Rylana Tirade #12342341257
Ok I get it, I also have 10 characters. Many of us have a bazillion farmers etc.
But constant calls to dumb down the content/reputations/whatever else is absolutely wrong.
It is our own fault we have a conflict of time and management with our bazillion toons, but the game is being designed for one to a few characters, not the juggernaut accounts with 10+ farmers or whatever.
It sucks double worse for me because I actually PLAY all 10 of my chars in PvP and high end content, always have. They are fully geared, repped, etcetcetcetc. Keeping up with that is a monstrous endeavor anytime something new comes out, I need to have it NOW to be competitive and with the curve or I fall behind. Oh well, I nose to grindstone as it were.
That isnt the point though, the point is I made a conscious decision to lump that huge pile of grind on my own head. I could have just as well stuck with my 2-3 original toons and been where I am now anyway (and probably even a little richer due to far less spending). I am dreading the Undine rep coming out
but oh well, thems the breaks.
if youre complaining about commendations, mirror invasion and other one-off events, reputations, fleet contributions, expertise, or any of the other grindy content in the game merely because you cant keep up with your three dozen alts, tough sh**, as far as I am concerned.
Your own fault, now shut up.
Moving along, who likes bacon here?

I think I shall go consume some.
Love me some bacon.
And I know who saddled me with 10 characters, and it wasn't PWE's doing. But their "No more Commendations, and we're adding back in Expertise and EC requirements" plan still sucks. I want whoever came up with those damn rep sliders sterilized for the good of the gene pool. :P
:P

Trolling? Maybe, but just maybe I am dead serious and tired of the whining

guess your "im too special for you" routine didnt get any attention? rightly so, you have an opinion, i have an opinion as does everyone else here, and i at least respect the next person along the way not to throw it in their face as they didnt deserve it. if anything such a comment like this will only incite such a flamefest and your bacon thing is just spamming. so im gonna have it reported and see what the mods state about it.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Just don't have the time nor the inclination to do those events on more than one.
Au contraire, this is perfectly valid. Every day we see people wanting to do less work in the game for increased benefit. The moment a cash cow is removed threads appear and travel through the forums like wildfire (re: old mirror event XP farm).
Quite frankly there should not be any further ease of play added to the game when the very cries for those ease of play are based on multiplication of character slots by players.
Create a new toon at your own risk, so to speak. No handouts. That is the point of the thread.
if you find my abrasiveness noticeable, that is entirely intentional. I am not one to spoonfeed or PC up my posts. I dont believe in holding back how I truly believe on a subject.
Frankly the crybabies that "whaaah i want it right now by only pushing one button" are the worst sort of MMO scum and ruin the rest of the game for those that actually play it. Lowest common denominator, meet hardcore player.

5 mins with the Gimp, who else should I make eating bacon?
BACON FOR THE BACON GOD!
RASHERS FOR THE RASHERS THRONE!
Also, as ever, I must ask; Why does anyone need to be competitive in STO? And please don't say "PVP".
But seriously. Most of the things you need to grind for are, in fairness, not much of an issue. I take exception with Expertise, however.
Hrm... he kinda looks like he's breathing fire...
And frankly having more than 3 mains, that'ls just nuts.

Might have had something to do with only 2 missions that were worth is ... (ground + Breach) .
The other Reps were relatively ok to grind .
IMO, you should not be able to play only a couple hours a week a be just as good as someone who plays a couple hours a day, that is stupid. IF you want to be get the best stuff, you should have to actually TRY.
Well, for a long time, abusing the incredibly fast leveling system was the only thing to do. I very much remember the "Spring of hell" that happened way back in 2012.
I have 3 toons and that suits me fine. I'm not a casual player as such but i don't see the point in having a million toons just to farm the system until it's dead and then complain when something that actually requires work comes along.
If i wanted to play some new style of character i could get some extra toon slots from the c-store but i'd accept that i couldn't get all the shinnies on them without losing my real life to the game.
Like the OP said, it's your choice. If you feel you need 10+ toons to farm dil or EC's to get lots of shinnies then that's your choice but don't come on here ******** when the devs add content that might actually take some time to complete.
The rest of you? All you did was help the OP make me all hungry.
Now I have to go out and grab a bite. What am I going to get? Doesn't matter as long as it has bacon on it or in it. Thick cut. Hickory smoked. And enough of it to finish clogging the rest of my pulmonary arteries.
For me. I have 6 toons. 4 have made VA. Two get played every day or so. One for about fifteen minutes to fleet manage, the other for most of the time I'm logged on. Those two are the only two that have any rep. The 15 minute character has borg, that's it. Got it when it first came out and stopped. The other has everything. Max'ing rep on everything, tons of EC's, lots of Dil, a few lobi ships and working towards a million GPL. That's the only one I'm doing MI on. I have fun doing the daily once a day, twice when misjudge the time. That's plenty, any more than that and I my enjoyment would drop. I'm perfectly fine with the people I'm flying with working on their 3rd or 23rd character of the day, as long as they participate and take part in that time honored Trek tradition of killing every life form that is not a productive servant of the Glorious Federation.
The OP never told anyone how to play the game. They simply said thaaat those who choose to play a lot of toons shouldn't come complain about not having time to play.
And the bacon thing...
so you're effectively saying that, no one should have alts lol
i think that is a silly thought, i believe the game should had a certain ease so one can at least have 1 main character and 2 alts(you know, one for each faction), rather than mostly forcing you to play a single one like it does atm, no MMO should punish you when you dare *gasp* have more than one character, specially since this means more money for cryptic, since a player who has a character in each faction, is likely to buy ships/stuff for each faction.
and there is nothing hardcore about playing STO, you're not a hardcore player, you're just the average dude who appears on every damn forum and tries to pretend he is "hardcore/elite/whatever", now THAT is the worst kind of MMO scum, if you were hardcore, you would be playing EVE online or something, not what is arguably the easiest MMO out there.
Those who complain about a 15 minute event being to long because they have 20 alts to run through it need to find a new hobby. I've friends and fleet mates who have done nothing but Mirror for the past week and who are annoyed by that. They lament and moan about having to spend X hours doing the same thing over and over again seemingly oblivious to the fact they're the reason they're in that pickle. Not to mention the fact they don't *have* to run the event if they're actually that annoyed by it.
The game, it events and grinds should not be built around or catering to neckbeards with dozens of alts
be honest here, cryptic could change the event a bit, if you do well enough you have to literally sit and stare the screen for 5 minutes till the dread shows up.
you have no incentive to do well, just faw everything in sight, its unlikely you or the station will die/need repair anyway... elite or not.
the event is boring, whatever you're doing with it a bazillion characters or not.
