STO Patch problems

Hi, When I start the launcher, It starts to patch. If I view the transfer window, it seems to get stuck on a few files.the download count increases,
but the patch count stats the same, as does the percentage patched. Its as if the required file is nto being downlaoded correctly.
I have tried 2 differenct PC's, and have rebooted my network hardware.
I have also changed the disable ondemmand patching option, and the proxy settings ( I have tried all combinations ), the problem still exists.
I am using Win7 ( fully updated ) and I have disabled firewall, and antivirus.
Does anyone have any sueggestions?

    Please try the force verify under the option menu of the launcher. Same place as the proxy setting you;ve found.

    Thanks for the response.

    I have tried this several times, on all PC's but the same result happens. Interesting that the file that gets stuck is not always the same file.

    Something else of interest to note, The game was working perfectly before the new season 6 patch. Now, patching automatically starts but doesnt complete.

    Once I left it overnight, it downloaded 11GB of data but it progressed no further as far as amount patched goes.

    There is something wrong with the patching system that insists on downloading 10GB worth of files every week.

    Force verify, disable on demand patching, etc are all unhelpful.

    One thing that does help as mentioned in certain other threads is to do a complete fresh reinstall of the game, which includes deleting any and all STO and Cryptic related registry information.

    If you have had done fresh installs then the point is moot and there is no fix and no community acknowledgment of this very annoying 'patch forever' problem, which exists in no other MMO game I have played.

    This game is definitely not worth 10GB worth of downloads per week and I'd like some new ideas and solutions for a change.

    EDIT

    After downloading another 2GB wastefully I finally got the patch to move by doing a force verify, restarting the computer, force verifying again and it's now up to 95.1% after 32mb of downloading.

    I cant literally say anything worthwhile about it cause I only got as far as character selection and maybe 3 minutes of gameplay while getting disconnected four thousand times.

    now I cant even get beyond the map loading screen without getting a load error and game crashes,

    PWE/Cryptic You owe me 24 hours of my life back, but the ugly truth is your mods and dev wont even look at the forum otherwise you'd post something useful.

    STO was a fail guys, go play WoW... least its legit.

    My patch is gone crazy.First of all it begin at 800mb.It was ok but thenIs stopped at 99.6%.Then it starts to patch again(after i restart the pc)but it patchad 6gb.What The heal is going on .Can somebody help me?:confused:

    How old is your STO install?

    Other patch problem threads prescribe a complete reinstall of STO for the new season.

    I myself had downloaded over 30gb of stuff during STO weekly patches since the launch of Season 6, which is part of the reason why I stopped being an active player. STO takes up barely 10GB of space on my hard drive!

    Try a complete reinstall and see if it works for you.

    Last night my STO was fine, tonight i opened the launcher and instead of the launcher coming up, it attempts to auto update the launcher twice, then tells me it cannot connect to the patch server and closes.

    I've filed a ticket with PW but my faith in them is very low. What could possibily be making my launcher bonk like this? :confused::confused::confused:

    The launcher is simply an Internet Explorer window. Clearing browser cache & resetting internet connection should do the trick.

    I have wiped my whole system, redownloaded STO all the way up the last patch, and then get an error35 (Mirroring 1: xinput 1 3dl) a file was locked that could not be open for writing. Then it tries over and over to patch every 6 seconds. Whats the problem and when will it be solved?
