Choice of superior boards is a pain

I think MM is one of the boards by the stairs, hard to be sure.

It's not, in fact the MM one is not on display at all, having looked over each board. Also taking note of individual boards there is also a red-colored superior (not KDF one) on display as well.

I've cataloged them all..... starting on bottom level outter clockwide starting at board vendor:

    Wood-white
    Superior-Yellow
    Enhanced-Black+Orange
    Enhanced-Teal+Aqua
    Superior-Cream
    Wood-White
    Wood-Yellow
    Superior-Lavender
    Enhanced-Cream+Red
    Rental
    (unknown Superior Red)
    Superior-KDF
    (unkown Superior Green)
    Superior-Fed

Turning around at fountain and going right:
    (Unknown Purplish Enhanced)
    Superior-Yellow
    Wood-Green
    (Unknown Purplish Enhanced again)
    Superior-Cream

Then starting at stair rail and going up, clockwise:
    Wood-Blue
    Enhanced-Cream+red
    Superior-Lavender
    Rental
    Enhanced-Black+Orange
    Superior-Cream
    Superior-Fed
    Superior-KDF
    Wood-Yellow

So there appear to be some boards on display we canot buy, and at least one we can buy, not on display.

    Hey guys

First off: Great job on Risa. I love it!

What I have issues with is matching the name of the boards in the store to the actual exhibit displayed next to the vendor girl.

    Agreed on both accounts !
Enjoying Risa , but I did not know that my "Klingon Empire" board would clash with my swimsuit .
    That's a 1500 Favor mistake right there ... .

I snagged a KDF board - nice, sounds like I'm podracing. Next a Creamsickle superior. I can't tell much difference, as boosts change things. So far the last board is the middle (500f) and I think KDF aside, they look the best. A bit slower unfortunately, but who cares?

With the new slotted utility belts, it's a shame we didn't get a 'frame and basic motor/skin' like the rental. And being slotted we could add a choice of skin and performance upgrade.

I'm not a soul surfer... give me a small board to carve Risa up with.

As for Superior looks, ignore the outline color of the display boards, and focus on the stripe color combinations, as only the tip of the board is being shown in the thumbnail.

You would notice any performance difference between the 1500 and 1000 boards because there is none, the 1500 is merely a faction-themesd superior board..... you're paying the extra 500 for a faction logo and a neat sound.

I'd like that, too. I love the white board with flame pattern on it, would love it if it were a superior.

I'd also love it if they'd put the unavailable boards in the vendor, as well. The superior boards are all very boring and uninspired save the KDF board, but I'd at least like to have that black and red superior board that's displayed in the shop.

I just came in 3rd, 1st and 2nd placers were Fed and KDF boards... Every time I race I'm beat by a Faction board. They do go faster even though the item descriptions don't show it. To test that a fleetie and I just raced, my Midnight Marauder against his Fed Board... Both of us with Lohlunat Tribbles... He was faster. Not by much, but enough to make a visible difference going in a straight line with no jumps or obstacles. :(

Most of my characters are running Faction boards, and I say the above quote is a load of hooey. I've outrun "plain Superior" boards at times, and had them behave like they had a speed advantage on me at others. I've also beaten Faction board riders with "plain Superior" boards.

Then I suggest you perform the same test we did... We raced in a straight line, both buffed with tribbles, no obstacles, the Fed board was visibly faster. I don't post hooey, I test and retest. There are a number of factors in the actual race that can change the outcome... We performed a control test, with repeatable results.

Can't you rightclick->info on the item in the store and get the 3d model of it to look at?

not quite 3D but enough to see what you are buying.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Have you taken lag into account? What is displayed on your screen is not exactly what is happening server side.

Been there, done that, nothing changes my initial assessment of your posted hooey.

And how did you control for lag? Did you tracert to make sure you both had identical paths to the server?
