What is the Arc Client?
Install Arc

Patching....

Well, in 3 years of STO I've never had this happen before, I downloaded 385 Mb of a 284 Mb patch, it says its 75% complete. I clicked cancel and tried again.

It got to 57% complete and downloaded 221 Mb of a 182 Mb patch.

I'm on my 4th attempt.

My wife's computer is doing the exact same thing which is weird because, I have on demand patching disabled, while hers is enabled.

Any ideas?

Give it some time, some of the files take awhile to move it even 1% of the way, also you could be experiencing a bottleneck somewhere along the line.

Normally my launcher patches quickly and without a problem, but today... I gave up after 5 hours of it being stuck on 74.8%. Cancelled and restarted only to have it stall at 65% for 2 more hours.

Also I forgot to mention, sometimes the patch is successful, but the % indicator will remain frozen as if the launcher screen doesn't seem to keep updated to the incoming information. This isn't a 100% guarantee that this is your problem, but I have experienced it first hand myself from time to time.

Hmm... If that is the case, is there anyway to bypass the launcher and just go straight to the log-in screen? We just cannot get past the updater. >.>

Edit: Never mind, found out how to bypass it...but now it doesn't want to get past the log-in screen.

I let it download another several gigs, it still won't progress over 67%

I guess that's it for me

The only other suggestions I can say is, you may be experiencing some bottlenecking or that any combination of security scans may be holding it up or back. You may need to verify with you IP that they aren't restricting data packets in some fashion thinking that you are using a file sharing system in order to pirate stuff, instead of playing a game. As for it working I had no issues myself tonight, but than again I don't use ARC or Steam to play the game (neither of them worked when I tried them) and I pray I never will.

yeah I don't use either, though I do have steam, I just haven't run it through steam, though my understanding is that it just runs the usual launcher anyway.

Neverwinter patched in like 2 minutes and I am now in game.

STO fails no matter what I do with it, just did another force verify and deleted the .patch folder just for kicks (thinking it might force it to redownload the recent patch), didn't seem to affect it.

121/182 MB seems to be where it gets stuck every time, even downloading a gigabyte

well, out of nowhere, running it via steam, it patched. I have no idea what actually went wrong, i tried various solutions on both machines, even changing internet connection, nothing seemed to make a difference.

Either way, it is now up and running, I guess Q got bored of me :p

Ah excellent. I've been having this issue for almost two months now. Yes, two months of being unable to get into the game.

Gets a little way in, jams up and then happily continues to download gigabytes of information while refusing to process the patch %. I use the Ctrl-X command on the launcher to see what files it's having issues with.

Following PWE Support suggestions, I uninstalled STO and now cannot reinstall it because of this issue. Happens if I launch via ARC or Steam. Have downloaded well over 40GB trying to get this thing working.

PLEASE let me know if you can even remotely figure out how you managed to 'fix' the problem.

Having this issue as well (Yet AGAIN). After 2 1/2 years of telling them to sort this c... out I am we ll and truly tired of it. It's a known issue, and it's one they NEVER bother to fix. Either fix your patcher Pakleds or stop using it and give us a manual patch to download because this joke is well and truly past it's prime!!!

I for one would love to have the ability to download a manual patch. See I have only one option for Internet at home and it's a crappy DSL line. However, when I'm at work I have a 100MB/s+ connection that I'm free to use as I want. I would love to have the ability to download the weekly patch(es) at work and install later at home. How hard would that be to implement? That's not to mention some of the random failures I get while trying to use the autopatching...
