Should Delta Flyers really be allowed? They were developed on the Voyager, and AFAIK the war was over by the time they came back.

No spiral waves for the Galor? I thought those were canon?

Nevermind. I need to learn reading comprehension.

Considering STO's Galors are Dominion war-era Galors, *I'd* consider that canon.

Emira specified no neutrnoiums. Thoughts on Duranium and Tritanium? Given most ships are made of them...

I'd also like to mention turrets? Why are they banned? And would one for a fore weapon, for example, be acceptable?

    Devices: None

does this mean "no, you're not allowed to use devices" or "no, there are no restrictions on allowed devices"?

Allowing fleet ships seems a bit excessive, IMO.

A level 20 escort is going to be gutted by a level 50 Fleet Defiant, even if it's only using the generic tac consoles.

If we're allowing fleet ships, might I suggest letting lower tier (1-3) being able to use uncommon/green gear?

Looking at Memory Alpha, they used Phasers.

Turrets are specific to STO, not Star Trek. And must turret would be like weapons platforms, not added on ships

    No Devices Allowed.

I decided on allowing Fleet Level ships because they are equivalent to the Lock Box ships they'll be facing. The lower Tier ships, mainly the Miranda, can survive in this type of combat, especially when our abilities are limited as well. And some would like the challenge it presents.

And for the Dominion Alliance side, they are all lvl 50 ships.

      Captain Emira 07,

I do look forward to this and hopefully get some good clean pew pew in with you all.

Reading over the rules again I noticed that the rule about TT was taken out? Is that correct? As well was hull healing ok? I mentioned that the shields were understandable but to hull heal?

I think I might see myself flying the KDF side as there maybe too much Feds hahaha.

That being said I think the rules that you drafted up is something we can use as a basis for PvP within STB. There are also Steve's rules which to be short had NO consoles & NO abilities whatsoever but I think with the PvP match you and I did it was indeed ok as it wasn't too long and felt just right.

Regardless I look forward to see who comes out and joins in the Dominion War.. Captain 07

I think Federation will be well represented over the next few days. As well as the KDF and RSE (RR). Breen and Dominion will also be on hand. Where we'll be short will be Cardassian. Not sure how many people have Galor Class Cruisers and I'm still debating on spending the money for one.

As for the restrictions on heals, limiting to Lt. abilities was enough. Besides, battles change when your dealing with players and not a limited AI.

Not really relevant to the skirmish itself, but the white common requirement really turned me off. Especially since XII whites are incredibly difficult to find. I suggest, for the next match/event, standardizing to XI blues so all the unique items can be used, efficient impulse engines, free phaser arrays, the retrofit arrays, all that good stuff.

As long as we're all operating on the same standard, it shouldn't matter, right?

I'm inclined to agree -- white Mk XIIs aren't common. I bought almost all of the reasonably priced disruptors and plasma torpedoes off the exchange to outfit my D'deridex a few days ago. They cost me 250k a piece on average - I've had to sell some Mk XII purples for less than that. I couldn't even get the type of shield or engines I wanted.

I know it's too late to change the rules now, but I think we might want to reconsider allowing, at least, Mk XI greens for the next one of these.

The main difference between the Common, Uncommons, Rares, and Very Rares items (excluding the generic consoles, i.e. Phaser Relay, Neutronium Alloy, etc., etc.,) are simply the Mods. The stats don't change unless the Mod adjusts it in some fashion.

The generic consoles (which I did adjust the rules for) are the only things that have a boost depending on rarity.

However, next time, after we see how this one runs, the rules can be adjusted to include more items. Not sure about the Unique items, but that may just depend on the situation/recreation we're going for.

          Greetings Captain 07

Well when I logged on we tried putting together one and was able to get 5 together.

1 of the Captains, Zacky, was the camera man for the first match.

The first match up had a Galaxy class and a Rom DD vs. a Bug and Chel Grett.

I have to admit it was pretty freaking EPIC!! and that is coming from someone who doesn't like PvP.

It was uneven tho with like 2 cruisers vs. 1 cruiser and escort BUT visually it looked like something right out of ST with phasers and torpedos missing and the ships trying to gain position on the other.

The match had 4 cruisers go at it and well... it took a while. I think with hull healing that is what did it as there was a bunch of times where I should have blown up but my hull heals saved me. If we take that out it will be quicker matches and everyone can get some good pew pew in and move on.

Matches were up to 5 and it was a good test to see how things were and I think all were on a level playing field.

I hope there are some more who come out and try this as it was some good clean fun.

Quick question regarding BO abilities, specifically engineering. For the Commander slot on cruisers, your only rank 2 abilities are eject warp plasma and aceton beam...am I reading the rules wrong that these are the only ones allowed?

            Zacky!

I don't know how you got shot at, did you BO not understand the order of stay cloaked? haha!

Don't have to be sorry but I wish you could've tried it out as well. Might've been better if after the first point for you and I to switch spots as it would've been a better match up.

Hopefully we can get something going later today.

            Captain,

All BO abilities are good only up to LT. So LT. Cmdr & Cmdr abilities are NOT allowed.

Really, imho, it makes the playing field level.

I really did have fun and hopefully we can try tonight without any hull healing and see how quickly that makes matches because if anything the fights showed in the DW were short and sweet hahaha.
