I ran Undine Infiltration (Elite) for the first time with these weapons tonight.

Wow. The piercing beam rifle and repeating pistol are VERY effective against Undine, even having no specific sets or rep items that increase damage against Undine.

It also reinforced exactly how wonderful the differences are between these weapons and the standard ones that we're all used to.

I noticed a pre-patch. Hopefully that doesn't mean that everything's finalized except vital bugfixes. Because I'd really hate for these weapons to be lost in the wash just because dilithium vendors had to go away for some reason in favor of crafting.

CRYPTIC PLEASE, just one response, and please seriously consider adding them back in SOMEHOW. All I'm asking for is the easiest way that will put the least pressure on you.

Reputations items alongside the Romulan Plasma stuff, general drop tables, specifci area's drop tables, rewards for the Reman FEs...whatever. Just SOMETHING to keep them in the game and increase their circulation a bit.

These are LOVELY weapons, and I don't want to see them go away.

Has anyone else at all taken up my challenge? Apart from being Romulan (or occasionally finding one on the Exchange), it shouldn't be too hard or take too much time.

Just grab a white Mk IX piercing beam rifle or repeating pistol or one of the other types form the EC ground vendor in New Romulus Command, and go run your favorite ground mission with it.

It might even do wonderful things against the Borg. :P

Or, if you're willing to drop the dilithium, grab one from the dil vendor right next door. It may be the only chance you have to get one before 9.5 drops.

I dropped the Dil for the Purple XI Piercing Beam the other day, tried it on Elachi Alert, man it's one nice gun. I'm planning on buying the lot (except the pistols, I don't really use them).

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Better hurry up! They're gone as of the 17th, until they can be verified to work well and get a balance pass.

God knows how long that'll take (if ever), given the Secondary Deflector debacle, but I appreciate the Hawk standing up and giving me a straight answer. That's all I wanted in the first place, was to get the attention of a dev, and make them aware that we want these around, and we did it.

Thank you all for helping me get some attention on these weapons. I hope they come back soon!

I don't play Ground much, but I support this - more variety is good!

Definitely grab a repeater pistol too, if you like the piercing beam. The rifle is for continuous damage, the pistol's secondary is the same style, but deals damage much faster against a single target. Both are highly useful in different situations (it's a shame the Repeater has such bad aiming animations).

Good to hear they're at least considering doing something with these still.

I have to thank you about this information. My two Romulan characters went straight out and picked up the rifle and the pistol each.

Hawk said he plans on bringing them back, but we can't know if there will be any delays or not.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

Heres pic of stats on the weapons were talking about

Overall I prefer these to the regular romulan rep weapons they add that unique flavor, ideally they should have been added to the loot tables when LoR launched. Due to the tribble dilith store removal i went ahead a purchased both rifles and both pistols, with the occasional charged assault/LR minigun across 52 alts.

If we ever get a Romulan rep ground set would love to see these added as part of the set, all of them preform very well in ground STFs as my secondary weapon. I have even used the Wide-beam rifle and a pulsewave as my new room clearing weapons since the combo can dispatch 5 enemies on a good crit expose/exploit attack.

The models are much sleeker than the current plasma rifle offerings. Hopefully expansion #2 will bring us some more unique ground weapon models to try out.

Edit: I still want a Mk XI-XII version of the retro federation type 1 communicator/phaser even if it was a lobi store upgrade.

    I bought 'em all yesterday.

They work well on Breen in the FEs.
