Elite STF - ISE. Bug or was we screwed!!

vivenneanthonyvivenneanthony Member Posts: 1,278 Arc User
Hey,

So, I have been playiing the ISE Elite and usually the groups I can play with can clean up the map in 5 minutes. I noticed recently I was being blown up and last night me and another player was hit with the following. In 6 seconds our shields and hull was 100% then it went to 0% no matter how far we was from the Cube.

Tactical Cube deals 1972 (2713) Plasma Damage to Dllen Ashby with Plasma Torpedo - Heavy III.
Tactical Cube deals 125227 (210171) Kinetic Damage to Dllen Ashby with Plasma Torpedo - Heavy III.
Tactical Cube's Plasma Torpedo - Heavy III gives 6273 (50830) to your Shields.
Tactical Cube deals 84543 (213696) Kinetic Damage to you with Plasma Torpedo - Heavy III.
Tactical Cube deals 1677 (2647) Plasma Damage to you with Plasma Torpedo - Heavy III.

At first I thought it was a bug, but playing again in the morning the Cubes was way harder. I then started watching the Cube status. It was using a lot less abilities but throwing a LOT more damage. I have the feeling Cryptic upped the AI.

Then in my mind.

I was TRIBBLE you Cryptic. You nerfed the reputation system then increase the difficulty of Elite dramatically. So, all the people complaining being blown up easily compared to before look at your combat log. I really think not only have Cryptic screwed Veterans but made it difficult for new level players to even compete with the content and veteran skilled players.

If I'm right, the Cube 423,867 kinetic damage one shot, 50830 damage to my shields, then 5360 plasma damage in less then 6 seconds.

I want my 8/8/4 reputation system. I can't imagine how much harder the borg Hive Elite is. I was fine after the initial hit from 100% to 10% but the second hit. Boom!!!

You're not supposed to. You also couldn't survive it in the 'old' reputation system either.

Why Beam Fire at Will is so overpowered. Shoots down those things before they blow you up. :D

    1. What is your Difficulty level on Options?
    2. What was the skill level options of the other players?
    3. Did you get hit with this combination yet?

players have been boasting for a while that STF's can be done in a few minutes at most, naturally considering the recent 8472 stuff, i bet there will be something that will make ISE a bit harder. if people had not boasted, its possible the devs may not of picked up on it, but being stand up means if you were wrong you take the hit as you should.

this has been around for a while now, before it was invisible insta death torpedoes. best way to get around it is by sacrificing some of that out right damage for a defense turret to take down the heavy 3 plasma torp. i would rather see consistent damage rather then one massive burst, death, another massive burst then death again. best way to equalize the issue is by revisiting the balance. borg are inherently more powerful then most other races, thats the way they are, recent tech has made things easier but borg as always overcome these challenges by assimilating more people. one shot torpedoes has always been absurd and a fair few people over the years have stated how much they dont really like the system.
I don't know one player that can survive that much damage in the time frame of 6 seconds with this new reputation system.

easy, if i knew im not getting anywhere, do what the borg do. adapt. losse some dps for an automated turret if its that bad.

Difficulty option doesn't affect queue missions. If you join an elite mode queue, it's automatically on elite.

this has been around for a while now, before it was invisible insta death torpedoes.

It's still invisible insta death torpedoes. And what's more, they seem to be infinite range invisible insta death torpedoes.
On several occasions I've been taken down to about 20% hull, bailed out sharpish, made it to 15k+ range, healed up to a good 60% hull/100% shields, and then taken twenty thousand damage from literally nowhere. Nothing to shoot down, or use Brace For Impact before it hits. Just exploded.

reads like another one was fired at you before you got out of range and it was following.

the way i handle borg is simple prodigiously use brace for impact, rsp, hull and shield buffs, tt as much as possible and to cover as much as possible between cycles to keep from loosing too much too quickly, those shield neutralizers, find other ways to buff your power levels to keep shield regen as high as possible eptw can keep your others systems from being drained too quickly and aux 2 bat to increase the strength of your heals and so on.

Something has been done to increase the Borg back to the situation where they can hit people without any chance to react.

The most recent run I ended up going from full hull and shields to 10% hull and STILL full shields. I pop all my heals and bail out of range with evasive and get blasted again. The heavy torpedoes they are firing are not visible and cannot be stopped.

So players are being gutted by near one-shots that cannot be avoided. That is extremely unfair and has been a consistent problem through the history of this game.

If Cryptic cannot fix this bug permanently then it is beyond time they removed mega torpedoes from the AI enemies entirely. Give them more beam weapons or shift their torpedoes away from the super strong plasma death balls to spam happy photons.

I rather like the super-powered Borg. Not the invisible torpedo, mind you, but the fact that they are actually a threat. It is so much better than the "Hey look: I can solo two Cubes, four Probes and three Spheres at the same time with a Miranda."

they have been slinging around super powered high yields 3's for a long time now, ive been personally hoit for over 450k by one, survived a few, but most of the time they do so much damage that no matter what your res enough gets through to pop your hull.

Used to be once a match, or once every couple of matches, but if its more frequent something might have changed.

For some reason, when they fix a bug in the Borg STFs, it will hold for a little bit, then it will come back with a vengeance. The Hive fixes that were done have been undone for about a month or more now, and the invisible torps have been off and on for about the same time now.

Sometimes you will go in and they are working fine. Then, you can go in and get hit with the invisi-torp, of the cubes will spam Heavy Plasma torps back to back. I had a cube fire 6 of them at me as fast as my hyper plasma torp cam fire 6 of them. And the ones from the cube were Heavy Plasma.

I have also had the cubes hit me with a tractor beam, then as soon as it is done, they hit me with another one. One cube held me with 3 tractor beams back to back.

Then, there is the tome that I was in the Conduit. I was outside 15km of the tac cube, and haven't even got near it yet. I got hit with an invisible torp from it that one-shot me. I respawned, tried to move back in, and it did it again before I could get to it. The other players on the team were telling me it wouldn't target them at all. I got it's agro, never fired a shot at it, and got killed as soon as I got within 15km of it. I had to fly around outside that range while the other 4 just kept hitting it.

I am hoping that with season 10 they can have the STFs working right. If not, it will mean that we will just be using more components. Lol.

lets be fair here, you're not supposed to get hit by high yields, just shoot them down, the gozertorps on the other hand are and always will be annoying.

And that, muh friends, is why I never go in to a Borg eSTF without my Automated Defense Turret. It may be weak, but it protects against invisible torpedoes.

This is not bad damage because it only cycles this way once every few minutes...never timed it

    If

You have skills in kinitic damage resistance

If you know how and when to use brace for impact

If you know how to use the TT/eps/hz emmiters combo

If you know what and when and how to use RSP

If you know how to manage your ships power levels

and if your in a Cruiser but you dont have to be you can tnk this damage

I do it in many differnt ship types every day Escort and cruiser

This is the way it should be......................
    Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
    Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng

elite does need to be harder.. a lot harder.. it is elite, not normal.

everyone doing elite like its normal.

i personally have taken a team and did cure space in about 2 minutes..
we all went separate ways and blew up all 3 cubes at once. it was silly.

ships are getting more powerful but the missions stay the same.
