My Tac Klingon hit level 50 a few months ago and I've niw got him in tier five all reputations! Thats an achievement for me! If you could tell me the ship I should use and how to build it I would be greatly appreciative.
Thanks if you reply.
P.S. I have most of the sets in my bank waiting for a ship so choose any sets you like... ( I don't care about RP)
Good question. If it is for PVE it doesnt matter which ship you use.Any and all will do just fine .
If it is for PVP that is a bit of a problem.
I put myself this question many times during last years and bought a couple of ships in this time but none it is as good as the ships my romulan char's bought .
As a result my kdf tac is doing only ground PVP from season 8.5

If there was one ship to rule them all, we'd all be flying it (lol scimitar). Anyway, we need a bit more to go on. Would you be doing PvP or sticking to PvE? We'd need to see how your skills are specced, or if you are willing to respec.
Do you like science heavy ships? Engineering heavy? Do you prefer cannons or beams? Swift ships, like Birds-of-Prey, or slow tubs of war, like a Bortas? Maybe something in between, like the Mogh?
Are you looking at C-Store ships, Fleet level ships or Lockbox/Lobi vessels? Are you willing to spend some Zen to get a lower tier ship just for the console? Would you spend cash to get Lobi to get Lobi equipment? Etc. Etc.
I know, all these questions are a bit much, but otherwise we're all just randomly guessing. And I'm not going to do a whole spec/build for every KDF vessel out there, :P.
Isaac the Adequate - Level 70 Oath of Devotion Paladin
Well, since the op didnt say nothing more than the class of his captain, i will recommend (for a tactical captain):
Guramba Siege Destroyer
Mogh Battlecruiser
Heng'tha BoP (The tier 4 free one, it is still an awesome ship for tacticals).
Mirror Somraw Raptor / Somraw Raptor retrofit (i prefer the mirror) and if you have a fleet..
In the last place, even if it is not a pure tactical oriented ship ->
Karfi Battle Carrier / Fleet Karfi Battle Carrier (for me the best battle carrier of the game ^^)
Of course i mixed here raiders/raptors/cruisers since the op didnt say anything about it..
For a klingon tactical, those are my choices. Now, for a mixed eng-tac that is another story...
1. Rogue like - cloaked hit and run ... go for B'Rel especially now with raider buff.
2. Mogh - best battlecruiser for sustained damage + aux2bat ... though I ruin Vor'cha because I like canon ships
3. Vo'quv - more for science toons. But I love my durable Vo'quv + 12 elite scorpions. Lots of fun and DPS to be had.

Thanks. Since I have done all the PvE stuff I'll probably try my hand at PvP. As for my style, I mostly play the style. I'm willing to spen Zen and have over 50 million energy credits as well as 80,000 dilithium.

Well, you are not going to be able to buy anything with that ammount of currencies. And buying a ship with dilithium is a HUGE mistake. With 50 million EC you cant buy anything good talking about ships, you need at least, i dunno, lets say a random number, 200 million EC or something like that. Anyways i dont know the last time i checked the prices of the exchange ships, but more or less..
Now, your only way is ZEN.
If you going to play pvp (i will never recommend you, pvp in this game is totally broken) then, again, we cant give you advises until you tell us what style , mostly you want to play (escort, cruiser, tank, etc). And if you going to pvp, then i cant help you, since i never play pvp in this game.

the HELL are you talking about? Mirror ships, some just as good as C-store ships are well within his price range at 50 mil. just becasue its not fleet level, doesnt mean they arent competitive. I run a mirror Vo'Quv and frequently get 1st in CCE. and last i checked, it was in the 17 mil range.... with the plder lockboxes dropping again they should drop in price.

Erm.. that is not what i meant. In fact, i also have a mirror vo'quv, and a mirror hafef. Well, i didnt know the mirror ships were so "cheap" in the exchange right now, but the last time i checked , well actually a long time ago, maybe six months ago, a mirror vo'quv was about 100+ mil. Of course mirror ships are most of em equal to c-store ships. But as i said, depends on what ammount of EC are you willing to waste. Sometimes (well, most of the times) its faster and even cheaper to save zen and buy a c-store ship than saving EC for a mirror ship.

rewmember, mirror ships drop a lot more often than the other lockbox/doffpack ships, meaning they usually have hue supplies when their lockboxes are dropping, being that there's an "all lockbox" event, its highly likely mirror ships will become pretty plentiful again, thus lower prices. they only go up high in price when the supplies dwindle down.
Hi everyone. Just giving you some more info. I mostly play the cloak and dagger style, most of the time I jump in cloak, fire up all my abilities once the targets dead, I cloak and get ready to repeat. As for flying a bird of prey, always, its my main ship but I fly a raptor on the side. There's the info. INFORM ME ON WHAT TO DO!!!
For a good escort: Mirror Qin (Mirror Somraw is interesting but too light on the TAC boff slots)
For a good sci: Mirror Vo'Quv (better boff slots than the standard one, IMO) but get better pets. Elite Scorpions from rom rep are good. Elite BoPs from fleet are also good.
I'm not sure what kind of non-KDF ships you have access to. The Breen Plesh Brek raider is rather versatile. Different play style, to be sure, but flexible in terms of seating. The Breen Chel Gret is also very capable and can mount DHCs.
Let me put this out there, though. If you have zen to spend, or a little money: The Mogh. Get it. It's even better if you have multiple toons (it spreads the price out and gets more use because you unlock it account-wide). You can make that uni boff be ENG, SCI, or TAC. I've tried all 3 combos on my fed Avenger. Doesn't seem like much, but you can go all-beams for an 8-BA braodsider, you can go DHCs for a tanky cannon escort, you can go DBBs for a different feel altogether. The layout of this ship allows you to play around repeatedly to suit your whim of the day without having to change ships very often. I think it's a good investment, overall. If you're not willing to spend zen/money, see my 3 suggestions above.
Cloaked player? B'rel BOP looks good... enhanced battle cloak might be what you seek. Trouble is, its lacks a ltcmdr officer and gets an engineering console for its upgrade... sort of an odd ship all around.
Fleet HOH has the tac console but not the better cloak.
I drive the fleet norgh, and it has the better officers but is missing a console.
So basically all 3 of the major BOPs have pros and cons, but again, only the b'rel has the strong cloaking, and all of them having at most 6 weapons.
After you get past the BOP family, the ability to cloak is reduced to out of combat only. If that is ok with you, a lot more ships are useful (?), just depends on what you want.

I'd suggest the Mirror Qin if you like Raptors. Mirror Vo'Quv is one of the tankiest carriers in the game, and the Mirror Neg'var has a very balanced console layout.
All three are easily available on the Exchange.
We really got the short end of the stick in PVP. Cryptic knows this. Cryptic could care less.
That said we have to make the most of what little we have; So what I have found is that we have 2 ships that will work.
B'Rel Retrofit. This is a excellent trolling ship and I have even made a few kills with it. But boy can I PO people in it. If you wait until their are fighting mobs or players and their shields are low or gone, hit them with gravity well and destroy them with torpedoes and vanish like a ninja. I love it.
The Fleet Hoh'Sus - It has 4 tactical consoles. In fact it is the only BoP with 4 tactical consoles. I follow my prey until I find a good time to strike. If they engage a mob I close on them and alpha strike them taking advantage of my Romulan rep trait, tachyron beam and tractor beam. I almost always kill them in a single pass and cloak before the rest of the Fed Ball and respond.
If you load the proper consoles you will take very little damage. You also need some Romulan bridge officers to decrease your cloak cool down and increase your crit. I have taken out 2 scimitars, a bug ship and a few cruisers. I tent to select bug ships because they are easy kills. A Scimitar may often be a glass cannon and you can take them out too but it is risky.
The trick is to look for "Soft" targets: Ships that are injured or have low or depleted shields.
Is it honorable? Yes it is because of the total lack of balance in PVP we have to act like predators picking off the sick and injured. All if fair in love and war and this is a war. They cannot fry foul when they have the better ships.
And finally - yes I have started to rant a bit. The BoP works well in teams. A Hoh'Sus with a B'Rel torpedo boat is devastating.
Have the B'rel stay just at 9km and follow the prey. The Hoh'Sus closes in and attacks bringing down the shield. The entire Fed Ball will attack the Hoh'Sus who will immediately hit his Fluidic Jump and no one will even notice that the B'Rel fired a quantum torpedo spread and finished the prey. Actually the B'Rel can get off a few shots unnoticed while everyone chase the Hoh'Sus. Try it. It is loads of fun.
If you have a torpedo boat you should have no problem finding a team mate. You will destroy Fed after Fed while they chase the other ship. Just set one ship up as a shield stripper with all protection consoles except for tactical and let the B'Rel deliver the kill shot.
Also a flow of any BoPs on one target is deadly. Have one attack and run away to draw the attention of the Fed Ball (Fed are always in a tight ball lol), run away and hit them with a gravity well and have his mates kill one of them and cloak. Rinse and repeat and watch them all rage quit Ker'rat. Loads of fun.
We are not getting any more ships. Sorry to say, but we can still put a hurt on the Fed when we work together.
Tor'kaht or Mogh if u want dps-tank, those are good with either beams or cannons also I had much fun in fleet k'tinga with TOS skin.
Fleet somraw is good if u want pure escort, luckily it doesn't have that sucky pivot point that Qin have.
Though we still don't have 5 fwd weapon-5 tac consoles ship. Bortasqu variant have 5 tac consoles but fail turn rate, Mogh have 5 fwd weapon slots but it's not escort.
Guramba was super fun (uber death star like beam, those 100/200/300+ k critz aww yea) but it's sadly obsolete in current state of game and has only 15 turn [ even worse turn in siege mode], don't get ur hopes for fleet guramba especially +1 tac console slot. It will probably get +1 eng just like fleet b'rel (facepalm).
Sadly ur best option is to get box ship like gal0l/hunter/nicor/jhas/temporal.
btw. Don't know how it would perform for tac but for sci I truly recommend Kar'fi.
I'm not doing much pvp.
I'm using several different ships on all my kdf
But since they implemented flanking for BoP, my Fleet Hoh'Sus with it's 4 tact console is a very good dps maker.
I was a Raptor Driver up until that ship came out, and for PvE I feel like there is none better. The C-Store Mogh console is lackluster imho, so the Fleet Mogh is the way to go. Assuming PvE here, for PvP I have no real solid opinion (though the Vet ship looks theoretically nice).
5 forward guns goes a long way, and Fleet RCS consoles plus Tachiokinetic make up for turn issues... though a DBB FAW build might even be better than my SV Fleet Elite DHCs.
For STFs, I've been mostly able to keep up with the power creep and stay at or near the top of the meters in a Mogh. There are of course Scimitars who will wipe the floor with all comers, and I've seen some other ships (including an all-Antiproton-Array crit hit FAW Undine) that I couldn't even come close to keeping up with, but even in those rarer cases the DPS has been the FotM build ships, my Mogh, and a big gap before all else. Other than not going FAW, I've usually been able to make tweaks to close those gaps when they happen. Very happy with the results all around.
