And destroying the Exchange would produce the same result, except that instead of players being merely unable to afford the items, they can't even FIND the items. Players who have items are not going to accept an unfair deal for those items. Which means if those players cannot get sell those items for their fair market-determined prices on the Exchange, they will sell those items on third-party black market trading channels and sites, as if the Exchange did not exist. Only the most worthless junk would thus be found on the Exchange.

You say "greedy" players, but who is the greedy one? Someone who merely wants a fair price for what is already his, or someone who covets that which belongs to someone else and wants to take it from them for less than a fair price?

That's a strange way to use the word free.

Wow, it's no longer just greedy billionaires, now it's a conspiracy of greedy billionaires

Aside from discontinued and seasonal items, all the things on the exchange can be produced somewhere in the game. If you don't like the price on the exchange, just produce it yourself. And, given your use of the word, such production would create the item for free.

You can produce the item for free and you can earn the trading currency for free but you still want to dictate other people how much currency they can ask for their item? What was that you said about greed?

The EC problem is caused by greedy players, plain and simple.
Items have an EC list price on them and they should be capped at that price i.e if it says its worth 1000 ec all you can list it at is 1000 ec or less.

And dont give me this, we need to make profit bull when most of the items you get are for free even if it costs zen as most farm dilith for zen anyway, dilith has restrictions and it works.

All that ever happens is an item in the market is identified by the traders as profitable so they buy every item they can among them and then this restricts the market, demand rises then the GREEDY players start to sell back the items at inflated prices. This does not help the game it hurts it by pricing new players (the life blood of the game) out of anything worthwhile then they come to the forums demanding change and then things like this happen.

If we need anyone to blame then its the trading players and their greed !

You have a great deal of nerve making such blanket condemnation of of other STO players without proof of wrong doing with malice aforethought. Such a blanket condemnation of the rest of us is offensive and probably a violation of the Terms of Service both here and in the game.

    Consider yourself reported.

Assuming I understand my overused buzz terms, isn't this an EC buff since it'll make the currency harder to get and therefore more valuable?

For another currency, perhaps. With EC, it will merely slow the rate of inflation slightly. When EC is used in the system, the EC is not actually consumed, it just bounces from player to player. Therefore, all the EC that presently exists still exists and will continue to exist for the indefinite future. All this has done is slow the rate at which freshly printed EC enters the economy. No meaningful amounts of EC ever actually LEAVE the economy, unless you think someone is going to buy several million batteries and then somehow manage to eat them all.

Thanks for that, I appreciate it, reported for having an opinion you dont like ! (you see the problem ?)

Or people delete their accounts !

As for winners and losers, have you ever noticed its the greedy people considered winners and reasonable people considered losers, that speaks volumes !

All this is going to do is increase the gulf of the have's and have not's, pretty much reflecting real world conditions at the moment. Check history the have nots always win.

Why should they make these hateful, malicious changes?

Because if your going to put a cap in you should do it right, (read before you post in future, i clarified this once allready in another post).

@Commrade: You really think more than a tiny percentage of the player base would mess around doing that? I don't. And once the customer base disappear having a workaround isn't going to mean squat.

Ive been playing a long time since the game went F2P n ive seen meny nerfs i hoped that the dev would of learned what the players like n what they dont. But they just keep nerfing instead of fixing bugs. My time in game is half of what it was last 2 years n the way things are going ill only be loging on for a hour a day.

I am with ya buddy, I used to log on daily now once a week maybe (If I can be bothered) and I visit the forums daily hoping to see some positive changes.

Standing back like I am now and not taking part so much I see much better, how the dev's are playing the players, broken promises that get you reprimanded for mentioning anything they dont like. The way lots of 'certain' players run to defend them in many ways (the same people) that are not justifiably reasonable unless there were some hidden undercurrents at play.

I just see a bunch of people being manipulated and having their purses/wallets massaged with empty promises and the expected, followed by a wrist slap if you should dare to mention/complain about it (which you are not allowed to) !
