Rapid Reload and Crit Bonus would be nice
The ability to load different mines into it could be interesting
How about a Projectile Weapons Doff Officer that increases Shield Penetration by 30%
What about a cloak for the Breen Bomb sort of like the fabled "Torp Of Doom" used by Borg?
How about a secondary effect knocking out systems for 3 seconds unless cleared by engineering team?
Perhaps it could be affected by the system targeting [Wep,Sheilds,Eng,Aux], to knock a system off line as a bonus

The damage is no worse than the other DPS weapons with shield penetration 'Voth AP" for example. Plus the mere idea of everything [PVE/Live targets] shooting down the torp before targeting your vessel seems crazy but that is what has been happening. Heck even Aceton assimilators destroy the torp. STO has done a nerf job on the Breen Bomb it used to have a much higher penetration rate. All I am saying is it deserves an upgrade. How much.... that is for the Devs to decide.
All of the Breen Stuff should come in MK XII IMHO. Whether it it Lobi, Rep, or Fleet doesn't matter. I'm not sure on the adding Torpedo specials or Mine specials because Attack Patterns already affect it. A Tac with all buffs popped can get 60-90k damage on it it when it hits without Transphasic consoles or Breen set.
Yeah I agree that the entire breen set could use a leg up.

Even though you are right, instead of adding new rep and gear they should be updated old gear and gameplay to match what we already have. I thought they would be upgrading all the NPC's with more hull and more aggressive tactics to make our overpowered ships less overpowered (and have fights last longer). But if that's not the case, then season 9 will be a massive let down. I was also hoping that they'd upgrade the UI and the older ships from (2010 - 2012) instead of constantly making new shiny ships that are more over powered than the previous months ship.

Funny you say that, cause the upgrade part is something you will not get. New, more OP toys? Lots of those. Updating old stuff (especially old free stuff) would decrease want for shiny new toys that cost time/dil/zen. The reason that new ships are more powerful than old ones is to ensure that they will sell good. Old stuff? It had it's 5 minutes already.
And don't use recent Galaxy pack/revamp/update as an example - it was an experiment and STO's movers and shakers already know how it turned out.
Next thing is mirror versions of old (non-updated) cstore ships. Why? Almost noone is buying them anymore, and adding new mirror ones will boost key sales a bit.
As for Breen cluster torp, is powerful enough as it is. If it gets shot down, you are not using it right (note that FAWing or gravwelling said torp is not always a deliberate tactic, because all targetable torps are fragile). Any boosts OP proposed are really insanely overpowered. Imagine a B'rel torper using the proposed doff. Thats just one example.
Oh, by the way, Borg does not have cloaked torps. Its your PC that fails to display a costume.

Put my name to this before, putting my name to this again, the breen set needs a mkxii version in the lobi store like the jem set (which for the cost in upgrade could argueably use a look at).
The breen cluster torp I find works fine as is, its a high risk/reward weapon. Sometimes you fire and fail, sometimes you fire and devastate.

Except Voth AP doesn't have any kind of extra penetration, it never had higher penetration really...they decided when they changed mines to 80% the cluster would stay the same.

I've had all 10 Crit before as well. It is a sight to behold those giant yellow numbers all above 2,500 :eek: My Jem Dreadnought and Voth flight deck both have the Breen Transphasic + Hargh'Peng on them (I never leave a dry dock without those two).

The Breen cluster torps have really high spike damage, but they also have that nasty 30 sec cd and even with torpedo doffs and rapid reload transphasics to proc the cd reduction, I've found even among torpedoes they don't have the best sustained dps. A mk xii version of the rapid reloads would go a long way to help that.
What confuses me about the two ingame sets that DON'T have a mk xii-upgrade path (Breen, Aegis) is that ST:O in NOTORIOUS for recycling/rehashing existing in-game assets and then saying "Look...Content!!!"
Whats the slowdown of giving up an upgrade path to buff these sets? Why not make it a 4-pc set and add the transphasic cluster and/or rapid-fire transphasic torp launcher as part of it? MUST we stick to the 'Weapon Set" and "Armor/Shield/Core/Deflector" -set model?
It is hard to imagine how much better they could make the Breen Cluster.
I have Romulan crit bonuses and lots of torpedo slots for torpedos plus fore/aft Breen Clusters.
It's already nasty as it is and all easily obtainable n00b gear. I dont even have a fleet Tvaro.
In my sci B'rel, it is already nasty. Breen set, transphasic consoles, 15% EBC bonus, 6% for 4 Nausicaans, plus the rule 62 console. If i get flanking? BOOM! Mini-Genesis device
The Breen transphasic cluster torpedo is already really great. It doesnt need any improvement or buff, maybe the XII will be awesome, but right now, its maybe one of the most useful "rare" torps out there. Not only deals A LOT of damage, but of course, can do AoE damage, and the crit chance is really high compared with other ones. It has low CD (for a torp like this type) and boosted with the breen set and trans consoles it can be really deadly. You can deal easily 50k+ damage every time (i usually do about 60k+ . ..) .
Not only that, its a GREAT weapon to slot in any ship, specially in ships with lower number of weapon slots. It compensates the lack of dps really well.
And other great thing is, as far as i noticed, it can be buffed with some skills xD, like the scattered field of a science captain
So, the only thing to improve will be the MKXII, more than that.. no please. Or we will se so many "plz nerf it" right away.
There was a "Torp of Doom" I personally have seen all five ships on a team destroyed at the same exact moment by the invisible weapon. I do not believe it was a problem with my PC or graphics card. What I do believe was it was a Dev tool designed to slow down the pace of efficient teams who were making a mockery of the Infected mission.
This reasoning follows the same tact they took when they "Upgraded" the Borg in the ground missions. Tac Drones running and shooting through soft walls became the new normal. So them doing something similar in space was only a matter of time.
Now as far as an upgrade to the Breen Bomb I like the idea of the rapid reload. This would be nice to cut down reload time to 10 seconds. People who cry about it apparently don't know about the impulse capicator or evasive manouvers. Heck even the point defense module or the bio neural warhead can take care of blasting a breen torp. FAW and other torps work against it too.
Perhaps there should be a vote on the list of things possible for improvement. Let the fans decide what they want a MkXII Purple version to do.
They're pretty powerful at the moment, but as a heavy user on one of my toons, I'd love just a little bump, the XII designation and purple colour.
And while the devs are at it, a small Lobi version bump to the items that carry the Breen set bonuses would be nice too, please (not the bonuses themselves, but just the shield, engine and deflector basics).
Just a smidge, equivalent to the upgrade for other sets that have Lobi bump versions - at the moment, the basic stats on the Breen units are so crappy (comparatively) that you have to sacrifice a bit too much to get the bonuses if you're flying grown-up ships. It would be nice to have versions that are just under, or almost par with, the stuff available from rep (as per the stated design intention for the upgrades to the Jem Hadar sets).
The Breen set and the Aegis set need attention. I can see the standard sets being left as starter sets for new level 50's but there should be a Lobi or holding unlock to get XII purple versions of that gear. The Breen set needs a Core and a bonus for running both torps the cluster and the rapid fire. Some type of chroniton bonus or something. Also the Aegis set sould have a XII version that you get via some complicated or end tier crafting. PErhaps crafting it from items only availabel via the lobi store or from Tier 5 starbase personel.
