortish Boff layout. Nothing to report here...except: Does the Mirror T'Varo keep the Enhanced Battle cloak, or just a battle cloak?
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

This new mechanic is just going to STEAM ROLL over PVP:
Six (6) new Traits will be made available. Each of these offers a “build-up” mechanic; growing more and more powerful the longer the player remains in Combat / Red Alert, and vanishing as soon as combat ends.

I think this is crossing the line to far with this lockbox stuff and the crafting update. There is simply too much power creep. I don't feel safe even buying any of this stuff because I think it is going to cause another exodus of PVPers so no point in keeping up with the power creep anyway.

Might as well call it the "Middle finger to the KDF box"

-feds and roms get acetons and plasmonic leech now
-kdf gets a copy/paste of a console they were already given for free months ago

-feds have had massive leaps in the Tac ship/escort/dps whatever department via the c-store, KDF community is unanimously requesting their rightful advantage be restored there. Instead, the ship that would restore that advantage is made multifaction and put in the lobi store. Nevermind the massive rage that this is essentially worse than a t5 connie... it's like a t5 NX.

You guys really just don't care about klingons anymore, do you? Can't help but notice the valdore console and the romulans aren't getting this treatment. Guess people are still buying legacy packs.

Anyway. Bonuses/Mining claims in these boxes? What about Space weapons?

Also, You guys should consider a way for me to get some of these unique lockbox kit ability module whatevers on my boffs, I'd buy some if that were the case. Space on my bar is becoming too competetive. Ditto with the traits.

Also, what good does a flash BOMB do everybody? this isn't a motley crue concert. Make it a flash grenade. Tacs can't even complain, it's one ability and they've got like six ships with 5 fore weapons and about a dozen different ways to lower their boff cooldowns now, they can let engineers have a single weak grenade power.

Also: A 4/3 DHC capable carrier with 2 hangars, CMD tac, LTC uni, 4/3/3 and a 1.15 shield mod? REALLY GUYS!?
