I was thinking the Fed needs a battle Cloak. Maquis Raider? with quad beam bank? either as new escort or lobi or lock box.

You thought wrong. Feds do not use battle cloaks. The Defiant Retro and the Galaxy-X are the only Starfleet ships that should have any form of cloak.

The Feds need a "Phased Ablatative Armor Generating with Secondary Shielding Cloaked Barrage Quad Beam Bank Firing Eight Heavy Cannon Quad Transphasic Quantum Torpedo Battle Cloak."

I will not be satisfied until such a cloak is available for the Feds.

feds dont need battle cloaks, they need proper carriers, not something that looks like genitalia.

Mind you, some of those end game Romulan ships do have a...let's say....circumspect aspect to them.

Circumspect, not sure its the right word, but close........

I love it how still the Klingons are the boogeyman of the Fed. players' nightmares, even though the Romulans are the battlecloaking faction. :D

    Indeed they do.

Anyway, FEDs don't need a battle cloak, but I think everyone here knows the OP isn't serious anyway.

    Maquis !/= Federation

Also, Maquis never had cloaking technology... they were just really good at hiding.

    So we can disregard that.

If anyone has an original ship idea, though, go right ahead and pitch one.

    And the Pegasus.

But, no. Fed ships do not need cloaks.

Although I would like to see a Maquis raider at some point. Maybe even have Starfleet use it as a template for a new ship class, it did prove its effectiveness rather well, after all. And make that new raider the Fed frigate pet for the proper carrier they need.

Hm, true. Except the Romulans don't whine quite as much. Oh, and Romulan culture and technology is actually interesting, unlike Klingon culture and technology, which is just bland and stupid.

*does a little song and dance number* Every faction got a few whiners. And Feds begging for cloak. Or like Romulans asking to remove the yoke. Or the KDF wanting to treated like folk. Every faction got a hero, a fool, and a few other things that make them same and yet not the same.

I dunno. Part of it is just their visual style. It's so...brown. It's very hard for me to be interested in a group of people who make everything olive green and grey.

And their culture is just "kill everything, and claim that you have honor and glory while stabbing people in the back with cloaking ships". I mean, whatever. It's pretty cliche at this point. And yes, I realize that the Klingons are one of the classic Proud Warrior Races, but that doesn't change the fact that as of now, it's been done to death.

Honestly TOS-style Klingons were much more interesting.

Really, though, I hate any and all humanoid factions. This is science fiction. We should be dealing with aliens here.

How about an actual klingon science ship?

Base it on a raptor chassis but the cloak has to make room for sensor analysis.

However, reflecting the klingon warrior ethos, leave its weapons four and three.

To paraphrase my favorite Krogan: "When was the last time you saw a Klingon Scientist?"

Klingons only know one type of science. That is the Sweet Science.

I keep hearing that Feds shouldn't have cloak, but I haven't heard a single word as to why they shouldn't. That's probably because nobody has an argument that bears any merit and just want Feds to be easy targets. They can't get the drop on a cloaked enemy.

Here is a few words. Canon, each faction having strengths and weakness, in the history of the IP cloaking Starfleet ships are used by pretty much "evil" Starfleet captains (Which I choose to put Sisko into that group of monsters), and here is the biggest set of words

You can't have you battlecloaking t5 connie with 10 weapon slots and 8 tac consoles, please stop asking.

I have an original ship idea, ships that actually look like the ones that were in the franchise, not half done (expletive withheld) with crappy textures and misaligned parts, that would be something new. I'm sorry but I look at the shiney new Undine Bioships then I look at my old Dreadnought with it's messed up parts or other iconic ships of the franchise that are in this game with their long ignored problems and I can't help but be a bit disgusted.
No the Federation does not need a battle cloak, they don't use cloaks in the franchise, with two exceptions one of which happens in an alternate timeline, and they shouldn't be using them here, the Federation is supposed to be good at detection and making cloak use a liability, but have hope guys, this is Cryptic we are talking about, what makes sense for Star Trek doesn't really matter here, so you never know what they might have planned for the future and unless CBS has said no to Federation battle cloaks, the issue will never be off the table.
I am a strong proponent of the concept that the different factions in this game should be allowed to have different specific technological advantages so long as the other factions have corresponding technologies that can counterbalance the effectiveness of the technology they do not possess. I think that is the way is supposed to be, this "We got to have everything that everyone else has" has done nothing to improve this game. It should never have been "we need what they have", it should have been "we need a defense against what they are using".
TL;DR You don't need a cloaked ship to fight a cloaked ship, you need something that defeats the cloak.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
