The patches can be pain but it always happens the first week of a new season. People seem to forget that at least they are trying to fix some of it as quick as possible. Granted the need to fix some of the constant bugs that have been around for a long time which get people wondering if they will fix anything. I used to play Battlestar Galactica on line which is a pure PVP game with hardly any story content to it. They only patch once a week for bugs even if they put new content in it and a lot of times the patch created even more bugs. You still had to wait till next week for another patch. When the bugs shut down the game then they would fix them that day otherwise you wait a week for them to be fixed.

I don't mind. It is only a few hours in the AMs. At least they are fixing the game and making it so we all can play, not too bad of tradeoff.

I did enjoy the hirogen armor bug discount while it lasted. Sad thing that it was fixed so fast and the real pests are still ingame :(

+10, but i assume the OP wants a game so buggy that it'll not only wreck his entire rig, but also his wallet as well.
    Rejoice JJ Trek people....

I like the fast iteration you fix up things and patching the software.
Bugs and issues are well minimized over time - with a look at the massive feature implemations in this agile continuous development project.
A good software cycle has a short and continuous feedback loop, and you made it very well Cryptic! Are you Scrum? ;)

Actually its not funny. STO could have about 75% less bugs that it has now. Right now, STO is the most bugged game on the story of the videogames. That is a fact like a temple. Some of you just resist to see the reality. Or some of you are just cryptic employers of people that needs to justify their monthly money deposit to cryptic.
Really, the most bugged game out there, eh? Where's your proof of that?

Also, saying that it's the most buggy game in existence (or something similar to that) isn't reality, it's fantasy.

I think you need to play more MMORPGs.

Ive been playing for about 20+ years in dozens (i will say thousands lol) of mmorpgs. I even played the most game ever bugged of the story that i will not name (did time ago and they just erase it) and it was even less bugged than STO. And thats the erason i know STO is far the most bugged game ever. Sorry. Others mmorpghs had their bugs, but i will say this a thousand of times, not so many like STO has right now. BY FAR. But there will be always pepole trying to defend cryptic, because they love their game, i get that. But if nobody is honest, then this game is nothing. The truth hurts most of the times. But we need to accept it.

It is irritating with the every day patch yes, but at least they're trying to fix things. It is, afterall, Cryptic!! If you've played this game for a year or more it should be expected. Roll with it folks. They'll get around to it this decade. I promise. lol

This level of maintenance activity right after a major launch is not entirely atypical. But after a week or so it should go back to the normal once per week maintenance window.

Some bugs are based on the computer setup someone is using. I could play the game and only find one bug once per week while someone else could play the game and find a bug every 10 minutes because of their computer. Then there is the case where people put different emphasis on bugs. A bug might be game-breaking for someone, but just a minor annoyance for someone else. So saying STO is the most bugged MMO is only your opinion. STO could be better, but it has some features that are better than other MMOs like the Foundry and space combat.

Are there bugs in STO? Yes.

Are they game breaking? Sometimes, yes. But usually fixed pretty fast.

Is it the most bugged game ever? NO. That title goes to Knights of the Old Republic for XBox/360/PS2 as it was known to destroy the machine. And probably some other games out there as well.

Also, if you can list One, just One game that is COMPLETELY bug free on every single computer currently in operation, regardless of configuration/age/use, please do so.

Otherwise, try to offer some help to the Dev as you seem to know more about the code than they do. Hell, go work for Cryptic in their programming department and fix all the bugs you see.

But wait, then you'll have to test it on every other system configuration so that it is bug free. Have fun.

It broke the consoles? Dang... that's worse than that bug one of Eve's patches had that corrupted the computer's OS.

people complain about bugs not being fixed and now you are complaining when they are.

    read the release notes.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

    That's interesting. 20+ years, eh?

It's April 25th, 2014...so you would have been playing MMORPGs since before April 25th, 1994...

Which isn't possible. Multi-User Dungeons, whether text or graphics - well, sure those go back a wee way. MMORPGs did not appear until 1996/1997. Some folks have a hard time accepting the duo from '96 as MMORPGs as well...but hey, they at least came close to fitting the definition unlike the MUDs that MMORPGs evolved from prior to '96.

So pretty much that and the rest of your post trying to substantiate the "authority" for your "appeal to authority" to substantiate your claim...is just a substantial pile of poo.

    Maybe he's counting MUDs?

Either way, saying that he's played "thousands" of MMO's, well that's hyperbole of course, but from how he speaks I would say he's played less than a dozen. And by "played" I mean fiddled with the character creator for a half an hour. :P :D

I figure he was counting any game that had some sort of "online" aspect, even if it was a completely single player game you could download patches for from a BBS instead of buying a mag for the floppy disk because 300 baud was just that painful.

Obviously, i played a lot more than you and the other guy if you think STO is not the most bugged game ever. You guys talk too much, but the only thing you guys do is to make jokes and dont have any idea about what a bugged game means. Good job lol.

Ya, 20+ of MMO's is BS. It's more like 18-19 years ago. My first MMO, barely, was Darksun Online. Then Ultima online, EQ and so on.
