Many new players... Less veteran because a lot of them quit the game. So I think probably normal situation most of players don't know how to use kit. By the way, who is still playing ground STF? Last time I queued for ground STF. It was so long I took a nap and I missed the popup
This is always something that gets complained about. New players don't know how to properly do STFs, or any PVEs. Some (not all) of the new players doing them on Elite have tried them on Normal. One of two things happens.
1- They are all new players, and there is no veteran to teach them what to do.
Or
2- They used tactics that worked in Normal, but not Elite.
They are new, and sometimes just need some guidance. Besides, in the end, it is just a game, so really nothing to get upset about.

i'm not sure if i understand the OP fully, or correctly, but if he/she is saying that people in ground STFs aren't using any KIT powers, he is absolutely right...thx to shooter mode.
Not saying that nobody is using KIT abilities in shooter mode, but the majority just doesn't. How i know this? well, i actually look at the buffs of my fellow grp members, and when you see people doing grp content without ever activating a single buff, you know the guy thinks he is playing CoD.
This still needs some major refinement in regard to handling.

why experience player like you is pubing?
so you could get on forums and bash ppl?
if you are so experience and god like, why dont you join some of more advance channels in the game, or hey, where is your fleet?

Shooter-mode was a pretty unnecessary addition. I know of only one point in the game where it is useful. The DS9 promenade in "Boldly they Rode". Groups of Jem'hadar will shroud if you approach them. With shooter mode you can target them anyway before they attack you.

You know that this doesnt mean he is in shooter modus? I love it, since I come from CS:S, and tend to instakill mobs with all classes...

Agreed. The first step toward a mature Theory of Mind is realizing that not everyone knows what you know or has done what you've done. Coming to that conclusion is more difficult for some people than others.

can you not still hit 1 through 9 on the keyboard when in FPS mode is this not the same keys where kit power are placed by the player ?
yes, problem is that 1-3 is occupied with your gun, 4-9 is only enough for you captain powers. another 4 for KIT and 4 for devices and another 3 for trait and other stuff are unreachable.
even if you put your gun on something else like Alt 1-3...you are still a few too short

shift 1 through 9 work the second row this is pretty common in mmos wow works like this swtor also
its Ctrl or Alt works the third row
cant recall without loging in imo this not worth the time

no, it's Ctrl...shift is running.
Anyway, this is not the question. In my experiance, when i see people in grp maps never using a buff, they are using shooter mode. True, there are also that ignore buffs also in RPG mode, but atleast to me it seems that shooter mode users tend to ignore abilities.

i was wrong about the shift but Ctrl and Alt do work the other rows what the C1 A1 stands for

yes, but why do you compare 2 RPG games with the "shooter mode" in STO?
Name one shooter instead that has 15+ abilities. There is none, because taking an RPG and implementing a free aim mode is not the same as making a 3rd person shooter.
Now if STO only had 5-6 abilities, it would work...and there are quite a few shooter games that do.
not the only problem with "shooter mode" anyway...latency when shooting, healing others or giving your ground crew commands, when aiming in shooter mode, you practically see nothing anymore.

im done replying to you now you know about A1 C1 so on do with it what you will
and this why i now make jokes all i can about ppl getting lost in exploration missions

And how do you see who is using what mode? There is no Icon for shooter or rpg. The only icon is for zooming/sniping, which both modi have.
I think the normal que STF should be available earlier so new toons or players can practice earlier... OR have the elite open up not until you get the omega ground set or... have x number of normal STFs before the elite ones are opened up? And this being STF mission specific. Problem solved..
I mean the best way to fix this is to give out STF schools where you basically are trained in a training camp. Usually this exist in fleets but most of them die out after a while. I was trained though my fleet and sadly I don't see any of these practices today in same fleet. So many new people don't get the practice.
+ There is always a very small percentage that never listen you no matter how much you try to explain how the STF works LOL

Doesn't anyone remap their tray?
I have used shooter mode since I started playing. (eleven months later found out there even was an rpg shoot mode. )
And I have always reset both my ground and space trays so I can find the effects I want and when.
And last ground stf I was on I used my medical kit and sci abilities in shooter mode. Just aim at the party member you want to heal and press the corresponding ability key.

Its a learning experience for a lot of players. They play the normal stfs a few times to figure out what to do, and once they've got it down, they move on to elite. This is where people start complaining about noons. The first time in an elite stf is a surprise. We all know its gonna be harder, but how much harder is completely unknown. Just because a certain setup worked well in the normal mode, doesn't mean its gonna work in elite.
To the OP, I say chill out and stop whining. If you don't wanna vet stuck with noons, stop doing pugs. (Also, please stop using Google translate and just learn proper English).
To the new players, ignore the OP. Don't let people like that dictate where you play. Keep at it, and learn what to do. If you need help, you can post in the forums and someone is bound to give advice, or you can search for an open thread and get help there.
