Not being able to connect is lag taken to a much higher level, so the diagnostics still apply, or at the very worse, will tell us whats not causing the problem...
You misunderstand, the gameclient doesn't get a chance to connect as it becomes unresponsive and I get a windows popup saying close or wait for the client to respond.

I don't play Champions so don't think it relevant.
I was playing the game normaly when I went for lunch. When I got back, I could not control my character. So I chose to log out and now I can not log in. I get can not connect to patch server error or unable to authenticate. Any ideas? It is problem on my side or on Cryptic?
Just chipping in about not being able to connect to STO and neither Neverwinter via Cryptic Launcher - I'm in northern Europe and other parts of the world are having issues so I'm just gonna wait for a fix.
Launcher takes looong time to attempt to update or not responding at all...in game(s) I lost connection to server...yep.
