My biggest complaont is at endgame

There is nothing to do but team up and redo grind content

    There is NO endgane content

No player economy to help support like SWG had

No colony to create or support

Nothing to explore...no territory to claim and colonize

on and on...............This is where i believe they should be putting there investment

Not making ESD prettier.........or another pointless grind for more power we dont need

And i agree with most points the OP raised

Especially how ulgy the avenger is and the Chim...................and how small Avenger is
    Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
    Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng

JJ-Verse will never be Canon or considered Lore...It will always be JJ-Verse

    Does that help?

    I fixed that for you.

    Welcome to a MMO.

SWG would never succeed anymore, ever, it had no real endgame at all, nothing to do even when you start the game other than to repeat the same thing over and over again until you use up all your stat points and grind for crafting.

nope, you know nothing about fixing full MMO game codes. and yeah your right "A BUG" as in one, every few days, is quite accurate.

And do you? Again mission hasn't changed. that one mission has been that way since it was introduced and it a a clear error. This is a graphic error like the Venture saucer bug. it doesn't affect gameplay but makes the ships or missions look good. why can't those be fixed easily. Now some will take a awhile with many people but some easily done but aren't. I DARE YOU TO DEFEND THAT!

if it was not for paying player base we would not have STO period. and if you do not have a happy player you will not have a player at ALL.

And yes we help pay the bills. CBS made this game to get MONEY. How do you get money? you give a service that people are willing to give money to.

If that were true, CBS would allow Tier 5 Connie, but they won't.

YEAH, they REALLY do have bugs, and Tera has some other SERIOUS problems with its game.

Cryptic does deserve being yelled at for many things, but lately it seems like anything that anyone disagrees with is a failure and proves the game is garbage. Crpytic is in a rock and a hard place. keep reps as they are, yelled at for "power creep", make it better and more maluable, yelled at for "nerfing" them.

i did not say they had none, i said they don't compare to the infestationsto has, and has continued to have...and tera's bugs? name some that compare even remotely to what sto has k? played the game since cb, there has never been anything like what cryptic produces...the only game i can even think of comparing them to is DDO. often wondered if they're related, turbine and cryptic...their modus operandi seems identical. pile new content on as quickly as possible without fixing previous bugs which makes the new stuff even buggier.

warframes biggest bug is it's hosting system, if they dumped that in favor of servers it would improve everything a thousand fold.

and it's not just bugs, the fleet system, the dil gouging, the discouragement of a whole segment of mmo gamers. ddo had the same plan at first when they introduced guilds...and backtracked FAST, changed things so smaller guilds could be formed, used a % reduction in costs compared to accounts in the guild (not players so alts of the same account don't count towards cost)

it's not just bugs/glitches, it's a philosophy of cryptic having a plan and never ever rethinking it, instead they throw out events and new shinies like passing out crack to addicts. only lasts for a bit though and then wears off...and you can't keep that up for very long.

And what legal issues, the ship design is owned by one person. the person who made it. I think they would be easier to deal with then activision or bethseba.

It's not easier to deal with. I don't know the specifics, but I do know they've posted about this in the past and said they won't be doing this. It came up quite a bit during the lead up to the Design the Enterprise Contest.

I'm not privy to the exact details. But I do remember their posts about it. It's not something they're planning to do.
OR maybe HIRE the person. for their current crew is TRIBBLE.

They did hire a bunch of new employees over the past two years. Much of what was left from the City of Heroes team was absorbed by Cryptic. For some it was a bit of a welcome home situation. There's Cryptic North based in Seattle that is working on Champions a bit and an as yet unannounced project.

They certainly aren't in a hiring freeze. But at that point it's up to the artist to be proactive too.
And i actually did take a break.

That's good to hear. You definitely sounded really upset and frustrated. And that's never good for your attitude toward a game. I mean, at the end of the day you play games like this for fun. Not frustration.

I get why you created this thread. To vent. And we all need to do that. And I'm not trying to undermine your frustrations. I was just offering you some information and insight I had into the ship point you brought up. It is something that they've talked about in the past. And they've said they won't be doing that due to their license and potential legal issues, both of which they were not specific about.

So I'm just passing along information.

For me, I like their current ship artists. I think they've done a nice job with the Romulan ships. And I think they did a really nice job with the Klingon and Romulan Dyson ships. So I'm not that frustrated with their work. But that's me. I realize others have different tastes. I wasn't trying to say you're wrong or anything. Just trying to say they've reported in the past that they won't pursue the use of fan designs.

I play the SWG emu, and yeah there IS no content, not really, take off your nostalgia goggles.

Also the original SWG (before the combat upgrade) only lasted for about a year, not three.

    No real endgame?
Nothing to do but repeating something over and over?
    Grind for crafting?

That sounds like a certain mmo I know... Just that the one I'm referring to doesn't even have crafting.
Have a guess which one I mean..

CBS couldn't care less if sto is successfully or not. If anything they get a certain license fee, which does not change in matter how big pwe/Crptics income from this game is. More likely the license was payed prior.

Oh boy where do I even start...
How do you know the t5 Connie wasn't in use? Because the fact you didn't see it does not mean it wasn't there. And te fact that it appeared in multiple episode screenplays and had to be changed for technical reasons (studio model unavailable) may not make it canon but it makes it quiet likely that those ships are still in service.

And with mentioning the k'tinga you purposely forgot to mention the d'kyr, kumari ect.

or NX, and Stock Connie. those a zen ships. different and note the Zen ktinga isn't Tier 5 only the fleet version. And Note Excel replaced the connie. while some scripts wanted to have the connie. heck the Stargazer was supposed to be connie. they decided against it. But by TNG era no connie was seen in and fleet. Even dominiuon war you saw tons of Miranda and Excel but NO CONNIE. she is done as an active ship. I don't mind Zen store versions but that's all.

There is a K'Tinga non-fleet T5 version. STOWiki has it in their playable ship list.

The D'Kyr is not older than the Connie. It is a 25th Century ship that uses a pre-22nd Century design. The D'Kyr was created by Vulcans that had Warp Travel for centuries before Humans. Therefore, the D'Kyr has matured to such a point that there is no point to changing the look of newer versions. I can easily see Klingons, Vulcans, and Romulans use old ship designs to create new ships, but I can never see any human do the same thing except as a hobby for personal use. So it would never be a sanctioned project for Starfleet and all Starfleet ships were originally sanctioned projects for Starfleet. We are too much creatures of change to keep a design the same. After all, how many people do you see putting Formula One engines in a Model T Ford?

The didn't decide against it, production limitations made it impossible = the studio model was not available.

Also: The Ambassador replaced the Excelsior. The Galaxy replaced the Ambassador.
So what again is the argument in the Excelsior replacing the Constitution?
If that really happened, since the Excelsior might be just a different ship, just like the Akira is just a different ship then the Sovereign.

Then explain the Connie that got blown the **** up at Wolf 359.

Starfleet was scrambling to mass whatever forces they could get to the battlefield and, based on we never see another Connie in that entire century, that single solitary ship was probably parked in permanent Earth orbit for Academy training or as a museum ship.

The connie in that episode was one the producers had on hand, that they destroyed to use in the scene. It's never been verified that it was a connie or if it was some other kitbash ship they used in a destroyed state. Plus the information in that link you provided is from a soft canon source. CBS has never verified that it was a connie.

But even if it was a connie, there's nothing to say they didn't have one sitting around ESD as a museum relic that they might have thrown into service due to the emergency. There's nothing saying the connie was in active service or being used for anything. It might have even been an academy training ship.

note Excel is still in production but nolonger the premier ship of the fleet. Excel is a work horse right now like the Ktinga or BOP is. Ambassador is still in limited production and is still in service. Galaxy is Clearly in service. However the Connie is not in service. Besides a trainer or museum ships the rest are in mothballs.
