You capture a tholian vessel.
You drag it all the way to a starbase. You gut it of boiling lava. You replace all the computers with Starfleet/KDF computers. You put in a breathable atmosphere and normal gravity
But you don't change the bridge.
That...is impossible. There is no budget for it. You must leave it the way it is.
It isn't like building a kdf/fed bridge isn't possible or COMPLETELY LOGICAL.
You just...don't feel like it.
I think someone should do Star Trek Online fan fiction on that.

...damn, and it'll be three months before the next Redux event! Quick, someone suggest it!
But, yeah, it IS kinda weird. Before I found out you could change the Chet Grell Breen Cruiser, I couldn't help but laugh as my Voth BOFF was parking his hinder quarters in front of a fan blowing out cold air. Shouldn't he be passed out asleep instead?!
From what Tacofangs said, the interior of the ship is still boiling lava. The only part of the Tholian ship that is habitable by non-tholians is the bridge.
I'm assuming Tholian defectors/privateers crew your ship while you and your bridge officers and doffs inhabit a really cramped bridge.

Nah.
A captain needs control of his ship.
5 kdf/starfleet guys on the bridge and 3k tholians in the back room doesn't smell of someone with control of his ship.
Lowly Tholian Engineer A: I am just going to pull this leaver and flood the bridge with lava. It should kill the captain and his 4 crew instantly. He won't even have time to react.
Lowly Tholian Engineer B: Wouldn't that make us bad people?
Nah.

On the other hand, the 5 Starfleet/KDF guys could simply choose to flood the rest of the ship with liquid nitrogen and lock-out such commands from the bridge.
And anyway, like I said if Tacofangs says the rest of the ship is still uninhabitable without an EVA suit, then I'm assuming the rest of the crew are tholian defectors. They have no reason to mutiny.

I can't get my condo association to agree on anything, you think 3k tholians area on the level? IMHO, certain non faction ships should have the option to change bridges to certain faction ones

Your condo association isn't fighting the borgconiandinelachis, they're also not made up of a sentient crystalline spider-like species (although HOAs are pretty brutal).
I don't disagree with being able to gut your lockbox ship's interior and put in a faction ship bridge in its place, however.

I point at iconians' sig for an answer to why we can't do anything with the interior of a Recluse.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!
The nut who actually ground out many packs. The resident forum voice of reason (I HAZ FORUM REP! YAY!)
normal text = me speaking as fellow formite colored text = mod mode

Anything in STO that makes no sense can be solved by his sig tbh.
I can't take full credit for creating the meme. It used to be "Everything is a Nemesis plot." from City of Heroes/City of Villains. I just took it with me to STO and thankfully the Ancient Aliens guy was already a meme.
That and Cryptic reused the trope even before the game launched (with Janeway foreshadowing the Iconians having a direct hand in the Hobus Supernova).
It might be my opinion, but it seems to me they're very well aware of how cliche having the Iconians behind everything is.
After reading the blog about the Undine, I noticed they retconned the Iconians being responsible for antagonizing the Undine into believing the Federation violated the truce Janeway made with them -- to the people Janeway made a truce with was only a "small group" of the species and were not representative of the entire government, who disavowed any truce made.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it seems to me that they're trying to tone down the Iconians being behind 'everything' in STO.
Or maybe that's just what the Iconians want you to think.
Given a choice between crewing your ship with humanoids, or crystalspiders, which would you choose?
Crystalspiders are just better. Search your logic. You will know it to be true. I mean come on, the humanoids crewing the ships in most ST series basically lose every fight they're in, except in DS9. And that was only because of the Sisko.

Life support settings have been optimised for its new crew, someone turned the heater off and the air conditioning on.
As for the computer system - First contact with the Tholians happened around TOS era, I'm assuming by now that there is sufficient knowledge on their language and culture. Learning that wouldnt take no longer than a couple of evening classes at the local community college.

Nah, they just crew the ships with Horta!
My character Tsin'xing
You've just made me spit coffee everywhere lol so true!
But at least its got easy access for disabled crew, I mean there are grab handles everywhere!
and no steps like some of the other bridges.
I don't know the scimitar could take a close 2nd with that one.
Praetor of the -RTS- Romulan Tal Shiar fleet!
